Square Announces Ai Expert Anna Patterson, 52, as Newest Board Member - Patterson is the Founder and Managing Partner at Gradient Ventures, google’s AI focused venture fund. Patterson is also VP of Engineering at Google and most recently helped to integrate AI into products across Google.
PNC Financial Services Group Promotes CTO as Chief Security Officer and Chief Information Security
PNC Financial Services Group appointed Deborah Guild as chief security officer and chief information security, leading the initiative. Guild joined PNC in 2013 as CTO. Previously, Guild worked for Bank of America for 21 years, most recently as CTO of enterprise functions and end-user computing. She had also been a senior network engineer at Intel.
SAP Appoints Concur Exec as President to Lead Team Offering Solutions for SMBs
SAP appointed Barry Padgett as new president of the SAP® Business One, SAP Anywhere, and SAP Business ByDesign® teams. He steps into the role having held various leadership positions since 1997 at Concur Technologies, including serving as Concur's chief product officer since 2014.
BT Group Appoints CEO of BT Technology, Service and Operations and Group CIO
BT Group has appointed Howard Watson as the CEO of BT Technology, Service and Operations and Group CIO. Watson is currently BT Chief Architect and MD Global IT Platforms, and will replace Clive Selley, who is taking over as CEO of Openreach. BT TSO manages the company's internal and external platforms, including TV, Mobile and Conferencing, as well as BT's R&D unit at Adastral Park, Suffolk.
Apple Announces Multiple Leadership Changes
Apple announced that Jeff Williams has been named COO and Johny Srouji is joining Apple's executive team as SVP for Hardware Technologies. Phil Schiller, SVP of Worldwide Marketing, will expand his role to include leadership of the revolutionary App Store across all Apple platforms. Apple also announced that Tor Myhren will join Apple in the first calendar quarter of 2016 as VP of Marketing Communications, reporting to CEO Tim Cook.
Microsoft Appoints Former Cisco CTO to Board
Padmasree Warrior, 55, the former CTO of Cisco is joining the Microsoft board. She's already a board member for Box, and for Gap, posts she had before she left Cisco. Warrior is the former Chief Technology & Strategy Officer of Cisco Systems, and the former CTO of Motorola.
Google Appoints Board Member and CEO of New Acquisition bebop as SVP; Makes Multiple Promotions
Google will acquire bebop Technologies and appoints the CEO, board member, and a stockholder of bebop, Diane B. Greene, 59, as SVP of Google. Greene has been Google’s non-independent director and will continue to serve on the Google board. Greene had been one of the founders of VMware, the company that more or less introduced the world to the concept of virtualization. She started the company with her husband Mendel Rosenblum and was its CEO for about 10 years, which included about four years after its acquisition by EMC, and saw it through the IPO.
Retired Lockheed IT Exec Joins Home Depot Board
The Home Depot named Linda R. Gooden to the company's board of directors. Gooden, who retired in 2013 from Lockheed Martin Corporation as EVP, Information Systems & Global Solutions, has an extensive background in information technology, cybersecurity, operations and finance. As EVP, she expanded Lockheed's IT capabilities beyond government customers to international and commercial markets. She also served as president of Lockheed's IT division from 1997 to 2006, which she grew into a multi-billion dollar business.
IBM Elects Saudi Businesswoman as New Board Member
IBM elected Hutham S. Olayan, 61, to the board. Olayan is a principal, director and senior executive of The Olayan Group, a private multinational enterprise that is both an international investor and diversified commercial and industrial business in Saudi Arabia. Olayan has been a director of The Olayan Group since 1981 and has headed the group’s New York office since 1985. She is president and CEO of Olayan America, the group’s affiliate responsible for investments primarily originating in North, Central and South America.
Apple Appoints Former Boeing CFO to its Board
Apple appointed James Bell, Boeing's former CFO, to its board. Bell, who was Boeing's CFO from 2003 to 2012, is on the board of several other companies, including JPMorgan Chase and Dow Chemical. He also served as Boeing's interim CEO for several months in 2005 after the aircraft maker fired CEO Harry Stonecipher.
