In order to evaluate the incumbent VP, Technology, Vell used the following scorecard for the connected vehicle solutions company. The scorecard directly corresponds to his key responsibilities around seven areas. This scorecard can provide substantial feedback and a valuable ground for discussion with the candidates.

Functional Experience: Web Architecture & Web Development Management

Candidate Experience 

§ Technology Leadership Experience: 20 + years of growing technology management responsibilities with at least ten years as the head of a technology organization.

§ Organization Scalability: Demonstrated ability to scale an organization beyond 125 people

§ Strong technical understanding: Successful experience managing a group of web architects or CTOs

§ Recent leading edge experience and understanding in the latest web development tools & methodologies, including CQ5 or other Content Management software and agile/scrum development, CDNs and Cloud Hosting.

§ Recruitment: Ability to attract, recruit and integrate new people into the organization.

Dora Vell is the Managing Partner of Vell Executive Search, a boutique executive search firm in Boston focused on recruiting technology executives and board members.
