SAP Appoints Concur Exec as President to Lead Team Offering Solutions for SMBs

SAP appointed Barry Padgett as new president of the SAP® Business One, SAP Anywhere, and SAP Business ByDesign® teams. He steps into the role having held various leadership positions since 1997 at Concur Technologies, including serving as Concur's chief product officer since 2014. 

Adobe Hires CIO from NetApp; Names MD for South Asia      

Adobe named Cynthia Stoddard as SVP and CIO. Most recently, she was CIO and SVP at data storage and management company NetApp, where she led the company's traditional IT functions while also expanding focus on innovation, customer-facing programs and strategic partnerships.

Adobe has elevated Kulmeet Bawa to MD for South Asia, taking over from Umang Bedi, who is leaving the company after five years of service. Bawa currently serves as Head of Sales for Adobe in India. Shanmugh Natarajan, Executive Director for Adobe India and VP Engineering, Digital Media, will continue to provide Site Leadership to Adobe India with a key focus on important research and development operations.

CSC and Hewlett Packard Enterprise Announce Executive Appointments for New Company        

CSC announced that its Board of Directors has unanimously approved a plan to merge the company with the Enterprise Services segment of Hewlett Packard Enterprise. The merger is expected to be completed by the end of March 2017, subject to shareholder and regulatory reviews and approvals. Following completion of the transaction, Mike Lawrie, who currently serves as chairman, president and CEO of CSC, will become chairman, president and CEO of the new company.

Meg Whitman, HPE’s president and CEO, will join the new company’s Board of Directors, which will be split equally between nominees of CSC and HPE.

CSC’s current CFO, Paul Saleh, will continue in that role after the transaction closes.

Mike Nefkens, the current EVP and GM of HPE Enterprise Services, will report to Lawrie and will become a key part of the new company’s executive team. Other executives and directors, as well as the name of the company, will be announced at a later date.

Electronic Arts Appoints CEO of Blackhawk Network to Its Board 

Electronic Arts appointed Talbott Roche, 49, to EA’s Board of Directors. Roche is the CEO and President of Blackhawk Network. Prior to her role as CEO, Roche served as the President of Blackhawk, as well as leading Marketing, Product and Business Development for the company.

CA Sees Principal Accounting Officer Replacement

CA elected Anthony J. Radesca as the company's principal accounting officer. Radesca, 47, has served as the company's VP of Accounting since June 2008. He brings 25 years of experience in both Public and Corporate Accounting to his new role. Radesca is a NeVPw York State Licensed Certified Public Accountant. Radesca will succeed Neil A. Manna, who resigned as the Company's principal accounting officer to pursue another opportunity.

Symantec to Acquire Blue Coat; Blue Coat CEO to Take Over as Symantec CEO  

Symantec and Blue Coat announced that they have entered into a definitive agreement under which Symantec will acquire Blue Coat for approximately $4.651 billion in cash. In connection with this investment, David Humphrey, a MD of Bain Capital Private Equity, will be appointed to Symantec’s Board of Directors, effective at the close of the transaction.

Greg Clark, CEO of Blue Coat, will be appointed CEO of Symantec and join the Symantec Board upon closing of the transaction. Greg Clark has served as the CEO of Blue Coat and as a member of the company’s board of directors since September 2011. Prior to joining, Clark was president and CEO of Mincom, from 2008 to August 2011.

Equinix CEO Joins the Board of Directors of NetApp          

NetApp announced that Steve Smith, 58, CEO and president of Equinix, has joined its board of directors. Smith joined Equinix in 2007 from Hewlett-Packard, where he served as SVP of HP Services.

Netsuite Appoints Apple Japan Exec as VP/GM for Japan   

NetSuite appointed Tomoyuki Nakanishi as its VP and GM for Japan. In this role, Nakanishi is charged with driving the business growth and operational strategy in Japan. Prior to NetSuite Tomoyuki was with Apple where he was responsible for driving the transformation of the Enterprise Partner business for Apple in Japan.

SS&C Technologies Announces Executive Changes 

SS&C Technologies Holdings named Dave Welling and Robert Roley as co-heads of SS&C Advent. The appointments balance continuity in key positions with the elevation of the next generation of leaders. SS&C also announced Pete Hess, SVP and GM, will be leaving SS&C Advent at the end of June 2016.

SS&C Technologies appointed Rainer Fuchsluger as the MD, Asia for the company's Institutional and Investment Management business. Fuchsluger brings more than 12 years of experience in regional sales and operational management roles in Asia working for leading financial services providers including Thomson Reuters and Interactive Data. He has served from multiple locations in Asia including Hong Kong, Singapore, Manila, and Tokyo.

Keysight Technologies Plans to Launch Keysight Software Development Center; Appoints Leader

Keysight Technologies and the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) announced a plan to launch a Keysight software development center to accelerate Keysight’s transformation into a software-centric solutions provider. Todd Cutler, VP and GM, Keysight Software Products Organization (SPO) and EEsof Electronic Design Automation, will relocate from Santa Rosa to Atlanta to lead the new software development center.

athenahealth Appoints former Amazon CFO to its Board; Bifurcates Chief Financial and Chief Administrative functions

athenahealth appointed Tom Szkutak, former CFO, to its Board of Directors. Szkutak served as SVP and CFO at from October 2002 to June 2015. Prior to Amazon, he spent 20 years with General Electric.

As athenahealth bifurcates the Chief Financial and Chief Administrative functions. Kristi A. Matus, EVP and Chief Financial and Administrative Officer (CFAO) of the company, announced her intention to step down, to pursue new challenges. The company appointed Karl Stubelis, to serve as the company's SVP and CFO. Stubelis has served as the company's VP and Corporate Controller, Chief Accounting Officer, Treasurer, interim CFO. Prior to joining the company, he served as VP, corporate controller, and chief accounting officer at Sapient Corporation.

Software AG Appoints Former CA Exec as VP, Alliances and Channels       

Software AG appointed Laura McCluer to the position of VP, Alliances and Channels. She is former Director, Global Partnerships and Alliances of ANCILE Solutions and former VP, Service Provider Solutions Unit of CA Technologies.

Blackbaud EVP to Retire by Next Year         

Blackbaud Inc. announced that Charles T. Cumbaa, EVP of Corporate & Product Strategy, will retire from the company. In the interim, Cumbaa will continue in his current position and will assist management with the transition of his responsibilities.

Tech Data Launches Security and Information Management BU; Appoints Leader

Tech Data launched its Security and Information Management business unit, which includes the company’s software and network security vendor portfolios, to its channel of solution providers throughout the Americas. The new business unit will be led by company veteran Tracy Holtz, who was recently appointed director, Product Marketing, Security and Information Management.

Pegasystems Names CFO From Dynatrace   

Pegasystems appointed Ken Stillwell, 45, as CFO and chief administrative officer. He joins Pegasystems from Dynatrace where he served as SVP and CFO. Prior to Dynatrace, he was EVP and CFO at SOVOS.

EMC Execs Join CommVault Systems

Data and information management software firm CommVault Systems Appoints Mark Velthuis as VP of Indirect Business for Asia Pacific and Japan. Leading the newly unified indirect overlay business for the region, Velthuis joins Commvault from EMC, bringing almost two decades of experience in the technology solutions industry. Velthuis has held a number of senior-level leadership positions for both blue chip and start-up companies,

CommVault Systems appointed Mark Velthuis as VP of Indirect Business including Axiom, BT, Whittman-Hart /marchFIRST, and Boer & Croon Strategy and Management Group. He was most recently Senior Director, Strategic Alliances for EMC, where he led the Market Development team across the region and worked closely with service providers, system integrators and consultants to create new markets and value propositions.

Progress Promotes VP, Engineering as Chief Transformation Officer         

Progress appointed Faris Sweis to the newly-established role of Chief Transformation Officer. In this new role, Sweis will work closely with the Progress product organization to craft and deliver on the strategic technological direction and lead the internal digital transformation effort. Previously, Sweis served as Chief Technical Officer for Telerik, acquired by Progress in December 2014, and was subsequently appointed VP of Engineering for Progress. Sweis joined Telerik in 2010, when it acquired ArtOfTest, which he co-founded and served as CTO. Sweis has also served as a software architect and consultant for Microsoft and Dell.

Mathew Robinson resigned as its CTO to enroll in the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Imperva Appoints Regional VP of EMEAfrom Kaseya

Imperva appointed Spencer Young to the position of Regional VP of EMEA. Young joins Imperva from IT systems management leader Kaseya, where as a member of the executive team he served as SVP of International Field Operations, responsible for the EMEA and APAC regions.

Basware Appoints Aspen Exec as Global Sales SVP

Paul Taylor has been appointed as SVP, Global Sales and as a member of the Executive Team at Basware. Prior to Basware, Taylor was SVP, International Sales at Aspen Technology. He has over 25 years of extensive leadership experience in enterprise software sales, with specific domain expertise in telecommunications, e-commerce and process industries.

Epiq Announces Board Changes as Epiq and Villere Enter Settlement Agreement  

Epiq announced that it has reached an agreement with St. Denis J. Villere & Company, regarding the composition of the Company's Board of Directors and other matters including a resolution of a potential proxy contest and dismissal of the litigation pending between the companies. Under the terms of the agreement, Epiq will appoint Jeffrey Galgano, Barry LeBlanc and Gregory Share to its slate of directors for the 2016 annual meeting of shareholders, and three Epiq directors will retire from the Board effective December 31, 2016.

Dora Vell

Dora Vell is the Managing Partner of Vell Executive Search, a boutique executive search firm in Boston focused on recruiting technology executives and board members.
