Welcome to our monthly update on CIO/ & Other Tech Roles Turnover. This newsletter covers Tech function roles, including CIOs, CTOs, CISOs, and Head of Tech & Ops, in the 31 days ended March 31st, 2016.

AB Volvo, Sweden - $36.64B, September 2015   
Volvo Group Executive Team member Torbjörn Holmström has announced his intention to step down from his position as Volvo Group CTO and EVP Group Trucks Technology. A global search will be conducted during autumn 2015 to identify his successor.

TE Connectivity Ltd. announced on October 14, 2015 that its EVP and CTO, Robert Shaddock, is retiring from the Company effective late in 2016.

Suncorp
Group Limited announced the resignation of CIO Matt Pancino, effective 29 April 2016. Pancino will join rival CommBank as its new executive general manager of enterprise services for retail and wealth. Suncorp's chief transformation officer Clayton Herbert is acting as CIO while the group searches for a permanent replacement.

Jay Vijayan has left his job as the CIO at Tesla Motors to begin working on a stealth startup. Tesla Motors confirmed Mr. Vijayan’s departure, but it would not say whether it has yet found a permanent replacement.

William Hill, UK - $2.53B, January 2016
Following a review of Online, William Hill plc is making some management changes to support its next phase of growth, focused on product innovation, personalization and user experience improvements. Andrew Lee, Managing Director Online, will be leaving the business at some point in 2016. Crispin Nieboer has been appointed Interim MD of Online, reporting to James Henderson; he is currently responsible for Online's Shoreditch innovation team. A search is underway for a permanent replacement and will consider both internal and external candidates.

On March 23, 2016, Trent Taylor resigned from hhgregg as CIO to pursue other opportunities.

Ruckus Wireless, California - $326.9M, June 2015        
William Bill Kish is leaving his position as CTO of Ruckus Wireless, to pursue new interests, and has stepped down as a member of the Board of Directors. The company has launched a search for a new CTO who will fuel the next wave of innovation.

Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines, Iowa - $259.7M, December 2015 
On November 30, 2015, Mary Cecola, SVP and Chief Business Technology Officer of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines (the Bank), tendered her resignation from the Bank in order to accept the position of CIO at Antares Capital.  Ms. Cecola's resignation will become effective December 11, 2015.

Kamalesh Dwivedi, the company's CIO, separated from the company effective October 14, 2015.

Prior to founding the firm in 2005, Vell was a Partner at Heidrick & Struggles' Technology practice for seven years.  Before her career in executive search, she worked at IBM for 11 years, managing software engineering organizations of 100 people and software sales organizations with revenues of $150 million. She has also served as an executive assistant to the CEO of IBM Canada for one year.

Vell holds seven worldwide software patents. She has published several Business of Leadership reports on governance and leadership and has been quoted in numerous articles including The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Business Week, Fortune, Agenda Week, MSNBC, Mass High Tech, the OPUS for the World Economic Forum, Boston Business Journal, The Globe & Mail, CIO Magazine, and IEEE. She also has been a featured speaker on leadership at numerous conferences and at Columbia University's MBA program.

Vell is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), the Boston CEO Roundtable. She has served on the boards of Framingham State, Entrepreneur's Organization, Goodwill, Mary Centre for developmentally handicapped adults, garage.ca, and RBC Capital Partners.

She has received an MBA from the University of Toronto, a Master in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, and a Bachelor in Computer Science from Carleton. She has also completed the MIT Entrepreneurial Master’s program.
