Cerner Names SVP of Population Health

Cerner announced that John Glaser will assume the role of SVP of Population Health and Global Strategy. He joined Cerner in 2015 as a part of the Siemens Heath Services acquisition, where he was CEO. Prior to Siemens, he was VP and CIO at Partners HealthCare; he also previously served as VP of information systems at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

Quality Systems Announces Management Changes

Quality Systems, developer of health IT software for medical and dental clients, appointed James R. 'Jamie' Arnold, Jr. to the post of CFO. He assumes the role from John K. Stumpf, who has been serving as interim CFO since March 2015. Most recently, Arnold served as CFO and executive board member at Kofax. During this period, Arnold was instrumental in the completion and integration of six acquisitions, disposition of the hardware distribution business and oversaw the company’s U.S. initial public offering and the company’s transition from a listing on the London Stock Exchange.     

Imprivata Announces Management Changes 

David Orfao notified the Board of Directors of healthcare industry IT security provider Imprivata, of his intent to resign from the board. The board appointed Kate Walsh to serve as a member of the board to fill the vacancy created by Orfao's resignation.

ResApp Health Appoints Co-Founder and VP as New Director        

ResApp Health, that develops smartphone medical applications for the diagnosis and management of respiratory disease, named Brian Leedman as a Director of the company. Leedman is a co-founder of the Company and currently serves in the role of VP, Corporate Affairs. Leedman is a marketing and investor relations professional with over 10 years' experience in the biotechnology/healthcare industry. Prior to ResApp, he co-founded Enigma Therapeutics which listed on the ASX in 2013 as Oncosil Medical Limited.          

OptimizeRx Gets New CEO from Plexuus 

OptimizeRx, the provider of technology solutions for health care industry, appointed William Febbo as CEO, replacing David Harrell, who will continue as Chairman. Febbo brings more than 18 years of experience in building and managing health services and financial businesses. Before joining company, Febbo served as Chairman and Founder of Plexuus. From 2007 to 2015, he worked with Merriman Holdings, as COO and assisted with capital raises in the tech, biotech, cleantech, consumer and resources industries. From 2013 to 2015, he also worked with Digital Capital Network as CEO and Co-Founder.

Authentidate Appoints Interim CFO as CFO Resigns           

Telehealth products firm Authentidate Holding appointed Tom Leahey as interim CFO. Leahey, a Principal and Practice Leader of the Strategic Growth Advisory Practice, succeeds Bill Marshall, who resigned from Authentidate, in accordance with the terms of the merger with Aeon Clinical Laboratories, previously reported.

DATATRAK International Appoints Interim CEO and President; Few Board Members Depart

Provider of eClinical solutions for the clinical trials industry DATATRAK International appointed James R. Ward or Jim Bob Ward to the position of Interim CEO and President to fill the vacancy and such appointment shall be effective as of the termination of the former CEO.

DATATRAK also finalized changes to its board of directors. In connection with the settlement reached among DATATRAK, Tabatabai Investment Management, Alex Tabatabai, Timothy Biro, James Karis, Jerome Kaiser, Nicholas Loiacono, and Andrew Pitler, Messrs. Kaiser, Karis and Pitler have resigned from DATATRAK's board of directors.

Open Source Health Appoints About You CEO as Board Member   

Open Source Health, that offers a cloud-based integrated framework and tools that enable women to pro-actively manage their own health, named David Franklin to the Board of Directors of the company. The company also announced the resignation of Heather Heaman from the Board. Franklin is currently the CEO of About You Medical Supplies.  

Kallo Announces Executive Changes 

Vince Leitao resigned as president and COO of Kallo, a development stage company, focuses on developing software for taking medical information from various sources and depositing it into a single source as an electronic medical record for a patient. Further, Leitao resigned as a director from all of subsidiary corporations.

John Cecil, current principal executive officer, treasurer, principal financial officer, principal accounting officer, and a member of board, was appointed as president and Lloyd Chiotti, current Executive Vice President and a member of board of directors was appointed COO to fill the vacancies created by Leitao's resignation.

ABILITY Network Promotes HR Exec        

ABILITY Network, the company that develops and delivers a suite of online solutions for healthcare providers in ambulatory, acute, and post-acute settings in the United States, announced the promotion of Lynn Howard to SVP of HR. Since joining ABILITY, Howard has made substantial advances in building the company’s HR organization. Before coming to ABILITY, she served as the VP of HR at Surgical Care Affiliates, a leading provider of outpatient surgical care. Prior to that, Howard was SVP of HR at MedAssets.

Healthwise Replaces CEO

Healthwise, that develops health information solutions, announced that Robert "Bob" Kyte will replace Donald W. Kemper as CEO. Kyte worked for Healthwise as general counsel and other roles from 1990 to 2009. Kyte most recently worked as president of the nonprofit Adventist Risk Management, a risk-management insurance broker and administrator. He also was president and CEO of GENCON Insurance, an affiliate of Adventist Risk Management.

Eliza Appoints SVP, Market Strategy and Consulting

Eliza, the firm that provides integrated healthcare communication services for health plans, disease management firms, pharmacy benefit managers, and pharmaceutical companies, appointed Ellen Harrison, MBA, RN in the role of SVP, market strategy and consulting. Previously Ellen was a VP of Medical Management for Martin's Point Health Care.           

Avantas Promotes Insider as President          

Jackie Larson has been named president of Avantas, an AMN Healthcare company that provides labor management solutions and services to the healthcare industry in Nebraska. Since joining Avantas in 2008, Larson has also served as SVP of client services. She has been the driving force in building out the company's client management, analytics, and consulting groups into world-class teams providing guidance and support to clients on a wide range of issues, including workforce optimization, labor pool development, system integration, resource management, and business analytics. Avantas is an AMN Healthcare company.           

hCentive Appoints Chief Product Officer from Mediware     

hCentive, that provides cloud-based healthcare technology solutions for health plans, state agencies, dental plans, and TPAs, appointed Derrick Cobey as Chief Product Officer. Prior to joining hCentive, Derrick was CTO for Mediware Human and Social Services Division.

ClearDATA Appoints Rackspace Exec as SVP of Customer Success

The provider of cloud computing platform and information security services to the healthcare industry in the United States ClearDATA announced that Javad Kabiri has joined the company as SVP of Customer Success. Kabiri will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer outcomes on the company's healthcare-exclusive cloud computing, security and compliance platform. Kabiri comes to ClearDATA after a decade at Rackspace where he was responsible for leading cloud support organizations for 60,000 customers in the U.S.   

Medevolve Adds Two New Board Members 

MedEvolve, that provides a set of computer applications for practice management, electronic medical records, eligibility verification, and electronic prescribing applications to physician practices, announced the addition of Jim Crook and Jon Phillips to the company's Board of Directors. Crook has over 35 years of leadership experience with a strong track record of growing companies in healthcare IT. Currently, Crook is a private equity investor in several healthcare IT companies and serves on multiple related boards, including MediRevv, OpenTempo, RCxRules and Arcadia Healthcare Solutions.

Jonathan Phillips has over two decades of experience providing financial advisory and strategic consulting services to leading healthcare organizations. Phillips founded Healthcare Growth Partners (HGP) in 2005, where he continues to serve as Partner and Managing Director.

PatientSafe Solutions Appoints Company Co-Founder as President and CEO          

The provider of connected healthcare workflow and care coordination solutions to hospitals PatientSafe Solutions appointed company co-founder, Si Luo, to the position of president and CEO. Luo has played an integral role in the evolution of PatientSafe Solutions since its founding in 2009, and will continue to lead the company with an aggressive go-to-market strategy and a bold vision for the future of clinical mobility.

Dora Vell

Dora Vell is the Managing Partner of Vell Executive Search, a boutique executive search firm in Boston focused on recruiting technology executives and board members. Vell has successfully completed numerous board member and C-level executive searches, including CEOs, COOs, CIOs, and Vice Presidents - at both public and private companies.

Prior to founding the firm in 2005, Vell was a Partner at Heidrick & Struggles' Technology practice for seven years.  Before her career in executive search, she worked at IBM for 11 years, managing software engineering organizations of 100 people and software sales organizations with revenues of $150 million. She has also served as an executive assistant to the CEO of IBM Canada for one year.
