VMware Sees Changes on the Board and Leadership Team

Retired CFO of Accenture Pamela J. Craig, 58, and former CFO of Cisco Dennis D. Powell, 68, resigned from the Board of Directors of VMware. VMware elected Donald J. Carty, 69, as a member of the Board.

Carty is also a member of the EMC board of directors, on which he has served since January 2015. Carty is currently a private investor. He served as Vice Chairman and CFO of Dell, and as Chairman and CEO of AMR Corporation and American Airlines.

SVP of Finance at VMware Janesh Moorjani joins Infoblox as CFO.

VMware announced key changes to its R&D leadership team in India, with the appointment of Niranjan Thirumale as VP and managing site director, R&D, India. Thirumale takes the reins from Niranjan Maka, who has moved to the company's headquarters in Palo Alto, California, to head VMware's global R&D sites. Thirumale's previous stint was at EMC, where he was serving as CTO of the EMC India Center of Excellence. He has also held senior leadership roles at NetApp and IBM.

Equinix Closes TelecityGroup Acquisition While Chair John Hughes Joins Board; PeopleSoft CMO Too Joins as Board Member

Telecity's Chairman, John Hughes, 63, will be joining the Board of Directors of Equinix, and Equinix's EMEA President, Eric Schwartz, will serve as the head of the combined regional business in EMEA.

Equinix appointed Nanci Caldwell, 57, to its Board of Directors. Caldwell also currently sits on the Boards of CIBC and Citrix Systems. Caldwell is the former Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of PeopleSoft.

Citrix Elects Accomplished Business Leaders as Directors; Appoints Former EVP of Microsoft Business Solutions Division as CEO

Citrix Systems elected Peter Sacripanti and Graham Smith, 55, to its board of directors. Sacripanti is co-chair and partner at the international law firm McDermott Will & Emery. Smith has served as a director of Splunk since 2011 and was previously the EVP and CFO for Salesforce. Prior to Salesforce, he served as CFO at Advent Software.

Kirill Tatarinov, 51, has been appointed President, CEO and director. Interim President and CEO Robert Calderoni, 55, continues his role as Executive Chairman on the Citrix Board of Directors, focused on driving execution of the strategic plan for operational excellence, capital structure and portfolio simplification.

With 30 years of industry experience, Tatarinov has a long and successful track record overseeing product strategy and commercial operations in software and services. His background includes leadership positions at Microsoft for 13 years, including most recently serving as Executive Vice President of the Microsoft Business Solutions Division where he doubled revenue, increased profitability, led the division’s transformation to the cloud, and managed the global partner ecosystem. Prior to Microsoft, Tatarinov was a member of the senior leadership team at BMC, where he served as CTO.

GoDaddy Promotes Steve Aldrich to Chief Product Officer

GoDaddy appointed Steven Aldrich as Chief Product Officer. Previously the senior vice president of Business Applications, Aldrich will lead overall product strategy and development across GoDaddy's Hosting, Presence and Commerce, and Business Applications groups, in the newly created CPO position. Aldrich joined GoDaddy in July 2012 as senior vice president of Business Applications. Prior to joining GoDaddy, Aldrich spent over a decade at Intuit, where his teams delivered a number of small business offerings, including financial management, payments, websites, customer management and point of sale solutions. Aldrich also has small business experience as the founder of an online company that simplified shopping for insurance.

Rackspace Hosting’s New VP, Engineering Brings Innovation Track Record And Open Source Community Development Capabilities

Rackspace Hosting named Brian Stein as vice president of global engineering. Stein has more than 15 years of experience in open source development, user experience, quality engineering and assurance, release engineering and project management. Prior to Rackspace, he served as senior vice president of engineering at Puppet Labs, where he helped drive Puppet's offerings into an enterprise-class platform. Prior to Puppet Labs, Stein was vice president of engineering at Red Hat.

Carbonite Appoints Board Member with Wealth of Financial Expertise and a Strong Technology Background

Scott Daniels was appointed to serve as a director on the Board of Carbonite. Pravin Vazirani, 44, concurrently with the appointment of Daniels, resigned as a director of the Company. Vazirani, Managing Director at Menlo Ventures, is leaving the Board to continue his focus on very early stage private investments.

Daniels has spent his entire career investing in and working with public technology companies. He was a senior analyst at Shannon River Partners. Prior to Shannon River, he was a partner at S Squared Technology.

Paul Mellinger has been appointed as SVP of the company's EVault business. Since January 2013, Mellinger has served as the VP of Software Sales at IBM.

Cloudability Appoints New Leader from Jive Software

Cloudability, cloud infrastructure monitoring service provider, announced Bill Lynch, co-founder of Jive Software, has joined the company as vice president of products. In his role, Lynch will be responsible for scaling the product strategy and design, as well as managing Cloudability's expanding product line. Lynch brings more than 15 years of experience in managing product strategy and development in growing start-ups to his new role at Cloudability.  Most recently, Lynch was co-founder and VP of product management of Jive Software.

Dora Vell

Dora Vell is the Managing Partner of Vell Executive Search, a boutique executive search firm in Boston focused on recruiting technology executives and board members. She has received an MBA from the University of Toronto, a Master in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, and a Bachelor in Computer Science from Carleton. She has also completed the MIT Entrepreneurial Master’s program.
