Citrix Appoints CMO from SAP; Microsoft Exec to Lead EMEA

Tim Minahan is joining Citrix as CMO. Minahan will be responsible for leading and evolving the Citrix marketing strategy to continue to drive the company’s vision of securely and reliably delivering applications and data. He comes to Citrix from SAP where he was CMO of SAP Cloud.

Citrix named Sherif Seddik as MD and VP for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Seddik has more than 27 years of international sales, marketing and management experience in the IT sector. In 2002, he enrolled in Microsoft and most recently worked for the past 5 years as GM of the Western Europe Enterprise and Partner Group. Prior to that, Seddik served 14 years at NCR Corporation in different sales and helm positions.

Zayo Promotes Internal Exec to EVP, Colocation and Cloud Infrastructure

Global bandwidth infrastructure provider Zayo Group Holdings appointed Greg Friedman, who currently leads the Ethernet team and has been with Zayo since 2010, as EVP, Colocation and Cloud Infrastructure.

Rackspace Hosting Appoints Sales and Marketing Leader; Promotes COO

Managed cloud computing company Rackspace Hosting announced that Alex Pinchev has joined the company as EVP and President of global sales and marketing. Pinchev will oversee Rackspace's sales and marketing organizations and drive company growth as the leader in managed cloud services. Pinchev brings more than 30 years of technology industry experience to Rackspace. He was most recently CEO of Capri Ventures. Prior, he served as president and CEO of Acronis and led sales, services and marketing at Red Hat.

Rackspace appointed COO Mark Roenigk as GM and SVP Worldwide Operations. Prior to this appointment Roenigk acted as the COO from December 2009.

Zendesk’s CFO to Depart in 2016; Company Looking for a Successor

Cloud-based customer service platform provider Zendesk announced that SVP and CFO Alan Black plans to depart the company in 2016. Black, who joined Zendesk in 2011, will continue in his role as CFO until a replacement is identified and plans to be active in the search and transition. The company intends to immediately initiate a search to identify and recruit a new CFO.

Infoblox Appoints HP Software’s Cloud and Automation Exec as EVP of Engineering        

The market leader in Automated Network Control, Infoblox, appointed Atul Garg as EVP of engineering. Garg is responsible for managing the worldwide engineering, manufacturing operations, and quality assurance organizations. Garg joins Infoblox from Hewlett Packard Enterprise, where he was VP and GM of Cloud and Automation at HP Software. Previously, Garg was VP of global R&D for infrastructure, cloud, and application management at BMC Software. Garg came to BMC after the predictive analytics company he founded-ProactiveNet-was acquired by BMC. Earlier in his career, Garg held engineering leadership positions at TCSI, Bay Networks/Nortel, and Hewlett-Packard.

Benefitfocus Expands Sales and Marketing Leadership Team

Benefitfocus, the provider of cloud-based benefits software solutions, appointed Kevin Hamilton to SVP of Marketing and the promotion of Chris Shee to SVP of Employer Sales. An experienced sales and marketing executive, Hamilton joins Benefitfocus from Opower where he was most recently VP of Marketing. Prior to Opower, Kevin led Sales and Corporate Development teams at CEB, a best practice insight and technology company.

Shee will lead the Benefitfocus Employer Sales organization and focus on a rapid expansion of the customer community. A six-year veteran of Benefitfocus, Shee joined the company following a successful fourteen-year career as a sales leader with ADP. During his tenure with Benefitfocus, Shee has consistently exceeded sales expectations as both a Regional Director and, most recently, VP of Employer Sales.

UK's Leading IT Infrastructure Provider Softcat Appoints Non-Executive Directors

Peter Ventress, Lee Ginsberg and Vin Murria were appointed as a non-executive director of Softcat plc. Ventress is also Deputy Chairman and Senior Independent Director of Galliford Try plc and a Non-executive Director of Premier Farnell plc. Prior to joining Softcat he spent five years as CEO of Berendsen plc, held several senior executive roles, including International President, at Staples., held several senior executive roles, including CEO, at Corporate Express NV prior to its acquisition by Staples and held a number of other general management positions across a number of different businesses in a variety of industries.

Ginsberg is also a Non-executive Director at Mothercare plc and Trinity Mirror plc, a Non-executive Director and Senior Independent Director at On The Beach Group plc, a Deputy Chairman and Senior Independent Director at Patisserie Valerie Holdings plc and Non-executive Chairman at Oriole Restaurants Limited. Prior to joining Softcat, he spent ten years as CFO of Domino's Pizza Group plc and held the post of Group Finance Director at Health Club Holdings Limited, formerly Holmes Place plc, where he also served for 18 months as Deputy CEO.

Murria is also a Non-executive Director at Zoopla Property Group Plc and Greenko plc, and a Partner at Elderstreet Investments.  Prior to joining Softcat, she spent seven years as the founder and CEO at Advanced Computer Software plc prior to its acquisition by Vista Equity Partners in 2015, and five years as CEO of Computer Software Group plc prior to its acquisition by HG Capital and then Hellman & Friedman in 2007.  Previously, she was also COO at Kewill Systems.

Dora Vell

Dora Vell is the Managing Partner of Vell Executive Search, a boutique executive search firm in Boston focused on recruiting technology executives and board members. Vell has successfully completed numerous board member and C-level executive searches, including CEOs, COOs, CIOs, and Vice Presidents - at both public and private companies.

Prior to founding the firm in 2005, Vell was a Partner at Heidrick & Struggles' Technology practice for seven years.  Before her career in executive search, she worked at IBM for 11 years, managing software engineering organizations of 100 people and software sales organizations with revenues of $150 million. She has also served as an executive assistant to the CEO of IBM Canada for one year.

Vell is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), the Boston CEO Roundtable. She has served on the boards of Framingham State, Entrepreneur's Organization, Goodwill, Mary Centre for developmentally handicapped adults,, and RBC Capital Partners.

She has received an MBA from the University of Toronto, a Master in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, and a Bachelor in Computer Science from Carleton. She has also completed the MIT Entrepreneurial Master’s program.
