Google Appoints Board Member and CEO of New Acquisition bebop as SVP; Makes Multiple Promotions

Google will acquire bebop Technologies and appoints the CEO, board member, and a stockholder of bebop, Diane B. Greene, 59, as SVP of Google. Greene has been Google’s non-independent director and will continue to serve on the Google board. Greene had been one of the founders of VMware, the company that more or less introduced the world to the concept of virtualization. She started the company with her husband Mendel Rosenblum and was its CEO for about 10 years, which included about four years after its acquisition by EMC, and saw it through the IPO.

Google also made a number of promotions at the company's ads and Android divisions. Hiroshi Lockheimer, currently VP on the Android team, was promoted to the position of SVP for Android, Chrome and Chromecast, while Phillip Schindler, an ads VP, will now serve as SVP of global sales and operations. Neal Mohan, VP of display and video advertising, was also named to the position of SVP. 

The Priceline Group Appoints Interim CEO as CEO of OpenTable   

The Priceline Group named Christa Quarles as CEO of OpenTable, the Priceline owned online real-time restaurant-reservation service. Quarles has served as the CFO of OpenTable since May 2015 and as interim CEO since September of 2015 when former CEO Matt Roberts moved into the role of Chairman. Prior to joining OpenTable in 2015, Quarles served as the Chief Business Officer for Nextdoor where she oversaw finance, business intelligence, HR, business development and legal.

eBay Hires Walmart Executive as VP of Soft Goods

eBay hired a executive Jill Ramsey to lead merchandising efforts for Fashion, Home & Garden, Collectibles & Art, and Lifestyle & Media. Jill Ramsey is eBay's new VP of Soft Goods, North America. She spent 15 years at Walmart, having joined the retailer in 2000.

LinkedIn Announces Executive Changes

LinkedIn has appointed John Herlihy as VP of the company and Managing Director for the Europe, Middle East and Africa Region. In this role, Herlihy will lead the Global professional network's business efforts in EMEA, overseeing the company's strategic direction while continuing to drive business and member growth. Herlihy previously worked at Google, where he was VP of SMB Sales and Head of Google Ireland. Herlihy replaces Ariel Eckstein, who has been LinkedIn's Managing Director in EMEA for the past four years.

Yahoo! Appoints Former Twitter Exec as CISO; Another Top Yahoo Media Exec Departs

Yahoo! named Bob Lord as Chief Information Security Officer. Lord brings more than twenty years of significant experience in the information security space, including most recently as the CISO-in-Residence at Rapid 7. Prior to that, Lord led Twitter’s information security program and held positions in product and information security at companies like Red Hat, AOL, and Netscape.

Yahoo’s Rob Barrett, who has most recently been its head of media strategy and operations, has left the company. Formerly the head of Yahoo’s powerful news and finance unit, Barrett has been in charge of content strategy and development over all of Yahoo media properties.

Twitter Witnesses Board and Senior Leadership Changes

Twitter appointed Omid R. Kordestani, 51, to serve as a member of the Board and as its Executive Chairman. Kordestani served as SVP and Chief Business Officer of Google.

Twitter has named interim CEO Jack Dorsey as its permanent CEO. Dorsey has served as interim CEO for the three months, after former Dick Costolo stepped down on 1 July. Dorsey will remain the head of fast-growing mobile payments company Square, potentially setting up a conflict of interests for the co-founder of both companies.

Dorsey will no longer act as chairman. The board appointed Adam Bain, 42, as COO. Bain served as Twitter's President, Global Revenue & Partnerships from 2010 to October 2015. Bain served in several roles at News Corporation, a diversified media company, including as EVP of Products & Technology and as President of its advertising arm, Fox Audience Network.

Mark Little, the founder of News Corp. owned social news agency Storyful, has been hired as a senior executive across Twitter's international operation. Little will take the role of VP of media for Europe and Africa.

TripAdvisor Names New CFO

Ernst Teunissen will join TripAdvisor as CFO. He is currently EVP and CFO of Cimpress N.V., a leader in mass customization, where he has similar responsibilities. He joined Cimpress in 2009 as VP, corporate strategy.

Silicon Valley Bank Appoints COO as Chief Digital Officer

Silicon Valley Bank announced that Bruce Wallace takes on the role of Chief Digital Officer. Previously, Wallace was SVB's Chief Operations Officer, responsible for Global Operations and IT. Prior to joining SVB, Wallace spent more than 20 years in a variety of management positions with Wells Fargo & Company. Most recently, Wallace was a SVP and manager of Wells Fargo’s treasury management operations.

Groupon Replaces CEO Eric Lefkofsky with COO Rich Williams

Groupon’s replaces co-founder Eric Lefkofsky as CEO with Rich Williams, the company’s COO. Lefkofsky will return to his previous role as chairman of the board, with current chair Ted Leonsis moving to an independent director position. The changes are effective immediately. Lefkofsky took over the CEO role on an interim basis in February of 2013.

Williams was most recently COO, after being promoted to the role in the spring. Before that he was president of the company’s core North America business.

Shutterfly Gets New CFO

Shutterfly, the digital retailer of personalized photo-based products and services, announced it appointed Mike Pope as SVP and CFO. Pope will join the Shutterfly team as SVP, and become CFO. Brian Regan will transition his duties to Mike Pope. Pope joins Shutterfly from Clean Power Finance, where he served as CFO. He has also held the position of COO and CFO at MarketTools, VP at BearingPoint, president and COO at Network General, president and CEO at DigitalThink, and CFO at Dionex (acquired by Thermo Scientific).

Shutterstock’s Board Member Resigns; Appoints CTO

Jonathan Miller, former Chair and CEO of Digital Media Group at News Corp., resigns from board of Shutterstock, the global marketplace for commercial digital content. Miller has served as a member of our Board since March 2012.

Anshu Aggarwal has joined Shutterstock, the stock photography, stock footage and stock music provider, as CTO. Most recently, he served as the VP of Engineering at Tumblr, one of the world's largest content sharing and discovery platforms. In addition, he has served in technology leadership roles at 1 Efficiency, Quewey, Gemini Mobile Technologies, Edison Carter Corporation (now 3VR Security) and Inktomi Corporation.

Monster Worldwide’s COO Adds On President Role; Sees CFO Replacement

Mark C. Stoever has been appointed as employment website Monster Worldwide’s President, in addition to his existing role of COO. Stoever assumes the role of President from Timothy T. Yates, who remains as the company's CEO and a member of the Board of Directors. Stoever has been the company's COO since November 2014. Previously, he had served as EVP, Corporate Development and Internet Advertising from October 2011 to November 2014, as EVP, Corporate Development and Strategic Alliances from September 2008 to October 2011.

James M. Langrock resigned as EVP and CFO of Monster Worldwide. Michael B. McGuinness has been appointed as the company's EVP and CFO. Michael B. McGuinness served as the company's SVP, Chief Accounting Officer and Global Controller from February 2012 to October 2015 and as VP and Assistant Global Controller from July 2008 to January 2012.

SurveyMonkey Hires Renowned Pollster as Head of Election Polling

Online survey platform SurveyMonkey announced Mark Blumenthal, co-founder of, will be joining as the company's Head of Election Polling. Blumenthal joins the company’s survey research team. Most recently, Blumenthal served as the Senior Polling Editor at The Huffington Post and was responsible for the outlet’s Pollster section, where thousands of election polls are analyzed and shared. Prior to joining The Huffington Post, Blumenthal co-founded, a nationally recognized website publishing aggregated poll results in interactive charts and graphs.

Snapchat's VP of Public Policy and Communications Joins Uber

Snapchat's VP of public policy and communications, Jill Hazelbaker, hired a year ago from Google, is now leaving for the same position at Uber Technologies. Hazelbaker held senior positions within the political campaigns of Sen.
