Allscripts Promotes CFO to President

Allscripts promoted CFO Rick Poulton to President, responsible for day-to-day operational leadership. The Company has commenced a search for a new CFO, and Poulton will maintain the CFO title and responsibilities until a new CFO is appointed.

NNIT Names New GM for North American Affiliate

NNIT, the Denmark-based IT company serving life sciences companies, has appointed Jan Weber as new GM for its North American affiliate. Weber joined NNIT in 2005 and has built up a vast experience within IT, life sciences and management. Most recently, he was Director for the Danish Life Sciences Advisory department.

Leadership Changes at Medidata

Rouven Bergmann, Medidata's recently appointed CFO, assumed the responsibilities of Chief Accounting Officer. Bergmann is replacing David Colistra, who will be leaving the Company to pursue other opportunities. Bergmann joined the Company as CFO in May 2015.

Michael Pinto joined the company as EVP and GM of global sales. Pinto joins Medidata from DocuSign, where he served as VP and GM for the enterprise and healthcare life sciences industry. Prior to that, he was SVP and GM of SAP’s billion-dollar-plus US East Coast unit.

WebMD Makes Two Executive Appointments to Lead its Sales and Customer Service Organizations

John Harrison, who joined WebMD in March 2015 as head of Client Delivery, was named SVP, Customer Experience. Donna J. Geringer, a leader at driving new business development, client retention and revenue growth in the health insurance and medical services industries, joined as Chief Client Officer.

Prior to joining, Harrison was EVP Operations, Product and Client Experience at MobilePaks, a startup focused on providing sales tools based on retention science. Previously, he was VP of Client Experience at Webtrends and President of Client Services at Yesmail. He also held senior product and client service positions at @Once, GeoTrust, and Symantec.

Prior to joining, Geringer was SVP, Sales and Exchange Development for Davis Vision, VP, Growth and Business Development at KEPRO, and served in leadership sales positions at Ingenix, Aetna National Accounts, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield and WellPoint.

Orion Health Appoints New VP of Marketing for North America       

Orion Health, the provider of clinical workflow and integration technology for the healthcare sector, appointed Robert Pepper as VP of Marketing, North America. Prior to joining Orion Health, Pepper served in a marketing executive role in healthcare for VISICU (acquired by Philips Healthcare), Philips Healthcare and SoftMed Systems (acquired by 3M Health Information Systems) and other hi-tech companies.

HMS Holdings Sees Exec Departures     

Eugene V. DeFelice voluntarily resigned as an employee, EVP, General Counsel, and Secretary of HMS Holdings, the leader in healthcare cost containment solutions for government-funded, commercial, and private entities, to pursue other professional opportunities. The company conducts a search for an appropriate successor.

Joseph M. Donabauer was notified of the elimination of his position as SVP and Controller of HMS Holdings from the company's New York office.

Carepayment Announces Executive Appointments

CarePayment, the patient financial engagement company, has appointed healthcare leaders George I. Lazenby IV and Mark J. Emkjer to its board of directors, and named Ed Caldwell to the new position of chief revenue officer. Lazenby and Emkjer bring extensive experience in growing successful healthcare businesses, serving as CEOs of Emdeon and WebMD Health Services, respectively. 

Caldwell, a former SVP of revenue cycle solutions for Emdeon, will manage and expand CarePayment's sales and business development team, as well as pursue partner and channel opportunities. Before joining CarePayment, Caldwell was SVP of sales and marketing for MediTract. 

Evolent Health Elects Senior Advisor to Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to Board

Evolent Health announced that Cheryl Scott has been elected to Evolent's board of directors. Scott currently provides strategy counsel and support to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation's Global Programs, after joining the foundation in 2006 as COO. Previously, Scott was President and CEO of Seattle-based Group Health Cooperative.

OptimizeRx Corporation Announces Board Changes    

OptimizeRx appointed Lynn O'Connor Vos, CEO of Grey Healthcare Group, as a member of the company's Board of Directors. David Lester resigned as a member of the company's Board of Directors.                                                                                     

EMS Find Announces Formation of Viva Entertainment Group; Appoints Johnny Falcones to its Board  

EMSFind, provider of the on-demand mobile platform designed to connect healthcare providers and consumers, appointed Johnny Falcones, 46, as President and CEO of its newly formed Viva Entertainment Group and to the Board of Director of EMSFind. Falcones has worked as in development and management of stars and music events in the popular music business, as well as production and marketing of music events, for some of which he has acted as executive producer. 

Attune Technologies Expands its Senior Leadership Team     

Attune Technologies, a startup that makes cloud-based software for hospitals and labs, hired Harish Sivaraman as SVP for Projects & Implementation and Rajlakshmi Raghavan has been appointed as SVP and Head of Marketing.

Harish Sivaraman brings with him over 20 years of experience in healthcare, BPS and IT Services. Prior to joining Attune Technologies, he was part of Medall Healthcare. Sivaraman comes with expertise in healthcare ecosystem and has driven large BPS companies to scale.

Raghavan brings over 18 years of rich experience in sectors such as advertising, direct marketing, event management, PR, corporate communication and consulting.

Nightingale Informatix Corporation Announces Executive Changes  

Nightingale Informatix’s Chairman Brian Schachter decided not to stand for re-election to the Board of Directors. Schachter has been the CEO and President of Counseltron, since 1984.

The Board nominated and approved independent director David Atkins as the new Chairman of the Board. Atkins was a Senior Adviser to Lang Michener, Barristers & Solicitors, from 1999 to 2007. Prior to that, he was a partner at Coopers & Lybrand, Chartered Accountants.                                     

CompuMed Appoints iCEO as CEO Steps Down; Board Members Leave

W. Scott Rombach has resigned as President, CEO, and Director of enterprise telemedicine solutions company CompuMed. Lee Keddie and David Pointer, existing Directors, will serve in the role of interim Co-CEOs for the company. Board Members Jeremy Weiner and Daniel McCarthy have resigned from the Board of Directors.

EasyMed Technologies Announces Management Appointments        

EasyMed Technologies elected the following individuals to be directors for the ensuing year: Jack Bal, Rajen Janda and Charn Deol. The directors appointed Janda as CEO and Jared Scharf as CFO. Bal is CEO at CMC Metals and former President at Cardiff Energy Corp.

Deol specializes in cross-cultural negotiations, evaluation and development of international contract agreements and due diligence. Deol has many years of experience in raising capital in the North American capital markets.

Janda brings years of experience in property management and financial accounting.

Scharf's background is in private investment and management consulting in the areas of corporate finance and financial accounting. Scharf also served as the CFO of Desert Gold Ventures, a publicly traded mining exploration company.

Razorfish Health Names SVP, Group Creative Director           

Razorfish Health, a brand of Razorfish, and a member of the Paris-based Publicis Groupe, named Stephanie McGee as a SVP, group creative director. McGee has been in the creative industry for nearly two decades, spending the last fifteen years in consumer and professional healthcare advertising. She has been promoted to this role from VP creative director. Prior to joining Razorfish Health, McGee was a VP, creative director at Rosetta.

HealthFore Technologies Limited Announces Executive Changes

HealthFore Technologies, a India-based healthcare IT solutions and advisory services company, has approved the resignation of Maninder Singh Grewal from the position of Managing Director and Key Managerial Personnel of the Company. He will continue to act as Director and Non-executive Chairman of the Company from January 01, 2016.

The Board approved the appointment of Varun Sood as CEO and designating him as one of the Key Managerial Personnel. Varun Sood is currently CIO and Head Strategic Initiatives at Fortis HealthcareLimited, India's fastest growing healthcare delivery company.

Population Health Management Software Company Appoints Sales and Marketing Leader from Cardinal Health

ZeOmega announced Christopher A. Brown as the company's new SVP of sales and marketing. Brown joins the company from Cardinal Health Specialty Solutions, where as VP of sales, he helped develop and launch the company's healthcare analytics product strategy.

Valence Health Appoints Chief Medical Officer

Valence Health announced that W. Roy Smythe, MD has joined the company as its Chief Medical Officer. Prior to Valence Health, Dr. Smythe was the first CMO for AVIA and CEO of HX360, a HIMSS/AVIA joint venture. Concurrently with his role at Valence Health, Dr. Smythe will continue to serve as a senior advisor to the executive leadership team at HX360.

Zest Health Names Former WebMD Exec as CEO

Zest Health has named experienced health technology executive and entrepreneur Ann Mond Johnson as CEO. Previously, she served as Chairman, Board of Managers and Advisor for ConnectedHealth. Prior, Mond Johnson served as SVP at WebMD after selling Subimo, where she was CEO and Co-founder, to the healthcare information giant in 2006. She also served as SVP at Sachs Group (now part of Truven Health).

Pilgrim Quality Solutions Appoints HR VP

Pilgrim Quality Solutions appointed Nicole DeBourg to VP of Human Resources. For more than 20 years, Nicole has been both a practitioner in corporate HR leadership roles as well as leading her own consulting practice. Prior to joining Pilgrim, she was president of InPocket HR Consulting.

CRF Health CFO Joins Clinical Ink

Clinical Ink announced Jeffrey S. Payne as CFO. Payne joins Clinical Ink from CRF Health, where he helped lead the company through a rapid growth phase as CFO. During his tenure, CRF Health grew significantly and was named to the Deloitte Fast 500 list three years in a row.

Limeade’s New Director Adds Industry, Operations and Culture Expertise to Board

Limeade, a corporate wellness technology company, welcomed Danroy 'Dan' Henry, CHRO of Bright Horizons, to its board of directors. Henry is co-founder of the DJ Dream Fund. He brings over 25 years of experience at global leaders like Pepsi, Reebok, Staples and FleetBoston Financial.

Redbrick Health Announces Executive Appointments 

RedBrick Health appointed Patrick Midden to lead the company's ongoing privacy and security initiatives, and will oversee its compliance programs. Additionally, Dr. Andrew Mellin joins RedBrick Health as VP, Medical Director.

Midden joins RedBrick from Batison Consulting, where he developed privacy, security and compliance programs for clients. Prior to his role as a consultant, he led compliance efforts at Prime Therapeutics, where he served as the privacy officer.

Dr. Mellin brings 15 years of health IT leadership. In his previous work at McKesson, Dr. Mellin formed an innovation group that developed a real-time quality analytics solution for health systems and created several patents and pending patents for health IT. He also spent 15 years as a hospitalist at United Hospital in Saint Paul, Minnesota.

LifeNexus Promotes Application Development Exec to CTO  

LifeNexus reported that Kris Jamsa has been named CTO. Dr. Jamsa joined LifeNexus in 2014 as the Director of Application Development. In that role, he led multiple design and development teams through the process of creating the first iChip mobile application. As CTO, he has seen that project through to completion as iChip Mobile launched in Google Play and iTunes stores earlier this month.

ABILITY Network Appoints CFO and SVP of Product Management

John A. Gappa has joined ABILITY Network as EVP and CFO. Prior to joining ABILITY, Gappa served as the SVP and CFO for MOM Brands Company, and led the recent sale of the company to Post Holdings. Gappa also served four years as SVP and CFO of Universal Hospital Services (UHS), a leading nationwide provider of healthcare technology management and service solutions to the healthcare industry.

Stan E. Opstad has joined as SVP of Product Management. Most recently he was VP, Product Management, at Surgical Information Systems.

American Well Appoints First Chief Medical Officer    

American Well appointed Peter Antall as its first chief medical officer. Antall has expertise as a physician, healthcare entrepreneur and physician manager. In addition to becoming chief medical officer of American Well, Dr. Antall continues to serve as president and medical director of the Online Care Group.

Mike Bertrand has been named SVP of EHR Application Development. Previously, Bertrand served as VP of Product Development at HealthWyse and was VP of Software Development at PatientKeeper, a provider of EHR application integration platforms.

Dora Vell

Dora Vell is the Managing Partner of Vell Executive Search, a boutique executive search firm in Boston focused on recruiting technology executives and board members. Vell has successfully completed numerous board member and C-level executive searches, including CEOs, COOs, CIOs, and Vice Presidents - at both public and private companies.

Prior to founding the firm in 2005, Vell was a Partner at Heidrick & Struggles' Technology practice for seven years.  Before her career in executive search, she worked at IBM for 11 years, managing software engineering organizations of 100 people and software sales organizations with revenues of $150 million. She has also served as an executive assistant to the CEO of IBM Canada for one year.
