Citrix Systems, Fort Lauderdale, FL -  $3.1B - July 2015
Citrix Systems’ President & CEO Mark Templeton, 62, plans to retire after twenty years of service at the company. The Citrix Board has initiated a CEO search process and has retained search firm Heidrick & Struggles to assist with the process of identifying and evaluating candidates. Robert Calderoni, Citrix’s Executive Chairman, has been unanimously appointed interim president and CEO.

Atmel Corporation, San Jose, CA -  $1.4B , May 2015 
Steven Laub, president and CEO of microcontroller vendor Atmel, plans to step down Aug. 31, according to the company. Atmel said its board will conduct a search for Laub’s successor. Both internal and external candidates will be considered.

Pelephone Communications, Israel - $1.03B, October 2015
Gil Sharon, CEO of Pelephone, announced that he was ending his tenure after ten years as CEO of the company, following his upcoming appointment as CEO of Discount Investment Corporation. Sharon will be leaving Pelephone in three months, after transitioning the role to his successor.

Shanda Games Limited, China - $714M, November 2014     
Yingfeng Zhang has been appointed as acting CEO and the Board will begin a global search for a permanent successor.

Imation, Minnesota   - $678M, October 2015Imation announced that Bob Fernander, an existing member of the company’s Board of Directors, has been appointed as Interim CEO, effective immediately.

Kulicke and Soffa Industries, Singapore - $612M, October 2015                        
Bruno Guilmart that he will step down as President, CEO and as a Director of the company effective immediately. The Board has named Jonathan H. Chou, Kulicke & Soffa’s SVP and CFO, to fill the role of interim CEO and it has formed a committee to conduct a search for a permanent successor among external and internal candidates.

TeleCity Group, London - $529.6M, September 2014                    
Michael Tobin, who had led the FTSE 250 group for a decade, left the company, with chairman John Hughes taking over executive responsibilities while a replacement is found.

QLogic, Aliso Viejo, CA - $520.2M, August 2015                         
QLogic appointed Christine King as executive chairman and Jean Hu as acting CEO. Hu has served as SVP and CFO since 2011 and will continue in that role and retain her CFO responsibilities while serving as acting CEO. Prasad Rampalli has resigned his positions as president and CEO in order to pursue other opportunities

Blucora, Bellevue, WA - $516.8M, October 2015
Blucora announced that Bill Ruckelshaus will resign his position as President and CEO when a permanent successor has been identified.  At the time of his transition, Mr. Ruckelshaus will assume the role of Vice Chairman of the Board of Blucora.

SDL plc, Berkshire, UK  - $417M, October 2015   
SDL plc announced that its founder and CEO Mark Lancaster will be stepping down from the Board and his role as CEO of the Company with immediate effect and will be leaving the Company on October 31, 2015. The Board will appoint shortly an International Search firm to identify suitable candidates for the position of CEO. In the interim period, David Clayton, currently Non-Executive Chairman of SDL will assume the role of Executive Chairman.

Rocket Fuel, Redwood City, CA - $408.6M, March 2015                           
Rocket Fuel began the process to identify a successor to the company’s CEO, George John. Monte Zweben, an accomplished marketing and technology executive and Rocket Fuel Board member since 2010, has been appointed interim CEO while the company searches for a full-time replacement.

TrueCar, Santa Monica, CA - $206.6M, August 2015                         
Co-founder Scott Painter will step down as CEO later this year, after taking the provider of vehicle pricing and data public in 2014. He will remain as chairman. A board committee is searching for a new CEO and Painter plans to retire when his successor takes office.

Automated Systems Holdings, Hong Kong - $194.7M, September 2015                
Leung Tat Kwong, Simon has resigned as an Executive Director and the CEO of the Company with effect from 1st October 2015; Wang Yueou has been appointed as the Acting CEO of the Company with effect from 1st October 2015 and continues to act as an Executive Director and the Joint Company Secretary of the Company.

Exar,  Fremont, CA  $171.8M, October 2015
Exar Corporation announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Chairman of the Board, Richard L. Leza, as interim President and CEO. Mr. Leza's appointment follows a mutual agreement by the company's Board of Directors and Louis DiNardo that he will step down as President and CEO and as a member of the Board of Directors.

Wi-LAN, Ottawa, Ontario - $98.3M, June 2015                             
CEO James (Jim) Skippen intends to retire and will stay on until such time as a suitable replacement has been identified and hired. A special committee of the Board will immediately begin the search for a new permanent CEO with the assistance of a leading search firm.

GBST Holdings Limited, Queensland, Australia - $87.9M, September 2015   
GBST announced that Stephen Lake announced the board that he intends to retire as managing director and CEO of GBST. As part of the company's succession plan he will be fully involved in selection of a successor and handing over his responsibilities. Mr. Lake will leave the company during 2016, when the handover to the new CEO is completed.

Fireswirl Technologies, Vancouver, BC - $41.2M, September 2015                    
Fireswirl Technologies announced that Tony Lau has resigned as the CEO, President and CTO of the company and as a member of the company's board of directors. Lawrence Ng has been appointed to replace Lau as the company's Interim CEO and has been appointed to the board.

Zix Corporation, Dallas, TX - $50.3M,  July 2015                              
Zix Corporation’s long-serving President and CEO Rick Spurr has decided to step down from those roles after 11 years of successful leadership to pursue personal and charitable interests outside of the company. The board has engaged a nationally recognized executive search firm to conduct a search for the new president and CEO.

GuestLogix,  Toronto, Ontario - $50M, September 2015                    
GuestLogix announced that Brett Proud has advised the Board that effective immediately he is retiring from his position as CEO and Director. Proud has agreed to remain available to the Board and management in a consultative role through the end of the year. A special committee of the Board has begun the search for a new permanent CEO. In the interim, Chairman Louis Belanger-Martin will play a larger role in both the strategic direction of the business, as well as the oversight of critical client and partnership relationships.

Act-On Software, Oregon - $24.9M, October 2015
Act-On Software's CEO and Chairman Raghu Raghavan is stepping aside from the company. Raghavan, who will still be involved with the company, said a new CEO will be named soon. Prior to Act-On, Raghavan helped to start California-based Responsys.

Publishing Technology, Oxfordshire - $21.4M, September 2015                    
Publishing Technology PLC announced that after careful consideration, the Board announced that Michael Cairns has stepped down as CEO with immediate effect and will be replaced as acting CEO by the company's current CTO David Montgomery.

Posera-HDX Limited, Toronto, ON - $16.1M, September 2015                    
Posera-HDX announced that Paul K. Howell has stepped down as CEO effective immediately. Mr. Howell will continue as a director of the company. An interim CEO will be appointed as soon as possible.

Kronologi Asia Berhad, Selangor, Malaysia -  October 2015                   
Kronologi Asia Berhad announced appointment of Mr. Teo Chong Meng Philip Dominic (Executive Director) as Acting CEO and Mr. Tan Wee Seng Gerard (Independent Non-Executive Director) as Non-Executive Chairman.

NETIA SA,  Poland, October 2015  
Netia announced Boguslawa Matuszewska's term as temporary president of its management board (CEO) expired on 06 October. As a member of the company's supervisory board, she was appointed temporarily to perform the duties of the CEO with effect from 06 July for no longer than three months. Netia also announced that she resigned her membership of the company's supervisory board with effect from 06 October.

Wall Street Media Co., New York, NY - October 2015                          
Wall Street Media Co. announced that Jerrold D. Burden immediately resigned as the sole director, CEO, President, Principal Executive Officer and Principal Financial Officer of the company. The company also announced that Jeffrey A. Lubchansky was appointed as the company's sole officer and director, serving as the company's interim CEO, President, Principal Executive Officer and Principal Financial Officer.

Epcylon Technologies, Toronto, ON - September 2015
 Effective on September 22, 2015, the board of directors of Epcylon Technologies accepted the resignation of Jack J. Bensimon as the CEO and member of the board of directors of the company. Gary Schwartz, as director of lead strategies on behalf of the company, will be overseeing the day-to-day operations of the company until a replacement for CEO has been appointed.

Timothy M. Roberts resigned as the Chairman and CEO. No replacements announced yet.

eMoney Advisor Conshohocken, PA - September 2015
Michael R. Durbin named interim CEO of eMoney Advisor. The move follows the decision by eMoney Advisor's founder, Edmond Walters, to step out of his CEO role and leadership position, following 15 years with the company. * Not clear if they are looking for external candidates for permanent CEO role.

Gilat Satellite Networks, Israel - March 2015
Erez Antebi has decided to step down from the position of CEO of Gilat Satellite Networks. Chairman Dov Baharav will assume the position of interim CEO until a new CEO is appointed.

Research Now Limited, Greater London - October 2015
Research Now announced it will begin the process to identify a successor to the company's President and CEO, Kurt Knapton. Mr. Knapton, a pioneer and catalyst in the online survey data collection space, who returned to the company as its President and CEO in 2011, will remain on the Board of Directors following the identification of and transition to his successor. The announcement that Knapton was tendering his resignation to the Board was made on October 13, 2015 to all company employees.

AKADO Group , Moscow, Russia - October 2015                    
Dmitriy Dronov has resigned from the position of CEO and president of the Akado group after working there for only four months. Nikolay Kuzmenko has been appointed acting CEO and president of the group. Kuzmenko earlier worked as the company's first deputy CEO.

Technology CEO Appointments

Dell and EMC, Texas - $24.74B,  October 2015     
Dell and EMC recently announced they have signed a definitive agreement under which Dell, together with its owners, Michael S. Dell, founder, chairman and CEO of Dell, MSD Partners and Silver Lake, will acquire EMC, while maintaining VMware as a publicly traded company. The EMC board of directors approved the merger agreement and intends to recommend that stockholders of EMC approve the agreement. The combination of Dell and EMC will create the integrated technology company. Following completion of the transaction, Mr. Dell will lead the combined company as chairman and CEO.

Indus Towers. India - $2.23B. October 2015
Indus Towers promoted the company's COO (COO) Bimal Dayal to the CEO-Designate with an immediate effect. Dayal succeeds B.S. Shantharaju who has been with Indus Towers for over six years and will be retiring with effect from March, 31 2016. During the next six months, Shantharaju will smoothly transition Bimal to the new role. Dayal has been associated with Indus Towers since 2010 as the COO (COO).

Twitter, San Francisco, CA- $1.85b, October 2015
Twitter has named interim CEO Jack Dorsey as its permanent CEO. Dorsey has served as interim CEO for the past three months, after former Dick Costolo stepped down on 1 July. Mr. Dorsey will remain the head of fast-growing mobile payments company Square, potentially setting up a conflict of interests for the co-founder of both companies.

Xchanging, Greater London, UK - $836m, Sept. 2015
Xchanging plc appointed Craig Wilson as the new CEO. Craig joins Xchanging from HP Enterprise Services.

Daum Kakao , Jeju-do, Korea - $718.2M, Sept. 2015
Kakao has appointed Ji Hoon Rim as its CEO at their recent general meeting.

Axtel S. A. B. De CV, Nuevo Leon, Mexico - $631.7m, October 2015    
Axtel, S.A.B. de C.V. (AXTEL) announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with Alfa S.A.B. de C.V. (ALFA) and Alestra S. de R.L. de C.V. (ALESTRA), ALFA’s wholly-owned telecom subsidiary, to merge AXTEL and ALESTRA. Under the agreed terms, AXTEL will survive as an operating and publicly-traded holding company and is expected to issue new shares to be held by ALFA representing approximately 51% of the combined entity ownership. At closing, Messrs. Rolando Zubirán Shetler and Felipe Canales Tijerina will be appointed as CEO and CFO, respectively, of the combined entity.

21Vianet Group , China  - $541.8M,  October 2015                   
21Vianet Group has appointed Mr. Steve Zhang as the CEO of the company, effective as of October 19, 2015. Mr. Josh Chen, founder of the company, will serve as the Executive Chairman of the Board. Prior to joining 21Vianet, Mr. Steve Zhang served as the President and CEO of AsiaInfo.

Solargiga Energy Holdings Limited, China - $427.2M, September 2015       
The board of directors of Solargiga Energy Holdings Limited announced that Mr. Hsu You Yuan, due to health reasons, has stepped down from the position of CEO of the company and resigned as one of the authorized representatives with effect from 1 October 2015. The Board announced that Mr. Tan Wenhua (Mr. Tan), an executive Director and the Chairman of the Board (the Chairman), has been appointed as the CEO with effect from 1 October 2015. Mr. Tan is an executive Director and the Chairman.

comScore and Rentrak Corporation, Reston,  VA-  $329.2M, September 2015       
comScore and Rentrak Corporation announced that the companies have entered into a definitive merger agreement under which the companies will combine in a stock-for-stock merger. comScore's current CEO, Serge Matta, will lead the combined company as CEO.

Astelit,  Kyyivska, Ukraine - $154.5m, September 2015
Turkcell’s wholly-owned subsidiary life:) announced appointment of Burak Ersoy as its new CEO. Mr. Ersoy will take the helm at the Ukrainian operator as of October 1, 2015. Burak Ersoy joins life:) from Turkcell Turkey, where he was the SVP of Retail and Distribution.

Monitise plc, Greater London, UK - $141.10, September 2015
Monitise plc announced on September 09, 2015 that CEO and board member Elizabeth Buse resigned for personal reasons. Deputy CEO and Chief Commercial Officer Lee Cameron became CEO the same day. The company announced that Buse will remain at the company until the end of October.

Redcentric plc, North Yorkshire, UK - $140.10M, September 2015      
Redcentric plc announced that Fraser Fisher, the COO of the company, will become the CEO of the company on publication of the company's interim results on 9 November 2015, in succession to Tony Weaver, who will remain on the Board as a non-executive Director of the company.

Dhivehi Raajjeyge Gulhun,  Maldives (South Asia) - $138m - September 2015        
Dhivehi Raajjeyge Gulhun has announced the resignation of its CEO and managing director Ismail Waheed. Following the resignation of Ismail Waheed, Dhiraagu's board of directors has appointed Ismail Rasheed as its new CEO and MD. Rasheed has also been appointed as an executive director on the company board. Rasheed, previously served as CEO of Dhiraagu since 2007.

Travelzoo, New York, NY - $135.6M, October 2015       
Travelzoo appointed Holger Bartel as global CEO effective January 1, 2016. The company's current CEO, Chris Loughlin, will leave on December 31, 2015 at his own request to pursue other opportunities. Holger Bartel, who is the chairman of Travelzoo's board of directors since 2010, was CEO from 2008 to 2010.

ClickSoftware Technologies, Israel - $124.6m, October 2015 
ClickSoftware Technologies appointed Tom Heiser as the company's new CEO. Tom will replace Paul Ilse, an Operating Partner with Francisco Partners, who initially served as Interim-CEO upon the closure of ClickSoftware's acquisition by Francisco Partners in July 2015.

Cyta Hellas Telecommunications, Greece - $120.8m, October 2015              
Cyta announced Nikos Charalambous as the new CEO of its Greek subsidiary Cyta Hellas. He replaces Christos Limnatitis, who will return to the head office in Nicosia.

Ebiquity plc,   Greater London, UK - $113.5M - October 2015    
The Board of Ebiquity PLC appointed Michael Karg as CEO of the Company with effect from January 1, 2016. Michael Karg succeeds Michael Greenlees who has been CEO of the company for the last 8 years.

INSIDE Secure, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur - $96.1M, September 2015       
INSIDE Secure appointed Amedeo D’Angelo as President and CEO, replacing Rémy de Tonnac in this position. Prior to joining INSIDE Secure, Amedeo D’Angelo spent a large part of his career at executive positions in high-tech companies. In particular, he spent more than 20 years of his career in the field of security and payment. He has held top management positions in global companies including Gemplus Cards International, now Gemalto, as President.

Iteris, Santa Ana, CA - $72.5M, September 2015 
Iteris has appointed Joe Bergera as president, CEO and director, effective September 23. He will succeed interim CEO, Kevin Daly, who will continue to serve on the company’s board of directors. This appointment represents the culmination of the company’s six-month nationwide CEO search. Bergera served as Group VP for Software of Roper Technologies since 2011 and as President of iTradeNetwork, a Roper subsidiary since 2013.

Velocity Technology Solutions, Charlotte, NC - $72.3M, September 2015
Velocity Technology Solutions announced that Keith Angell has been appointed as President, CEO and a member of the Board of Directors. Prior to joining Velocity, Angell was President, Global Services for Virtustream.

MTN Zambia Limited, Zambia - $70M, October 2015                 
Charles Molapisi has been hired as new CEO by MTN Group for MTN Zambia. Since 2012, Molapisi, who has worked as chief information officer at MTN Nigeria and takes up the role from Abdul Ismail who has now stepped down.

Buchanan & Edwards, Arlington, VA - $68.1M,  October 2015
Buchanan & Edwards has named Amy Bleken as its new CEO. Bleken has 15 years of experience as a senior executive, including service at CGI Federal and Stanley Associates.

SIOS Technology, San Mateo, CA - $66.3M, October 2015                  
SIOS Technology  announced two executive level appointments. Jerry Melnick has been named president and CEO and Charles Lenis has joined the company as senior vice president of worldwide sales.

Rangsons Electronics, Karnataka, India - $65.3M, October 2015
Cyient Limited appointed Dr. Venki Padmanabhan as CEO of Rangsons Electronics. Pavan Ranga, the CEO of Rangsons Electronics for 15 years, will move into the role of non-executive director representing the Ranga family's ownership in REPL, as part of this transition. Prior to joining Rangsons Electronics Dr. Padmanabhan was the manging director and CEO of English Indian Clays Limited.

Vernier Software & Technology, Oregon - $57.1M, September 2015 
John Wheeler, long-time employee and co-owner, is the company's new CEO. Wheeler has been working at Vernier since 1993 prior to being named CEO; Wheeler was the CTO and head of engineering.

Orange Armenia, Armenia - $56.5M, October 2015      
Alexander Easyan has been appointed as CEO of Orange Armenia. Easyan replaces Francis Gelibter in the role.

Amplify Education, New York - $50.8M, September 2015        
Amplify announced that Joel Klein, the former New York City school chancellor who led the education business at News , is to remain a director at News  and Amplify. Amplify executive Larry Berger replaces him as CEO.

Yuuzoo, Singapore - $45.2M, September 2015    
YuuZoo Corporation appointed James Sundram as CEO, effective October 1, 2015. James Sundram joins YuuZoo from the position as Managing Director (International) for, where he successfully led the charge and oversaw the growth strategy and profitability for Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand.

Quest Solution, Nevada - $44.5m - October 2015           
Quest Solution announced that in connection with the closing of the merger between Quest Solution and Viascanqdata, Gilles Gaudreault has been named CEO and a director of the company.

AgJunction, Kansas - $39.4B, October 2015         
AgJunction  completed the merger with Novariant  Dave Vaughn, CEO of Novariant, will be appointed CEO of the combined company and former AgJunction CEO, Rick Heiniger, will be named Senior Project Advisor to the CEO.

ViXS Systems, Ontario - $37.9M, September 2015        
ViXS Systems appointed Sohail Khan to the position of President and CEOMr. Khan was President and CEO of SiGe Semiconductor. Mr. Khan also has extensive capital markets experience that includes the spinout and IPO of Agere Systems from Lucent Technologies.

Suncorp Technologies, Hong Kong - $37.2M, September 2015 
The Board of Suncorp Technologies Limited announced that, with effect from September 13, 2015, Lu Yi has been appointed as the CEO of the Group. Lu Yi, aged 30, has been residing in the People's Republic of China for many years and possesses extensive network and connections which will be instrumental to the Group's future development in the PRC market.

AppDynamics, California - $31.7M, September 2015     
AppDynamics announced that it has appointed David Wadhwani as CEO. Wadhwani joins AppDynamics from Adobe where he was responsible for the Digital Media Business Unit, overseeing its business and product transformation to the cloud.

Qumu Corporation, Minnesota - $28.9M, October 2015             
Qumu Corporation announced that Vern Hanzlik, currently President and COO, will succeed Sherman L. Black to become President and CEO, effective October 19, 2015.

Mirantis, California - $28.2M, October 2015          
On October 1, 2015, Mirantis announced that chairman Alex Freeland will succeed Adrian Ionel as CEO. Ionel is leaving to launch a new venture. The company said that Ionel will remain a board advisor and large shareholder. Freedland, most recently served as president of the company.

Affini Technology Limited, Hampshire - $24.9M, October 2015
affini Technology Limited appointed Kevin Newport as CEO and technology expert Professor William Webb as head of consulting.

Zitius Service Delivery AB, Stockholm County - $24.2M, September 2015     
Zitius announced that it has appointed Haval van Drumpt as its new CEO from November 15, 2015. He joins the company from Halebop, the MVNO running on the Telia network. He has been CEO there since 2013. Zitius says he has an ability to expand companies and develop brands.

Turn, California - $23.4M, September 2015        
Turn has appointed Bruce Falck as CEO. According to a company release, Falck joins Turn from Yahoo's BrightRoll, where he served as COO and led all business functions through its acquisition. 

Publishing Technology, Oxfordshire - $21.4M, October 2015               
Publishing Technology plc confirmed the appointment of the company's current Chief Technology Officer David Montgomery as CEO. David joined the Group in November 2014 from Inspired Thinking Group where he held the position of Managing Director of Software Operations.

SLI Systems Limited, New Zealand - $19.1M, September 2015
SLI Systems appointed Chris Brennan as the company's new CEO and the transition of founding CEO Dr. Shaun Ryan to a new role of Chief Innovation Officer.  Brennan is a former founder, CEO, and Chairman of SaaS security vendor NetAuthority, CEO of cloud services provider Contactual and president and CEO of enterprise software vendor LogLogic.

Nearmap, New South Wales - $18.2M, October 2015                 
Nearmap announced that Dr. Rob Newman has been appointed as Managing Director. Dr. Newman was previously a Non-Executive Director of company having joined the board in 2009. Simon Crowther, the previous Managing Director, has left the company. Gerhard Beukes has been promoted to COO. He will also continue in his role of CFO.

SNAP Interactive, New York  - $13.2M, October 2015                  
Effective as of October 13, 2015, Snap Interactive appointed Alexander Harrington as the Company’s CEO. Mr. Harrington served as the company’s COO and CFO since March 2014 and will retain the role of CFO in connection with the transition.

RainKing Solutions announced that it has received a $67 million investment from Spectrum Equity. In conjunction with the equity investment, John Stanfill will assume the title of CEO effective immediately.

Coban Technologies, Texas - $8.3M, October 2015      
COBAN Technologies announced that the Board of Directors has unanimously elected Doug Dickerson as CEO effective from October 5, 2015. Dickerson will also become a member of the Board. Dickerson succeeds COBAN's current President and CEO Allan Chen who announced his desire to assume technology leadership role. Previously, he served as the President of Danaher Tektronix Communications.

Infogain Corporation announced that Infogain and Blue Star Infotech have entered into definitive agreements under which Infogain will acquire Blue Star Infotech’s IT operations. Kapil Nanda, President and CEO of Infogain, will continue in this role. Sunil Bhatia will join Infogain’s management team as its CEO designate, and will assume his new responsibilities as CEO of the combined entity on July 1, 2016. At that time, Kapil Nanda will transition to his role as full-time Executive Chairman.

Dora Vell

Dora Vell is the Managing Partner of Vell Executive Search, a boutique executive search firm in Boston focused on recruiting technology executives and board members. Vell has successfully completed numerous board member and C-level executive searches, including CEOs, COOs, CIOs, and Vice Presidents - at both public and private companies.

Prior to founding the firm in 2005, Vell was a Partner at Heidrick & Struggles' Technology practice for seven years.  Before her career in executive search, she worked at IBM for 11 years, managing software engineering organizations of 100 people and software sales organizations with revenues of $150 million. She has also served as an executive assistant to the CEO of IBM Canada for one year.

Vell holds seven worldwide software patents. She has published several Business of Leadership reports on governance and leadership and has been quoted in numerous articles including The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Business Week, Fortune, Agenda Week, MSNBC, Mass High Tech, the OPUS for the World Economic Forum, Boston Business Journal, The Globe & Mail, CIO Magazine, and IEEE. She also has been a featured speaker on leadership at numerous conferences and at Columbia University's MBA program.

Vell is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), the Boston CEO Roundtable. She has served on the boards of Framingham State, Entrepreneur's Organization, Goodwill, Mary Centre for developmentally handicapped adults,, and RBC Capital Partners.

She has received an MBA from the University of Toronto, a Master in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, and a Bachelor in Computer Science from Carleton. She has also completed the MIT Entrepreneurial Master’s program.
