Merck Appoints Retired Accenture CFO to Board

Merck appointed Pamela J. Craig, 58, retired CFO of Accenture, to the company’s board of directors. Craig served as the CFO of Accenture from 2006 until her retirement in 2013. During her 34 years at Accenture, she held a variety of consulting, line management, operational and finance leadership roles. 

Coke CFO Joins Delta Air Lines' Board

Delta Air Lines' board named Kathy N. Waller as its newest member. Waller is the EVP and CFO of The Coca-Cola Company. Prior to her appointment as Coca-Cola's CFO in 2014, Waller served as its VP, Finance and Controller. She joined Coca-Cola in 1987 as a Senior Accountant and has assumed roles of increasing responsibility during her career. Prior to joining The Coca-Cola Company, Waller worked for the firm now known as Deloitte.

Boston Scientific Appoints Director with Significant Financial Services Experience

Boston Scientific Corporation elected Donna A. James, 58, to its board. James is the founder and managing director of Lardon & Associates, a business development and executive advisory services firm. James has more than 30 years of diverse management and leadership experience, including serving as the former president of Nationwide Strategic Investments, a division of Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company, where she had direct responsibility for developing and executing strategies for U.S. and global financial services subsidiaries and affiliates. James is also the founder and chair of The Center for Healthy Families, a non-profit in Columbus, Ohio, and the former president and appointed chair of the National Women's Business Council.  

Amphenol Appoints Company Veteran and EVP as Board Member

Amphenol Corporation, the producer of electronic and fiber optic connectors, cable and interconnect systems, appointed Diana G. Reardon, 56, to the Board. Reardon has been an employee of the Company for approximately 27 years, serving as CFO and SVP and later EVP since 2004. Prior to that, she served as Controller and Treasurer of the Company. Reardon is a certified public accountant having worked for Price Waterhouse after graduating.

Caterpillar’s Tech Chief Joins Polaris’ Board

Polaris Industries, the manufacturer of snowmobiles, ATV, and neighborhood electric vehicles, appointed Gwenne Henricks to the Company’s Board of Directors. Henricks is VP of Product Development & Global Technology and CTO for Caterpillar. She joined Caterpillar in 1981, and during her thirty-four year career she has held numerous engineering and executive roles progressing in scope and complexity.

Digital Asset Holdings’ CEO is Now Non-Executive Chairman of Santander Consumer USA

Santander Consumer USA Holdings named Blythe Masters, 46, as non-executive Chairman. Masters is CEO of Digital Asset Holdings, a FinTech company which provides digital technology to enhance settlement and recording of both digital and mainstream financial assets. She succeeds Stephen Ferriss, who served as Interim Chairman, and remains on the Board. Prior to leading Digital Asset Holdings, Masters held senior executive roles at J.P. Morgan Chase, where she served as the head of its global commodities business, as the head of Corporate & Investment Bank Regulatory Affairs, and as CFO of J.P. Morgan's investment bank.

Former CACI CTO Appointed Board Member at Alliant Energy

Public utility holding company Alliant Energy Corporation named Deborah B. Dunie as director. Dunie most recently served as EVP and CTO of CACI International, an information solutions and services company in the government sector. Prior to that, she served in various key information policy positions in government and private businesses such as the Department of Defense - Office of the Secretary of Defense, Oracle Corporation, Raytheon Company, Martin Marietta (now part of Lockheed Martin), General Electric and ITT Corporation. In 2015, she joined the board of SAIC.

RealPage Adds Board Member with Consumer Marketing and Consumer Finance Expertise

RealPage, the provider of SaaS to the rental housing industry, has added Kathryn V. Marinello, 59, to its board of directors. Marinello also serves on the boards of General Motors, AB Volvo Group, and Neilson Holdings. Marinello was previously Chairman and CEO of Stream Global Services, and also had served as Chairman and CEO of Ceridian, in addition to positions at Fleet Commercial Finance and First Data Corporation.

Marketo Appoints Time's Marketing EVP to Board

Marketo appointed Lynne Biggar, 52, EVP of consumer marketing and revenue at Time, Inc. to its board of directors. Prior to joining Time Inc. in November 2013, Biggar was an EVP and a member of the Global Management Team at American Express. Before joining American Express in 1992, Biggar held various positions in international strategy and marketing.

Dora Vell

Dora Vell is the Managing Partner of Vell Executive Search, a boutique executive search firm in Boston focused on recruiting technology executives and board members. Vell has successfully completed numerous board member and C-level executive searches, including CEOs, COOs, CIOs, and Vice Presidents - at both public and private companies.

Prior to founding the firm in 2005, Vell was a Partner at Heidrick & Struggles' Technology practice for seven years.  Before her career in executive search, she worked at IBM for 11 years, managing software engineering organizations of 100 people and software sales organizations with revenues of $150 million. She has also served as an executive assistant to the CEO of IBM Canada for one year.

Vell holds seven worldwide software patents. She has published several Business of Leadership reports on governance and leadership and has been quoted in numerous articles including The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Business Week, Fortune, Agenda Week, MSNBC, Mass High Tech, the OPUS for the World Economic Forum, Boston Business Journal, The Globe & Mail, CIO Magazine, and IEEE. She also has been a featured speaker on leadership at numerous conferences and at Columbia University's MBA program.

Vell is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), the Boston CEO Roundtable. She has served on the boards of Framingham State, Entrepreneur's Organization, Goodwill, Mary Centre for developmentally handicapped adults,, and RBC Capital Partners.

She has received an MBA from the University of Toronto, a Master in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, and a Bachelor in Computer Science from Carleton. She has also completed the MIT Entrepreneurial Master’s program.
