SAP Names New President to Head Latin America Organization; Marketing Exec Joins Hortonworks

SAP has appointed Claudio Muruzabal as the new president for SAP Latin America & the Caribbean (LAC). Muruzabal was previously CEO of NEORIS. With more than 25 years in the IT industry, Muruzabal successfully lead the evolution of NEORIS from being the IT branch of CEMEX, to becoming a global fast growth business and IT consulting company. During his 10 year tenure, NEORIS achieved global partner status with SAP. Previously, Muruzabal served as VP of NCR’s Teradata for Latin America and the Caribbean, and also held numerous executive positions throughout his 17 year career at NCR. 

Muruzabal takes over from Rodolpho Cardenuto, who became interim president of SAP Latin America, in addition to his role as president of SAP’s Global Partner Operations.

Ingrid Burton, SAP’s SVP of technology and innovation marketing leaves. She has joined open-source Hadoop vendor Hortonworks as CMO. Prior to SAP, she was CMO at both Silver Spring Networks and Plantronics, as well as more than 15 years holding senior marketing roles at Sun Microsystems and software development roles at GTE, Megatek and United Technologies.

HP Software, Network Security VP Joins ForeScout as CMO

Former Hewlett-Packard VP Rob Greer joined network security and monitoring tools company ForeScout Technologies as CMO. Greer was at HP for more than two years, serving as VP and GM of HP Software, Network Security, responsible for leading the company's HP TippingPoint enterprise network security business. Before joining HP he led the launch of Symantec's enterprise mobile security business as VP and GM of enterprise mobility.

Salesforce’s EVP and Former CFO Retires Finally; VP of Marketing Insights Leaves

Graham Smith, 54, who retired as CFO earlier this year but continued as an EVP, finally retires from Salesforce. He had served as CFO since March 2008. Smith was replaced by current CFO Mark Hawkins in August 2014.

Yext, a digital presence management platform, hired Jeffrey K. Rohrs, VP of marketing insights at Salesforce, as the company’s CMO. Rohrs joined Salesforce as part of its $2.5 billion acquisition of ExactTarget in 2013. With ExactTarget, Rohrs helped the company move from a specialized email marketing solution into a publicly-traded marketing cloud platform. He also created ExactTarget’s Subscribers, Fans and Followers research series.

Adobe Names former Oracle, Microsoft exec as CTO and SVP of Platform Technology & Services

Adobe named Abhay Parasnis as CTO and SVP of platform technology and services. Parasnis brings nearly 20 years of experience in the software industry. Most recently, he was president and COO of venture-funded enterprise mobility leader Kony. He previously held a variety of enterprise technology, platform and cloud roles at companies including Microsoft, i2, Oracle and IBM.

Nintendo President Satoru Iwata Passes Away

Satoru Iwata, the president of Nintendo since 2002 and CEO of Nintendo of America since 2013, has died at the age of 55. Iwata came to Nintendo during one of its roughest patches, the transition to modern 3-D consoles, and oversaw its greatest comeback, the twin successes of the casual-gamer-minded Nintendo DS platform and Wii platforms, in the mid-2000s.

Activision Blizzard Goes Through Board Changes; Appoints Directors from Consumer and Media Domain

Activision Blizzard elected Hendrik J. Hartong III, 47, and Casey Wasserman, 41, as new board members. Richard Sarnoff, 57, resigned from the Company's Board. Hartong is the chairman and CEO of Brynwood Partners, a private equity firm specializing in the consumer products sector. Hartong joined Brynwood Partners in 2004 as a managing partner, after the firm's divestiture of one of its portfolio companies, Lincoln Snacks Company, a food products company. He was the president and CEO of Lincoln Snacks until 2004. Prior to joining Lincoln Snacks, he held various sales and marketing positions of increasing responsibility with Baskin Robbins USA and Nestlé USA.

Casey Wasserman is the Chairman and CEO of Wasserman Media Group, a leading sports, entertainment and lifestyle marketing and management agency that represents brands, properties and talent on a global basis. Wasserman also serves as President and CEO of the Wasserman Foundation, a private family foundation founded in 1952 by his grandparents Lew and Edie Wasserman.

Sarnoff is Managing Director and Head of the Media & Communications industry group for KKR’s Private Equity platform in the Americas. Prior to this position, he served as a Senior Adviser to KKR, working closely with both investment teams and portfolio companies. Until 2011, he was Co-Chairman of Bertelsmann, and President of Bertelsmann Digital Media Investments (BDMI.)

Former Cisco CFO Joins Red Hat as CFO & EVP, Ops

Frank Calderoni, the former CFO of networking giant Cisco Systems, has joined Red Hat as its CFO and EVP for operations. Calderoni had been CFO at Cisco for 10 years. Calderoni will take over for Red Hat’s current CFO, Charlie Peters, who retires.

CA Technologies Hires Communications Chief from GE Healthcare

CA Technologies has appointed Jeff DeMarrais as SVP and chief communications officer. DeMarrais most recently served as GE Healthcare's Chief Communications Officer and also led the communications strategy to expand GE's Industrial Internet IoT initiative outside the United States. DeMarrais joined GE in 1997 as a publicity manager on NBC's corporate communications team and moved to GE Corporate in 1999. DeMarrais also served as COO for GE global communications for some time. Prior to GE, he worked in public relations at John Wiley & Sons.

NetSuite Hires Industry Experts to Accelerate Cloud to Large Enterprises

SaaS business software company NetSuite appointed Frank Iannotti as the SVP of Enterprise Accounts and Doug Kennedy as the VP of Global System Integrators. Iannotti has more than 20 years of management experience in the technology sector in a variety of leadership roles and joins NetSuite from, where he was the Area VP for Enterprise Accounts. Iannotti has also served in senior sales leadership positions at SAP Americas and PeopleSoft, where he oversaw highly successful enterprise sales teams.

Kennedy comes to NetSuite from Microsoft, where he managed channel operations for Microsoft's Dynamics applications business. He has worked in the computing industry for 29 years and held several executive and senior positions at both Microsoft and Oracle, leading a wide variety of programs and initiatives that span partnering, channels, sales, marketing, customer lifecycle management and customer/partner support services. At NetSuite, Kennedy will be responsible for extending and managing NetSuite's relationships with global system integrators (GSIs).

Infor Appoints CFO From SumTotal Systems

Infor has appointed Jeffrey Laborde as CFO of the Company. Laborde comes to the Company with over 18 years of extensive finance, accounting, and investment experience from his various roles covering the technology industry. Before joining the Company, he served as the CFO of SumTotal Systems. Prior to that, he served as a Managing Director, and prior to that as a VP, of Goldman Sachs in the Technology, Media & Telecom Group, prior to which he served as a VP of Credit Suisse First Boston Technology Group and as a Senior Auditor of Arthur Anderson’s Enterprise Audit Group.

Laborde succeeds Nicole Anasenes who will cease serving as CFO but will continue to serve as a consultant for the Company to ensure a seamless transition.

Oracle CMO Judith Sim Joins Fortinet Board

Cyber security solutions company Fortinet has appointed Judith Sim, CMO at Oracle, to serve as a director of the Company. Sim, who joined Oracle in 1991, brings more than 25 years of marketing experience, drawing from her roles at Oracle where she currently oversees the company’s global marketing programs.

Informatica Names CIO to Boost up Cloud Strategy

Ginna Raahauge joined Informatica, the enterprise data integration and management software company powering analytics for big data and cloud, as SVP and CIO. She is charged with boosting the security of the company’s data and cloud computing platforms and strengthening its cloud strategy. She was most recently CIO of Riverbed Technology. Prior to that, she led the customer value chain management IT organization at Cisco.

Verifone Appoints APAC and China Leaders

e-payment software company Verifone named Steve Aliferis as President of Asia Pacific. He most recently served as head of Business Banking, Product and Australian Financial Services at Westpac Group, one of the largest financial services institutions in Australia and New Zealand. With more than 20 years of experience in the payments and banking industries, Aliferis has held executive management positions with Commonwealth Bank of Australia, National Australia Bank and Assure Worldwide.

Arthur Jiang has joined as SVP and GM for China. Most recently, Jiang served as the vice GM of Aisino Corporation’s payments business, where he led initiatives to drive merchant acquiring and services in China. Jiang has more than 20 years of experience building growing businesses in China’s payments industry. Jiang is the former CEO and a former board member of PAX Technologies, and has also held senior leadership roles with Gemalto (formerly Schlumberger) and Hi Sun Technologies.

ACI Worldwide Named Red Hat CFO, Former Lenovo SVP and Former Fiserv Exec to Board

Electronic payment systems company ACI Worldwide named Charles Peters, Jr., Adalio Sanchez and Thomas Warsop, III to its Board of Directors. Peters currently serves as EVP and CFO at Red Hat. Prior to Red Hat, he served as CFO of Burlington Industries and held senior executive roles at Boston Edison Company and GenRad.

Adalio Sanchez most recently served as SVP at Lenovo Group Limited. Prior to Lenovo, he spent the better part of three decades at IBM  including sixteen years in senior executive and global general management roles.

Thomas Warsop, III currently serves as president and CEO at The Warranty Group, a provider of insurance and insurance services. Prior to that, he served as group president and held various management positions at Fiserv. Previously, he spent nearly eighteen years at Electronic Data Systems, most recently as president of EDS’ Financial Services Industry Group.

SAIC Seeking General Counsel

Science Applications International Corp's EVP and General Counsel, Mark D. Schultz, will be leaving. The company has initiated efforts to conduct a comprehensive search for a successor. Schultz joined SAIC in June 2013, and was responsible for the legal affairs and risk management activities for the company.

Paul H. Greiner, Corporate Secretary and Deputy General Counsel, will assume day-to-day management of the company's legal matters until a permanent replacement is named.

Advent Software Consolidates Management before Completion of SS&C Acquisition; Terminates Roles

Advent Software to restructure or eliminate certain roles as part of an internal reorganization of responsibilities. As a result, the employment of Advent’s EVP, Todd Gottula; EVP, Sales and Solution Management, Chris Momsen; and EVP, Global Customer Experience, Anthony Sperling, will terminate. In addition, Advent expects to eliminate approximately 40 roles in the third quarter of 2015, and may eliminate an additional 15 roles over the next 12 months upon the completion of the pending transaction with SS&C Technologies Holdings.

RealPage Adds Board Member with Consumer Marketing and Consumer Finance Expertise

RealPage, the provider of SaaS to the rental housing industry, has added Kathryn V. Marinello, 59, to its board of directors. Marinello also serves on the boards of General Motors, AB Volvo Group, and Neilson Holdings. Marinello was previously Chairman and CEO of Stream Global Services, and also had served as Chairman and CEO of Ceridian, in addition to positions at Fleet Commercial Finance and First Data Corporation

BU Head Named New COO at Progress Software

Progress Software named Jerry Rulli, president, OpenEdge Business Unit, as COO. Rulli will continue to manage OpenEdge on a day-to-day basis, Michael Benedict, president, will continue to lead Data Connectivity and Integration and Karen Tegan Padir, president, will continue to lead Application Development and Deployment. Benedict and Padir will now report to Rulli.

Rulli joined Progress in August 2014 as president, OpenEdge Business Unit, and in that capacity, has led the company’s flagship business through three quarters of solid growth. Rulli has also been instrumental in expanding the Progress partner programs and international presence and in leveraging the services capabilities attained as part of the BravePoint acquisition to provide partners with a path to modernization. Rulli has more than thirty years of experience in the software and technology industry, having served in executive positions at Iron Mountain and Infor.

Vonage Names Former HP Exec to Lead Product

VoIP service provider Vonage Holdings appointed Omar Javaid as Chief Product Officer. Javaid joins Vonage from Rovi Corporation, a cloud-based entertainment discovery company, where he was SVP and GM of Discovery and Cloud Platforms. Prior to Rovi, he held positions as VP and GM of Commercial Mobility, and VP of Product Management and Marketing for Hewlett-Packard.

Marketo Appoints Time's Marketing EVP to Board

Marketo appointed Lynne Biggar, 52, EVP of consumer marketing and revenue at Time, Inc. to its board of directors. Prior to joining Time Inc. in November 2013, Biggar was an EVP and a member of the Global Management Team at American Express. Before joining American Express in 1992, Biggar held various positions in international strategy and marketing.

Monotype Imaging EVP Resigns

John L. Seguin, 60, EVP of Monotype Imaging intends to resign from his employment with the Company. Seguin has been an EVP of Monotype since August 2006 and is responsible for OEM business. Earlier he served as SVP and GM, Display Imaging.

Intralinks Appoints New CFO from Gartner; Seeking a Global Sales Leader Replacement

Secure enterprise collaboration software and virtual data rooms company Intralinks appointed Chris Lafond as its new EVP and CFO. Lafond is succeeding Derek Irwin, who has left the company to pursue other opportunities. Lafond is an experienced executive leader who most recently was EVP and CFO at Gartner.

Rainer Gawlick, EVP of global sales, will be leaving Intralinks to pursue another opportunity. Intralinks president and CEO Ron Hovsepian will serve as interim head of global sales while the company completes a replacement search.

Evernote Taps Former Google Glass Executive as New CEO

Evernote, the popular cloud-based productivity app provider, announced that Phil Libin will step down as CEO but remain as executive chairman. Chris O’Neill, who most recently ran the business operations at the Google X research unit, will take over as Evernote’s CEO.
