Apple Creates New VP Role for Environment, Policy and Social Initiatives

Apple named Lisa Jackson as its VP of environment, policy and social initiatives. Jackson, who previously served as administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, joined Apple two years ago to head up its environmental initiatives. That role is now broadened. She will also be in charge of the company's education policy programs, its product accessibility work and government affairs.

AT&T’s New Board Member Brings Banking and Foreign Policy Experience

AT&T appointed Richard W. Fisher to its board of directors. Fisher served as the president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas until March 2015. Prior, he was vice chairman of Kissinger McLarty Associates, a strategic advisory firm chaired by former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger.  Before that, Fisher served as Deputy U.S. Trade Representative for President Clinton, and also served as a special assistant to the secretary of the Treasury under President Carter, working on issues related to the dollar crisis of 1978-1979.

Vodafone Arranges New Group Executive Committee

Vodafone announced changes to its European leadership structure by making the Chief Executives of Vodafone's four largest European markets – Hannes Ametsreiter in Germany, Aldo Bisio in Italy, Jeroen Hoencamp in the UK and Antonio Coimbra in Spain –become members of the Group Executive Committee.

The Chief Executive of Vodafone Netherlands, Rob Shuter, will also join the Group Executive Committee and will assume additional leadership responsibilities for Vodafone's smaller European markets. Corporate functions operating at regional level in Europe will be integrated within the respective Group functions.

Vodafone’s Chief Executive for the Europe region, Philipp Humm, will leave the Group later in the year to continue his CEO career outside Vodafone.

Juniper Networks Hires CIO from NVIDIA and SVP, HR from Plantronics

Juniper Networks appointed Bob Worrall as SVP and chief information officer. Worrall joins Juniper Networks with more than 25 years of business and IT leadership experience, most recently at NVIDIA Corporation, where he served as SVP and CIO.

Susan Lovegren has been appointed SVP of HR. Lovegren most recently served as SVP of human resources at Plantronics. She brings more than 25 years of leadership experience, including seven years at Juniper Networks where she served as a corporate VP leading the Company's global business-aligned HR team. Lovegren also leads the Juniper Networks Foundation Fund.

Harris Corporation Appoints Senior Integration and BD Leaders

Harris Corporation, which makes satellite and other communications equipment for businesses and governments, named Sheldon Fox as SVP, Integration and Engineering ]. Fox, formerly President of Harris’ Government Communications Systems segment, has been leading the acquisition integration effort.

Dana Mehnert, formerly President of Harris’ RF Communications segment, has been named SVP, Chief Global Business Development Officer. Mehnert will have responsibility for driving topline growth, leveraging complementary channels, and capturing large multi-year opportunities.

BlackBerry Taps Cisco Exec as Head of Global Sales

BlackBerry appointed Carl Wiese as President, Global Sales. Wiese joins BlackBerry from Cisco, where he spent more than a decade in senior leadership positions, most recently as SVP leading the company's global collaboration business, directing sales and go-to-market strategy. During his tenure at Cisco, Wiese successfully drove the company's sales and deployment for new and emerging technologies that represented some of the company's highest potential growth segments. Previously, Wiese held executive positions at Apple, Avaya, Lucent and Texas Instruments.

Intelsat Hires Marketing VP from Comcast Business

Communications satellite services provider Intelsat S.A. named Karen Schmidt, a veteran marketing executive with more than 25 years’ experience, as VP of Marketing. Schmidt was most recently the VP of Business Marketing at Comcast Business, a division of Comcast, and a key member of the team that grew the division from inception in 2007 to 2014 revenues of $4 billion. Prior to joining Comcast Business, she held executive product and marketing roles at Network Solutions, Concert Communications and MCI Communications.

Infosys’ VP Joins NTT America to Lead Sales for Global Enterprise Services

NTT America, the wholly owned U.S. subsidiary of NTT Communications which provides cloud services, network infrastructure and security services, appointed Jeffrey Bannister as EVP of Sales for NTT America’s Global Enterprise Services. Bannister joins NTT America from Infosys, a multinational business technology and IT services provider, where he served most recently as VP, Cloud and Infrastructure Services. Prior to Infosys, he spent twelve years with Cable and Wireless Communications, a full-service telecommunications company delivering global B2B and B2C network solutions, in a series of advancing roles.

Xiaomi Taps DST Investment Partner as CFO

Chinese phone maker Xiaomi has hired Shou Zi Chew as CFO. Chew had been a partner at DST, Yuri Milner’s Russian investment firm, and an investor in Xiaomi. At DST, Chew was involved in the firm’s investments in Xiaomi, JD.com and Alibaba. Before DST, Chew worked at Goldman Sachs in London.

Dora Vell

She has received an MBA from the University of Toronto, a Master in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, and a Bachelor in Computer Science from Carleton. She has also completed the MIT Entrepreneurial Master’s program.
