AT&T Appoints Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas’ CEO as Board Member

AT&T has appointed Richard W. Fisher, 66, to its board of directors. Fisher served as the president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas from 2005 until March 2015. Prior to that, Fisher was Vice Chairman of Kissinger McLarty Associates. Fisher served as a Deputy U.S. Trade Representative for from 1997 to 2001, where he oversaw the implementation of the North American Free Trade Agreement. He also served as a special assistant to the secretary of the Treasury under President Carter, working on issues related to the dollar crisis of 1978-1979.

CSC Gets Visteon’s Newly Appointed CEO as Director

CSC elected Sachin Lawande, 48, to the company’s Board of Directors. Lawande was recently named CEO of Visteon Corp. Previously he was president of the Infotainment Division of Harman International Industries. Prior to that Lawande served as chief innovation officer, CTO, and co-president of Harman's Automotive Division. Prior to that, he held senior roles at QNX Software Systems and 3Com Corporation. Before joining QNX, he was responsible for the development of networking and consumer electronics systems at corporate giants such as AT&T Bell Labs, U.S. Robotics, and 3Com.

New Chair Appointed at NetApp

Tom Georgens, 54, is stepping down as chairman and CEO, after the data-storage company announced it would lay off 500 workers and issued a disappointing financial forecast. Georgens joined NetApp in 2005 and became CEO in 2009. The Board appointed George Kurian, 48, as CEO.

Lead independent director Mike Nevens is the company’s new chairman. Nevens was appointed to the NetApp board in December 2009. Mike Nevens serves as a senior advisor to Permira, an international private equity fund with 21 billion euros of funds under management. Nevens retired as a director (senior partner) of McKinsey & Co. in 2002 after leading McKinsey's global technology practice.

DataStax CEO Joins Board of Tableau Software

Tableau Software appointed Billy Bosworth to its Board of Directors. Bosworth is President, CEO and member of the board of DataStax, a provider of open-source and big data database technology. Prior to joining DataStax, Bosworth held positions at Quest Software, a provider of systems management software, where his most recent role was VP and GM of the database business unit.

Vodafone CTO Joins FireEye Board

FireEye appointed Stephen Pusey, 53, to serve as a member of the Board. Pusey has served as the Group CTO of Vodafone Group, one of the world's largest telecommunications companies, since 2006, and as a member of its board of directors since 2009. From 1982 to August 2006, Pusey held various positions at Nortel Networks, most recently as EVP and President, Nortel EMEA.

Oracle CMO Judith Sim Joins Fortinet Board

Cyber security solutions company Fortinet has appointed Judith Sim, CMO at Oracle, to serve as a director of the Company. Sim, who joined Oracle in 1991, brings more than 25 years of marketing experience, drawing from her roles at Oracle where she currently oversees the company’s global marketing programs.

Activist Nominees Elected to Shutterfly Board

Marathon Partners Equity Management, together with its affiliates, one of the largest shareholders of Shutterfly, had its nominees Mario Cibelli and Thomas D. Hughes, elected to the Shutterfly Board.

Cibelli founded Marathon Partners nearly 20 years ago and has a reputation as a long-term investor. Apart from Shutterfly, his largest holdings are in World Wrestling Entertainment, Xoom, Liberty Interactive, and Blackhawk Network Holdings. Cibelli's fund has a small equity portfolio that has its eyes on the services and consumer goods sectors.

Hughes is a Partner of Cedar Grove Investments. Previously, he served as the President at PhotoDisc, where he was also the Co-founder. Hughes was a Founder and President of Northshore Publishing Systems.

Constant Contact Welcomes New Female Directors

The Board of Directors of Constant Contact elected Julie M. B. Bradley, 46, and Lisa Weinstein to serve as directors of the Company.

Bradley has served as the CFO of TripAdvisor since October 2011. She previously served as the CFO of Art Technology Group, an e-commerce software company, the VP of Finance for Akamai Technologies, and an accountant at Deloitte.

Weinstein is president of global digital, data, and analytics at Starcom MediaVest Group (SMG) where she has been instrumental in pioneering new ways to leverage online, mobile, social, and search, as well as the data those media generate. She serves as the digital guide for some of the biggest marketers in the world, including Coca-Cola, P&G, and Kraft. Prior to SMG, she ran Mindshare Chicago where, at 32 years old, she was the youngest person to ever run an office for the agency and oversaw more than $1 billion in billings for brands including BP and Motorola.

Millennial Media Names Board Member and former Nexage CEO as COO

Millennial Media, the leading independent mobile ad marketplace, appointed former Nexage CEO and President Ernie Cormier as COO. Following the Company’s acquisition of Nexage in 2014, Cormier served on Millennial Media’s Board. He will be stepping down from the board. Prior to Nexage, Cormier served as CEO & President of Zeemote, a mobile gaming and consumer electronics company that was sold to Aplix in 2009. He has also held executive positions at Virgin Media in the U.K., Nextel Communications, and Lagardere Group.

Square’s New Board Member is Successful Entrepreneur and Advocate for Economic Inclusion

Square, the financial services, merchant services aggregator and mobile payments company, appointed business leader, philanthropist, and basketball hall of famer Earvin "Magic" Johnson to its Board of Directors. Johnson is currently the Chairman and CEO of Magic Johnson Enterprises, as well as the Chairman and Founder of the Magic Johnson Foundation, which develops programs and supports community-based organizations that address the educational, health, and social needs of ethnically diverse, urban communities.

Dora Vell

Dora Vell is the Managing Partner of Vell Executive Search, a boutique executive search firm in Boston focused on recruiting technology executives and board members. Vell has successfully completed numerous board member and C-level executive searches, including CEOs, COOs, CIOs, and Vice Presidents - at both public and private companies.

Prior to founding the firm in 2005, Vell was a Partner at Heidrick & Struggles' Technology practice for seven years.  Before her career in executive search, she worked at IBM for 11 years, managing software engineering organizations of 100 people and software sales organizations with revenues of $150 million. She has also served as an executive assistant to the CEO of IBM Canada for one year.

She has received an MBA from the University of Toronto, a Master in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, and a Bachelor in Computer Science from Carleton. She has also completed the MIT Entrepreneurial Master’s program.
