August 2014 - Mitek said CTO Michael Strange left his position effective Aug. 15 to pursue other opportunities. Mitek named Fritz Hesse as interim VP of engineering.

August 2014 - Robert Brese will leave his post at the Energy Department as CIO on Sept. 5, Federal News Radio reported. The station reports that deputy DOE CIO Dan Adcock will succeed Brese on an interim basis.

Ziggo is the largest cable operator in the Netherlands, providing cable television, broadband Internet, and telephone service. It has been taken over by Liberty Global Plc, the European cable company for about $7 billion.

July 2014 - Dutch operator Ziggo announced that Paul Hendriks, CTO at Ziggo will step down. Kamran Ziaee will be appointed as CIO on an interim basis.

September 2014 - The CIO of e-commerce giant Asos, Pete Marsden, has stepped down from his post after two years at the company. A process to find Marsden's successor is underway, and that the firm is ruling out neither internal or external appointments.

RedFin Network: The real estate brokerage firm appointed SVP, Engineering Bridget Frey as CTO.

WRAPmail: The technology solutions provider in a platform for business efficiency named Greg Partin, software development of internet-based enterprise systems expert, as CIO.

Ryder System: Melvin (Mel) Kirk who joined Ryder in 2012 as VP of Maintenance, Engineering & Quality Operations within the Fleet Management Solutions organization, has been named CIO.


Concurrent: The provider of software, hardware and professional services for the video market added former SecureWorks engineering SVP Dale Gonzalez as CTO.

Harbin Clinic: The physician-owned, multi-specialty clinic in Georgia, has named Andrew Goodwin as CIO. Most recently CIO at the Georgia Hospital Association in Marietta, GA.


Optiv Security: The company formed by the merger of Accuvant and FishNet Security hired Sitel’s CTO Anthony Crutcher as new CIO.


Amedisys: Home nursing company Amedisys appointed Martin Howard as CIO from Deloitte.


ShoeBuy: The shoe shopping site named former IBM Global Services exec Paras Mehta as CTO.


Diplomat Pharmacy: Pharmacy company appointed Data Recognition’s director of information security and service management Shannon Beltrand as its CISO.


Infogroup: Infogroup named Matthew Higgins as CTO for Data Axle. Higgins was instrumental with the design and development of Data Axle while at GoTime, which Infogroup acquired in 2012.

Dora Vell

Dora Vell is the Managing Partner of Vell Executive Search, a boutique executive search firm in Boston focused on recruiting technology executives and board members.
