Leidos Health Names VP to Grow Vendor Practice

Leidos, a health, national security and engineering solutions company, appointed Douglas Herr as VP for its Epic vendor practice for its Health and Engineering business unit. Prior to Leidos Health, Herr was SVP for strategic services at Logic Healthcare, where he was responsible for the direct management and oversight of the Epic, MEDITECH and Cerner practices. Herr also held leadership roles in client and vendor relations at Stoltenberg Consulting, maxIT Healthcare and ACS Healthcare Solutions.

MedHOK’s New Chief Growth Officer Brings in Healthcare IT and BD Experience

MedHOK, the provider of an integrated platform for care, quality and compliance for government-sponsored and other risk-bearing health entities, appointed Doug Fleishman as Chief Growth Officer. Previously, he held the position of EVP of sales at Verisk Health, a leader in healthcare analytics, where he consistently delivered on sales targets.  During his tenure at Verisk Health, Fleishman held senior positions in sales, marketing, account management, channel partnerships, and strategic relationships.

Healthsense Appoints Chief Customer Operations Officer

Healthsense, the fastest growing provider of technology enabled care solutions for the senior care continuum, named Katie Christopherson as Chief Customer Operations Officer. She most recently served as Director of Clinical Service Solutions for Philips Healthcare. Other experience includes senior leadership positions for the State of Georgia Governors’ Office of Customer Service and for health IT and software companies including PICIS; NDCHealths pharma division; Surgical Information Systems; and McKesson HBOC.

Recondo Technology Strengthens Team with Experienced HCIT Execs in Response to Fast-Growing Market Demand

Alicia Hanson joins as SVP of BD, following her tenure as SVP of Revenue Cycle for MedAssets. Kevin Kenny joins as VP of Strategic Sales/East. Kenny is a tenured HIS and revenue cycle sales executive with extensive experience in the Northeast marketplace.

CenseoHealth Appoints New CEO; Board Member and Investor to Become Chairman

CenseoHealth, a provider of in-home physician assessments, named David Brailer as Chairman. Brailer, a CenseoHealth board member and managing partner of Health Evolution Partners, an investor in CenseoHealth, holds the distinction of being America’s first National Coordinator for Health IT.

The company named Kevin McNamara as CEO. McNamara previously was CenseoHealth’s executive chairman. Prior to CenseoHealth, he served as EVP, CFO, and treasurer at managed care organization HealthSpring, and held executive positions with other companies in the healthcare industry.

Healthix Appoints New CIO

Todd M. Rogow, MPA, CSM, PMP has joined Healthix as the new CIO  and SVP. Previous to joining Healthix, Rogow served as the CTO at HealthInfoNet, a leading HIE serving the state of Maine. With 20 years of experience in technology, Rogow is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).

Conversa Health Appoints CTO to Build Out a Robust Product Roadmap

Conversa Health, an innovative provider of patient relationship management services, announced it has closed a $2.5 million seed round with top-tier healthcare angel investors and appointed industry veteran Daniel Dean as CTO. Dean was the CIO for Health Share of Oregon, one of the nation's largest Coordinated Care Organizations (CCOs). He also helped pioneer electronic health records (EHRs) at MedicaLogic/GE, and has held product and technology leadership positions at Responsys, WebMD and Press Ganey.

Stratice Healthcare Welcomes Chief Development Officer with Medical Software Development Experience

Stratice Healthcare, a HCIT company and developer of eDMEplus™, an electronic prescribing platform that connects healthcare providers with home and durable medical equipment suppliers, named Chris Daily as Chief Development Officer. Chris comes to Stratice with more than 30 years of senior-level experience in software development, most recently serving as the VP of Solution Engineering for the Indiana Health Information Exchange (IHIE).

AMC Health Bolsters Sales Team With GE Healthcare Execs

AMC Health, the provider of real-time patient management solutions recognized for improving the effectiveness and efficiency of healthcare for high-risk patients, appointed Robert Anazagasty as VP, Strategic Client Development and Jared Wilstead as VP, Enterprise Sales. Prior to joining AMC Health, Anazagasty was with GE Healthcare in sales and consulting roles. Prior to GE he was with Baylor Healthcare System MSO.

Wilstead served in multiple sales positions with GE Healthcare before joining AMC Health. Most recently, he was responsible for organic and new business growth for an enterprise revenue cycle solution. Wilstead began his career with Cardinal Health, where he had success in driving growth and sales.

Dora Vell

Dora Vell is the Managing Partner of Vell Executive Search, a boutique executive search firm in Boston focused on recruiting technology executives and board members. Vell has successfully completed numerous board member and C-level executive searches, including CEOs, COOs, CIOs, and Vice Presidents - at both public and private companies.

Prior to founding the firm in 2005, Vell was a Partner at Heidrick & Struggles' Technology practice for seven years.  Before her career in executive search, she worked at IBM for 11 years, managing software engineering organizations of 100 people and software sales organizations with revenues of $150 million. She has also served as an executive assistant to the CEO of IBM Canada for one year.

Vell holds seven worldwide software patents. She has published several Business of Leadership reports on governance and leadership and has been quoted in numerous articles including The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Business Week, Fortune, Agenda Week, MSNBC, Mass High Tech, the OPUS for the World Economic Forum, Boston Business Journal, The Globe & Mail, CIO Magazine, and IEEE. Vell is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), the Boston CEO Roundtable. She has served on the boards of Framingham State, Entrepreneur's Organization, Goodwill, Mary Centre for developmentally handicapped adults,, and RBC Capital Partners.

She has received an MBA from the University of Toronto, a Master in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, and a Bachelor in Computer Science from Carleton. She has also completed the MIT Entrepreneurial Master’s program.
