CACI Appoints Accenture’s Health and Public Service COO to lead Healthcare, Litigation & Enterprise IT

Professional services and IT solutions company CACI International appointed Jerry Briggs as EVP and Business Group Manager of Healthcare, Litigation & Enterprise IT. Briggs comes to CACI from Accenture, where his most recent position was Chief Operating Officer, Health & Public Service North America. In a previous role as Managing Director, U.S. Federal Business, he managed 4,000 employees and more than $1 billion in annual revenue while profitably growing the business 5 to 10 percent above market.

Quality Systems Appoints Global CIO from Spectrum Brands

Quality Systems, a leading provider of healthcare information systems and connectivity solutions, named Zachary J. Sherburne to the post of SVP and global CIO. Prior to joining Quality Systems, Sherburne was CIO and VP of information services in the hardware and home improvement division of Spectrum Brands. Before that, Sherburne was CIO and VP of information services in the Hardware and Home Improvement division of Stanley Black & Decker, principal consultant at CSC, senior manager with Deloitte, beginning his career at Arthur Andersen & Co.

Stanson Health Names Former Goldman Sachs CIO as COO

Stanson Health, a provider of clinical decision support and analytics software named Rick Adam as president and COO. Adam is a former CIO at Goldman Sachs and founder of Recondo Technology, a revenue cycle management software vendor. He was also CIO at Baxter International.

AMC Health Names Former Aetna Exec as Chief Marketing Officer

Remote health monitoring specialist AMC Health named Paul Argay as Chief Marketing Officer. Previously, Argay was Chief Marketing Officer at Resolution Health, a healthcare IT start-up that was acquired by WellPoint. He was also VP of Strategic Marketing for Aetna. Prior to his years in healthcare, he led the creation and introduction of highly successful wireless telecommunications brands, including Sprint Spectrum (the country's first digital wireless service) and Cricket Communications. Argay began his career at Procter & Gamble before moving to progressively higher positions at Nestle and Haagen-Dazs.

New CFO for Healthland and American HealthTech Brings in SaaS and Healthcare Experience 

Todd Laddusaw joined as CFO of Healthland, which focuses on IT solutions in the rural and critical access hospital market, and American HealthTech, which provides integrated technology solutions for the Long Term and Post-Acute Care (LTPAC) industry. Most recently, Laddusaw was CFO of MicroEdge, a provider of software and services to the global giving community. Previously, he was a finance director in the United Health Group system, and has extensive finance experience with industry leaders Thomson Reuters, PwC, and KPMG Peat Marwick.

Explorys Adds Three Healthcare IT Executives to Its Leadership Team

Explorys, the leader in big data-driven healthcare transformation, added three executives to its leadership team: Greg Yarrington as VP of Operations, Adam Wallace as VP of Engineering, and Patrick Wells as VP of Solutions.

Gregory Yarrington was previously VP of Technology Services at Truven Health Analytics and Thomson Reuters’ Healthcare division. He has also led technology programs at the University of Michigan Health System and Medical Center.

Adam Wallace joins as VP of Engineering. Prior to joining Explorys, Wallace held leadership positions at Oracle, BEA, MRI software, and Flashline where he led a wide range of areas including technology strategy, software engineering, services-oriented-architecture (SOA), quality assurance, program management, release engineering, and hosting operations.

Patrick Wells comes to Explorys from Deloitte where he was responsible for implementing solutions to improve Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) initiatives and delivering cybersecurity, information security and information technology governance. Wells has also held leadership roles at CCH-Axentis and McKesson where he managed high growth product and services lines.

Dora Vell

Dora Vell is the Managing Partner of Vell Executive Search, a boutique executive search firm in Boston focused on recruiting technology executives and board members. Vell has successfully completed numerous board member and C-level executive searches, including CEOs, COOs, CIOs, and Vice Presidents - at both public and private companies.

Prior to founding the firm in 2005, Vell was a Partner at Heidrick & Struggles' Technology practice for seven years.  Before her career in executive search, she worked at IBM for 11 years, managing software engineering organizations of 100 people and software sales organizations with revenues of $150 million. She has also served as an executive assistant to the CEO of IBM Canada for one year.

Vell holds seven worldwide software patents. She has published several Business of Leadership reports on governance and leadership and has been quoted in numerous articles including The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Business Week, Fortune, Agenda Week, MSNBC, Mass High Tech, the OPUS for the World Economic Forum, Boston Business Journal, The Globe & Mail, CIO Magazine, and IEEE. She also has been a featured speaker on leadership at numerous conferences and at Columbia University's MBA program.

Vell is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), the Boston CEO Roundtable. She has served on the boards of Framingham State, Entrepreneur's Organization, Goodwill, Mary Centre for developmentally handicapped adults, garage.ca, and RBC Capital Partners.

She has received an MBA from the University of Toronto, a Master in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, and a Bachelor in Computer Science from Carleton. She has also completed the MIT Entrepreneurial Master’s program.
