M*Modal’s Taps New CEO from Experian Health
M*Modal, a leading provider of clinical documentation and Speech Understanding™ solutions, named healthcare IT industry veteran Scott MacKenzie as CEO and a member of the board. MacKenzie joins M*Modal having served as CEO of Passport Health Communications, which was purchased by Experian in 2013. Since the acquisition, he has been President of Experian Health. Prior to that, MacKenzie was part of McKesson as President of RelayHealth Pharmacy Solutions and also held executive positions at Cerner.
Former U.S. Senator and Former Medco CEO Joins Board of Telehealth Services Provider Teladoc
William Frist, a former U.S. senator, and David Snow, former chair and CEO of Medco Health Solutions, have been named to the board of Teladoc, a telehealth services provider.
Senator Frist is a world-renowned cardiothoracic transplant surgeon and a leading authority on health care policy. During his tenure on Capitol Hill, he served on both the Health and Finance Committees, where he was instrumental in passing health care reform legislation and ultimately served as Senate Majority Leader. Senator Frist brings to Teladoc decades of experience in providing top quality patient care, driving health care policy and reform, and a reputation for championing innovations that deliver improved health care outcomes.
David B. Snow, Jr., is a health care industry veteran, innovator and entrepreneur who has created and implemented solutions to manage the rising costs of health care. Most recently, he served as the chairman and CEO of Medco Health Solutions, one of the nation’s largest pharmacy benefit managers. Prior to joining Medco, he served as president and COO at Empire BlueCross BlueShield. Currently, Snow serves as the chairman and CEO of Cedar Gate Technologies, a health care IT data analytics company.
Laboratory and Health Technology Company Medytox Solutions Names New CEO
Seamus Lagan, former CEO of three Medytox Solution subsidiaries, has been named CEO of Medytox, a lab and health IT company operator. He is a longtime consultant to private companies in the United States and abroad.
SeeChange Health Appoints Towers Watson Exec as CEO
SeeChange Health appointed Bryce Williams as President and CEO. Williams succeeds Martin Watson, SeeChange’s founder who has been in the role since 2008, as SeeChange focuses exclusively on its consumer engagement and health improvement platform. Williams is former managing director of the exchange solutions business at benefits consultant Towers Watson. Williams co-founded Extend Health and was its President and CEO from 2004 through the company’s acquisition by Towers Watson in 2012.
Hearst Drug Database Subsidiary First Databank Promotes EVP as President
Charles Tuchinda, former EVP of First Databank (FDB), a drug database subsidiary of the Hearst Corporation, has been named president of First Databank. Prior to his role at FDB, Tuchinda was Hearst Business Media’s Chief Innovation Officer for Healthcare. His work led to the commercialization of new products, including FDB AlertSpace. Prior to joining Hearst, Tuchinda served as VP of BD and product strategy; VP of Acute Care Solutions; VP of content solutions at Eclipsys (now Allscripts).
Tuchinda succeeds Gregory Dorn, MD, who is president of Hearst Health.
