Express Scripts Appoints Sales and Accounts Leader from Aetna

Express Scripts hires David Queller as SVP, Sales and Account Management, responsible for the leadership, strategic direction and oversight of the company's portfolio of business divisions. Queller joins Express Scripts from Aetna, where he was SVP, National Accounts. Prior to working at Aetna for 14 years, he held sales leadership positions at ChannelPoint, an internet infrastructure company, Prudential Healthcare of Central Florida, and Cigna Healthcare.

WebMD Appoints Director with Extensive Leadership Experience in Medical Research and Education 

WebMD appointed Kristiina Vuori, M.D., Ph.D., President and Interim CEO of Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute, to the Company's Board. Dr. Vuori leads the Institute's academic, scientific and general operations. Dr. Vuori also holds the Pauline and Stanley Foster Presidential Chair at the Institute and serves as Professor at the Institute's National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated Cancer Center, an interdisciplinary basic and translational research effort mobilizing over 400 scientists that is one of only seven centers designated as basic cancer research centers by the NCI. From 2005 until 2013, Dr. Vuori also led the Cancer Center.

Experienced Operations Executive Leaves Nightingale Informatix

Trevor Henderson, EVP of Operations of Nightingale Informatix, the cloud-based electronic health record (EHR) and practice management solutions, has left. Before joining the company in 2012, Henderson was SVP & Managing Director at ADESA and OPENLANE, divisions of KAR Auction Services, a provider of diversified automotive auction, technology and financing services across North America.

Health IT Services Company Appoints Engineering Leader to Drive Innovation

Cognosante, a provider of consulting, technology, and BPO services to healthcare organizations, has hired Erick Peters as VP of Solutions and Engineering.  He is a technology-focused professional with extensive senior leadership experience, having served the past few years as LongView International Technology Solutions’ CTO. He previously served as the VP of Architecture and Technology for Vangent.

Assurex Names Procter & Gamble Beauty Care Exec as CEO; Former CEO Elevated as Exec Chair 

Assurex Health, the fast-growing personalized medicine company, appointed Gina Drosos, the former Procter & Gamble executive who ran that company's $6 billion beauty care business, as CEO. Drosos, who joined Assurex last summer as president, succeeds CEO Jim Burns, who will become executive chairman of the board. Burns, a CEO at multiple pharmaceutical and medical devices companies came out of retirement to lead Assurex in 2009.

Drosos, a regular on Fortune's Most Powerful Women list while working at P&G, will continue as Assurex's president when she adds the CEO title.

Board Observer Elected as Chairman of Health Catalyst

Health Catalyst announced that Fraser Bullock, 59, has been elected Chairman.  Bullock is succeeding David A. Burton, MD, 70, who is retiring from the board after serving as board chairman since late 2012, and as a member of the board since 2011.  Dr. Burton will continue to serve as a SVP at Health Catalyst, contributing to R&D associated with its clinical and accountable care products.

Bullock has served as a board observer of Health Catalyst since 2012.  He is co-founder and a managing director of equity firm Sorenson Capital. Bullock was an original partner of Bain Capital from 1984 to 1986 and prior to that worked as a manager at Bain & Company. He also was COO and CFO of the Salt Lake Organizing Committee for the Olympic Winter Games of 2002, widely recognized as one of the most successful and best-operated Olympics in history.

Dora Vell

Dora Vell is the Managing Partner of Vell Executive Search, a boutique executive search firm in Boston focused on recruiting technology executives and board members. Vell has successfully completed numerous board member and C-level executive searches, including CEOs, COOs, CIOs, and Vice Presidents - at both public and private companies.

Prior to founding the firm in 2005, Vell was a Partner at Heidrick & Struggles' Technology practice for seven years.  Before her career in executive search, she worked at IBM for 11 years, managing software engineering organizations of 100 people and software sales organizations with revenues of $150 million. She has also served as an executive assistant to the CEO of IBM Canada for one year.

Vell holds seven worldwide software patents. She has published several Business of Leadership reports on governance and leadership and has been quoted in numerous articles including The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Business Week, Fortune, Agenda Week, MSNBC, Mass High Tech, the OPUS for the World Economic Forum, Boston Business Journal, The Globe & Mail, CIO Magazine, and IEEE. She also has been a featured speaker on leadership at numerous conferences and at Columbia University's MBA program.

Vell is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), the Boston CEO Roundtable. She has served on the boards of Framingham State, Entrepreneur's Organization, Goodwill, Mary Centre for developmentally handicapped adults,, and RBC Capital Partners.

She has received an MBA from the University of Toronto, a Master in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, and a Bachelor in Computer Science from Carleton. She has also completed the MIT Entrepreneurial Master’s program.
