Former ADP Exec Joins ADT Corp. Board

Electronic security, fire protection and other related alarm monitoring services company ADT Corporation appointed Richard J. Daly, the CEO and president of Broadridge Financial Solutions, to Board. Daly has served as the CEO of Broadridge since its spin-off from former parent company, ADP, in 2007. Prior to his current role, Daly served as group president of the brokerage services group of ADP. Before joining ADP in 1989, Daly held senior management positions at Thomson McKinnon Securities and The Independent Election Corporation of America. He worked for Arthur Anderson & Co., and Touche & Ross as a Certified Public Accountant.

Global Supply Chain Solutions Company Appoints Former Amazon Ops Exec to Board 

Global Supply Chain Solutions Company that offers design, manufacturing, distribution and aftermarket services to OEMs, Flextronics, named Marc A. Onetto to the Company's Board. Onetto was the SVP of Worldwide Operations and Customer Service at, leading the supply chain, warehousing, transportation and customer support operations. Before that, he was EVP of Worldwide Operations for Solectron, which was acquired by Flextronics in 2007. Prior to Solectron, he had a successful 15 year career with GE as VP of GE European operations, and held several senior leadership positions at GE Medical Systems as Europe Service VP, Global CIO, and Head of Global Quality and Officer in charge of Global Manufacturing and Supply Chain.

London Stock Exchange Group Board Brings in IT Expertise

London Stock Exchange Group appointed Sherry Coutu and Joanna Shields as Non-Executive Directors, to bring deep knowledge of the IT sector to the board, reflecting the Group’s continued focus on delivering innovative technology solutions.

Sherry Coutu CBE currently serves on the Boards of Cambridge University (Finance Board), Cambridge Assessment, Cambridge University Press, Raspberry Pi, and Artfinder. She also serves on the Advisory Boards of, and a number of not-for-profit companies in the technology and education sectors.   As a former CEO, angel investor and consultant, Coutu possesses a deep understanding of the dynamics of both business to business and business to consumer businesses and has more than 20 years of experience leveraging technology to drive companies from their earliest entrepreneurial stages through to global expansion.

Joanna Shields OBE was appointed by the Prime Minister in October 2012 as Chairman and CEO of Tech City UK and Business Ambassador for digital industries.  Shields has over twenty five years of experience building global technology businesses, including holding senior executive roles at Facebook, AOL and Google. She has led a number of high growth businesses in the technology sector to successful exits including Bebo and Veon.  In 2013, she created the UK government backed ‘Future Fifty’ acceleration programme to nurture and support high growth businesses in the UK. Joanna serves as a Non-Executive Director of TalkTalk Telecom Group Plc and as a member of Mayor Boris Johnson’s London Smart Board.

Seasoned Technology Executive and Former Sensata CEO Appointed To GTAT Board 

GT Advanced Technologies, the provider of crystal growth equipment and solutions for the global solar, LED and electronics industries, named Thomas (Tom) Wroe Jr. to its board of directors. From 2006 to 2012, Wroe served as CEO and chairman for Sensata Technologies Holdings, the former Sensors & Controls business of Texas Instruments. Prior to that, Wroe held a variety of management assignments at Texas Instruments for over three decades in operations, engineering, marketing, and business development across all of the businesses in Materials & Controls. He is currently chairman of the board of Sensata Technologies and Cape Cod Healthcare and a director of Chase Corporation.

Biopharmaceutical Firm Appoints Former IDEXX CFO as Director

Biopharmaceutical firm Aratana Therapeutics appointed Merilee Raines, former EVP and CFO of IDEXX Laboratories, to board. Raines served as CFO of IDEXX Laboratories, a publicly-traded company providing diagnostic and IT products and services primarily to the companion animal health market, where she was part of the leadership team that grew IDEXX revenues to $1.3 billion. Raines also served as IDEXX's EVP, and as Corporate VP, Finance.

Dora Vell

Dora Vell is the Managing Partner of Vell Executive Search, a boutique executive search firm in Boston focused on recruiting technology executives and board members. Vell has successfully completed numerous board member and C-level executive searches, including CEOs, COOs, CIOs, and Vice Presidents - at both public and private companies.

Prior to founding the firm in 2005, Vell was a Partner at Heidrick & Struggles' Technology practice for seven years.  Before her career in executive search, she worked at IBM for 11 years, managing software engineering organizations of 100 people and software sales organizations with revenues of $150 million. She has also served as an executive assistant to the CEO of IBM Canada for one year.

Vell holds seven worldwide software patents. She has published several Business of Leadership reports on governance and leadership and has been quoted in numerous articles including The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Business Week, Fortune, Agenda Week, MSNBC, Mass High Tech, the OPUS for the World Economic Forum, Boston Business Journal, The Globe & Mail, CIO Magazine, and IEEE. She also has been a featured speaker on leadership at numerous conferences and at Columbia University's MBA program.

Vell is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), the Boston CEO Roundtable. She has served on the boards of Framingham State, Entrepreneur's Organization, Goodwill, Mary Centre for developmentally handicapped adults,, and RBC Capital Partners.

She has received an MBA from the University of Toronto, a Master in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, and a Bachelor in Computer Science from Carleton. She has also completed the MIT Entrepreneurial Master’s program.
