Apple’s Top VP, Engineering and VP, Product Design Leave

One of Apple’s top VP of Engineering Henri Lamiraux has left the technology giant recently. He had worked at the technology giant for over 20 years. He joined the company in the early days, back in 1990. He worked his way up the corporate ladder and helped build the original operating system for the first iPhone. 

Apple’s VP, Product Design Doug Field is moving to Tesla. Field will be responsible for driving development of new vehicles. Field worked on computers like the MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, and iMac. Before Apple, Field was the CTO at Segway.

Microsoft Promotes Strategy and Research Leaders Along With Skype VP

Eric Rudder will take on a newly created role as EVP, Advanced Strategy, and Harry Shum will take on Rudder’s current responsibilities as EVP, Technology & Research. Rudder has led Advanced Strategy & Research group for the past year.


Harry Shum currently leads Bing engineering and prior, he led MSR China team. He is uniquely positioned to drive exceptional forward-looking research that pushes the frontiers of computer science, while also driving impactful technology transfer through deep connections with our product teams. With Shum moving to this new role, the Bing engineering team will report to EVp, Applications and Services Group, Qi Lu, on an interim basis.

Microsoft has named Gurdeep Singh Pall to replace the departing Mark Gillett as corporate VP for Skype, as well as its Lync communications product. Gillett, who took a job as head of value creation at private equity firm Silver Lake, had been responsible for Skype’s product, engineering and operations worldwide, duties that will now fall to Pall. An experienced engineer, Pall was most recently CVP of Information Platform & Experience in Microsoft’s new Applications and Services division. Before that, he was CVP of the Office Lync & Speech group.

IBM CFO to Retire by Year-End Succeeded by GM of IBM Global Financing

IBM's SVP and CFO, Finance and Enterprise Transformation, Mark Loughridge is retiring at the end of the year after almost a decade on the job. Loughridge, who joined IBM in 1977 as a development engineer, will be succeeded by Martin Schroeter, 49, who is General Manager of IBM Global Financing. In December, Loughridge will turn 60, IBM's traditional retirement age. During Loughridge’s tenure, IBM introduced the first long-term EPS roadmap in 2007.


Schroeter will take on his new role in the beginning of next year. Schroeter also served as IBM Treasurer and previously held a number of business and financial leadership positions including several roles in Asia Pacific.

Oracle Appoints SVP Worldwide Alliances, Channels

Oracle has appointed Rich Geraffo as SVP, worldwide alliances and channels. Geraffo will be responsible for the ongoing development and execution of Oracle Partner Network (OPN) as well as initiatives aimed at generating revenue for partners. Geraffo brings decades of enterprise technology to the position, most recently serving as SVP and managing director of HP's enterprise business in the Americas. Prior to joining HP, Geraffo was VP and general manager of the Americas region for VMware.

Verizon Elects MetricStream CEO to Board

Verizon Communications elected Shellye Archambeau, 49, CEO of enterprise-wide governance, risk, compliance (GRC) solutions company MetricStream, to Board. Archambeau joined MetricStream in 2002. Previously, she was CMO and EVP of sales for Loudcloud, CMO for NorthPoint Communications, president of Blockbuster's e-commerce division, and held domestic and international executive positions in a 15-year career at IBM.

Intel Architecture Group Head Leaves

David Perlmutter, 59, EVP and General Manager of Intel Architecture Group, to leave Intel, in order to pursue other opportunities. Throughout his career at Intel, Perlmutter led many of the product, technology and business transformations at Intel. Earlier, he served as SVP of Intel Mobility Group (formerly known as Mobile Products Group), General Manager and Corporate VP of Mobility Group, VP and General Manager, Mobile Platforms Group and became co-manager with Sean Maloney of Mobility Group. Prior to that, he also served as VP of Microprocessor Group and General Manager of Basic Microprocessor Division and Intel Israel Development Center.

eBay Taps Apple's E-Commerce Leader as Product Chief

eBay has tapped RJ Pittman to become its Chief Product Officer. Pittman joins eBay from Apple, where he was Head of WW E-Commerce Platform. His past roles include: Director, Product Management at Google, Co-founder and CEO at Groxis, and Managing Partner at Venture Factory Partners. Promotes Subsidiary Head as CEO

Online travel company The Priceline Group promoted Darren Huston, 47, to President and CEO. The promotion will split the roles of CEO and Chairman and Jeffery H. Boyd, who has been President and CEO since 2002, will remain as Chairman. Huston will join The Priceline Group's Board of Directors. Huston is CEO of B.V. (Netherlands), a wholly owned subsidiary of The Priceline Group and an online hotel reservation service, a position he will continue to hold. Huston came to the Group from Microsoft, where he served as Corporate VP, Consumer & Online and President & CEO of Microsoft Japan.


HP Appoints Interim Controller and Treasurer

Hewlett-Packard appointed Jeff T. Ricci, 52, as Controller and Principal Accounting Officer of HP. Ricci will hold those positions on an interim basis while a search is conducted for a permanent successor to Marc A. Levine, who previously resigned as HP’s Controller and Principal Accounting Officer. Ricci has served as VP of Finance for HP’s Technology and Operations organization since 2012. Previously, he served as VP of Finance for Global Accounts and HP Financial Services and VP of Finance for HP Software. Prior to joining HP, he served as SVP of Finance for BEA Systems.

Todd R. Morgenfeld, 41, was appointed Treasurer of HP. Morgenfeld also was appointed SVP of Corporate Development and Corporate Analytics. He succeeds James T. Murrin, who was appointed as COO of HP’s Enterprise Group earlier this year. Morgenfeld has served as SVP, HP Mobility. Previously, he served in several roles at Silver Lake, a global technology investment firm, most recently serving as a director. Prior to joining Silver Lake, he worked as an investment banking associate in the Technology, Media and Telecommunications group at Goldman Sachs.

Yahoo! Witnesses Senior Executive Resignations

Erin McPherson, who previously served as the Head of Video at Yahoo, has joined the top multi-channel networks Maker Studios as its Chief Content Officer. At Yahoo, she helped turn Yahoo Screen into an award-winning online video platform serving millions of viewers.

Well-known Israeli entrepreneur Eran Shir, whose Dapper startup was bought by Yahoo in 2010, is leaving the company to join new venture firm Aleph as an entrepreneur in residence. Shir has been a key ad tech exec at Yahoo since the Dapper acquisition, including working on its most recent efforts in transforming its ad tech by focusing on dynamic, personalized and native ad products.

Tim Converse, one of Yahoo’s high-ranking data scientists, who arrived at the company early this year via an acquisition, has been hired away by eBay. He will lead its search-science engineering team. Converse is co-founder of Jybe, a mobile app for recommendation and social discovery that Yahoo bought earlier this year.

Salesforce Hires Comcast Cable CIO as SVP, Global Communications and Media Industry appoints Andrew Baer as SVP, global communications and media industry. In his previous role as CIO for Comcast Cable, Baer transformed the company's IT strategy across all of its corporate systems, including call center, customer self-service, field workforce management, ordering and provisioning, billing, and data centers. He is credited for significant advancements in employee and customer management initiatives at Comcast and implementing cutting-edge solutions to support growth of the Comcast Cable business.

Time Warner Cable Appoints Sales Leader for Business Services

Time Warner Cable hired industry veteran Jeffrey Painting as SVP and Chief Sales Officer, Business Services. He most recently served as President of Business Sales and Care at CenturyLink. Prior to that, Painting held several business sales roles and leadership positions during an 18-year span at BellSouth Corporation. He began his career at AT&T.

Wipro Appoints Leader for Growth in Europe

Wipro appoints Ulrich Meister as SVP and Head of Continental Europe. Ulrich joins Wipro from T-Systems, where he started in 2005, and in his last role was responsible for their global Euro 2 billion system integration business. Ulrich began his career with the financial services industry and spent the first 20 years in leadership positions with Deutsche Bank and Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen. Ulrich was also a Member on the Board of T-systems.

Micron Technology Names Divisional VP

Fortune 500 memory technologies giant Micron Technology named Brian Angell, VP, Advanced Controller Development. He most recently served as VP of Engineering for NVIDIA's mobile BU - one of multiple roles he held at NVIDIA since joining the company in 2002. Angell's professional background includes serving as director of engineering at Vivace Networks, CTO of Raydiant and director of consumer products at 3dfx Interactive.

Motorola Solutions Appoints Long-time Finance Exec and Interim Finance Chief as CFO

Motorola Solutions appointed Gino A. Bonanotte, 48, acting CFO and corporate VP, has been named CFO and EVP. Bonanotte joined Motorola in 1988 and previously served as corporate VP overseeing financial operations for the company's sales and product operations organization. During his 25-year career with the company, he has held a number of key global financial leadership positions, including corporate financial planning, supply chain, strategy and market business development, mergers and acquisitions, and joint ventures. In addition, he has served on the board of Vertex and other joint ventures in Latin America.

Symantec Products and Services President Leaves

Francis A. deSouza, President, Products and Services of Symantec, is leaving the Company to become President of Illumina. He previously served as group president of Symantec’s Enterprise Products and Services, and SVP of Symantec’s Enterprise Security Group. deSouza joined Symantec in 2006 when the company acquired IMlogic, the instant messaging security provider he founded and led. His earlier roles include product unit manager at Microsoft, founder and CEO of Flash Communications, and computer science researcher at IBM’s TJ Watson Research Labs.

CA Appoints Company Vet to NA Partner Sales Role 

CA appoints Adam Famularo as SVP, Partner Sales, North America. Famularo has more than 15 years of channel experience covering many facets of the CA business. Since joining the company in 1998, he has held numerous roles, most recently serving as SVP of the AppLogic customer solutions unit. Earlier, as SVP and GM of Cloud Computing, Famularo helped set the company's overall cloud strategy. Earlier, he was SVP and GM of the Recovery Management and Data Modeling BU.


Fiserv Names Former D&B and Merrill Lynch Exec as Group President

Fiserv names Byron C. Vielehr as Group President of its Depository Institution Services Group. He most recently served as President of International and Global Operations for Dun & Bradstreet. Prior to joining D&B, Vielehr was President and COO of Northstar Systems, CTO and Global Head of eBusiness for Merrill Lynch Asset Management and Merrill Lynch Global Private Client.

Juniper Networks Taps Barclays Veteran as New CEO

Juniper Networks said today that it has named Shaygan Kheradpir, currently chief operations and technology officer at Barclays, as its new CEO. Kheradpir will replace outgoing CEO Kevin Johnson on Jan. 1, 2014. Johnson, who had joined Juniper from Microsoft in 2008, will remain on Juniper’s board.

Equinix Hires Sales Chief from Frontier Communications

One of the largest IBX data-center and colocation provider Equinix has appointed Pete Hayes as Chief Sales Officer. Hayes was previously EVP, Commercial Sales and Support and SVP, Sales, Marketing and Business Development at Frontier Communications. Prior to that, he spent nearly 15 years with Microsoft, most recently being VP, EMEA. He also developed Microsoft's worldwide strategy for enterprise customers and created Microsoft's U.S. Public Sector business. Prior to Microsoft, he worked at IBM in various sales, technical and management roles.

Akamai Elects Former Alcatel-Lucent CEO as Director

Akamai elected Bernardus (Ben) Verwaayen, to its Board of Directors. Verwaayen was CEO of Alcatel-Lucent from 2008 to 2013. Verwaayen has held numerous executive positions at leading telecommunications and technology providers including having served as CEO of BT; international VP, EVP and COO of Lucent Technologies; and as president and general manager of PTT Telecom, a KPN subsidiary in the Netherlands.

Dell’s Chief Commercial Officer Leaves; Company Appoints Head of Infrastructure and Cloud Computing Biz

Steve Felice, one of Dell’s president and its Chief Commercial Officer, will be leaving the company. Felice has taken a job as Chairman and CEO of Filtration Group; a Chicago-based privately held company that makes industrial air and water filtration equipment. Prior to his current role, Steve was SVP and president of the Consumer, Small and Medium Business group, and also led operations for Dell in the Asia-Pacific and Japan region.

Anand Sankaran, a 25-year industry leader, will join the company as president and global head of Dell Services' Infrastructure and Cloud Computing line of business. He was formerly SVP of Wipro's Global Infrastructure Services business as well as head of Wipro Infotech, its India and Middle East business. Sankaran previously held a variety of Wipro management positions after joining the company in 1989. Sankaran, who will be based in India, succeeds Kevin Jones, who moved into the recently created Chief Customer and Sales Officer role within Dell Services.
