Coca-Cola Appoints Board Member with Banking and Internet Technology Experience

The Coca-Cola Company elected Ana Botin, 52, as a Director of the Company. Botin is CEO of Santander UK, one of Britain's leading personal financial services companies and a subsidiary of the Santander Group, the largest bank in the Eurozone. Botin has led corporate and investment strategies at JP Morgan in New York, established and headed Santander's International Corporate Banking business in Latin America, and served as the Executive Chairman of Spain's Banco Espanol de Credito. She also brings internet technology experience, having partnered with internet entrepreneurs in an IT consultancy firm which she grew and sold to Indra, the leading global technology company in Spain.

Botin is the Founder and Vice Chairman of Empresa y Crecimiento Foundation, which finances small- and medium-sized companies in Latin America; Founder and Chairman of the Conocimiento y Desarrollo Foundation, a not-for-profit organization that promotes the contribution of universities to economic and social development; and Founder and Chairman of EmpiezaPorEducar Foundation, the Spanish member of the global "Teach For America" network.

Morgan Stanley Appoints Retired AT&T Exec to Board

Morgan Stanley elected Rayford Wilkins, Jr., 61, as new board member. Wilkins most recently served as CEO of Diversified Businesses at AT&T, a position from which he retired in 2012. Previously in his career, he held several leadership roles at AT&T and its predecessor companies, including Group President of Marketing and Sales at SBC Communications, President and CEO of SBC Pacific Bell, and President and CEO of Southwestern Bell Telephone, among others. Wilkins currently serves on the boards of Valero Energy, América Móvil and YP Holdings.

OGE Energy Appoints Recognized Tech Exec as Director

Electric utility company OGE Energy appointed Sheila G. Talton, 60, as its new board member. Talton currently serves as president and CEO of Gray Matter Analytics, a consultancy offering data analytics and predictive modelling services and solutions to organizations in the financial services and health care industries. Prior to founding Gray Matter, she served in a variety of leadership positions with global technology leaders Cisco and Electronic Data Systems as well as other leading technology firms. She is a Congressional appointee on the U.S. White House Women's Business Council. She also has been recognized as one of the 'Top 10 Women in Technology' by Enterprising Women and as 'Entrepreneur of the Year' by the National Federation of Black Women Business Owners.

Xerox’s Senior Exec Joins as New Director of IDEXX

IDEXX Laboratories, the global market leader in diagnostics and IT solutions for animal health, elected Sophie V. Vandebroek, PhD., 51, as a member of the Company's Board of Directors. Vandebroek has been an executive with Xerox since 2002. Most recently, she has been serving as Xerox's CTO and Corporate Vice President, as well as President of the Xerox Innovation Group since 2006. She is responsible for overseeing Xerox's research centers in Europe, Asia, Canada and the US as well as the Palo Alto Research Center. Prior to her current positions, from 2002 to 2005, he was Chief Engineer of Xerox and Vice President of the Xerox Engineering Center.

Former Qualcomm Exec Joins D&B Board

Dun & Bradstreet appointed Dr. Anastassia Lauterbach to its Board of Directors. Dr. Lauterbach was, until recently, Senior Vice President of Global Business Operations Europe at Qualcomm, overseeing business interests across Europe, as well as leading expansion in Eastern European markets and Turkey. Before joining Qualcomm, Dr. Lauterbach spent over 14 years in various operational and strategic roles at Deutsche Telekom, Daimler Chrysler Financial Services, McKinsey and Munich Reinsurance Company.

Leading Internet Radio Service Company Elects Former Macromedia and HP Exec as Board Member

Pandora elected Elizabeth A. "Betsey" Nelson to the board of directors. Nelson has served on multiple boards of technology companies. She currently serves on the boards of Nokia and Brightcove. Other public company board experience includes serving as a director of, SuccessFactors, Autodesk, and CNET Networks. Nelson served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Macromedia, where she also served as a director. Prior to joining Macromedia, Nelson held various roles in finance and corporate development at Hewlett-Packard.

Specialty Materials Company Appoints Microchip Technology’s COO to Board

Rogers Corp. appointed Ganesh Moorthy, 53, COO of specialized semiconductor products firm Microchip Technology, to the board of directors. Moorthy has also held the company’s executive vice president positions and vice president position in several Microchip divisions. Since 2010, he has served as a member of the Board of Directors of Hua-Hong Grace Semiconductor in Shanghai, China. He is also a member of the University of Washington’s Electrical Engineering Board of Advisors.

Dora Vell

Dora Vell is the Managing Partner of Vell Executive Search, a boutique executive search firm in Boston focused on recruiting technology executives and board members. Vell has successfully completed numerous board member and C-level executive searches, including CEOs, COOs, CIOs, and Vice Presidents - at both public and private companies.

Prior to founding the firm in 2005, Vell was a Partner at Heidrick & Struggles' Technology practice for seven years.  Before her career in executive search, she worked at IBM for 11 years, managing software engineering organizations of 100 people and software sales organizations with revenues of $150 million. She has also served as an executive assistant to the CEO of IBM Canada for one year.

Vell holds seven worldwide software patents. She has received an MBA from the University of Toronto, a Master in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, and a Bachelor in Computer Science from Carleton. She has also completed the MIT Entrepreneurial Master’s program.
