CACI Hires Unisys Exec as New SVP for Health Care Group

Simulation technology company CACI International has named Dr. Anthony Hess as senior vice president to lead the company’s Healthcare Solutions Group within its federal civilian organization. Hess comes to CACI from Unisys, where he managed services and technology sales to federal civilian and defense health agencies. He has also served as senior vice president and worldwide GM of the health solutions BU for Science Applications International Corp.

CompuGroup Medical USA Appoints CEO and COO

e-health solutions company CompuGroup Medical USA named Norbert Fischl as Chief Executive Officer and Kent Broström as Chief Operating Officer. Prior to their appointments, both Fischl and Broström worked for CGM in Northern Europe. Fischl has spent the last two years working as Senior Vice President for Northern Europe. In addition, his extensive background working with premiere software and other high-tech companies has equipped him with the knowledge and experience CGM USA needs to increase their presence in the market.

Broström has had extensive experience in his role as CGM Country Manager for Sweden, improving competitiveness on multiple strategic and operational fronts for CGM since 2011.

Deloitte Appoints Former Oracle and IBM Exec as Head of Newly Launched Health Informatics Biz

Deloitte has named Brett J. Davis general manager of Deloitte Health Informatics (DHI), a newly launched business providing advanced analytics services and products to health care providers, researchers and medical manufacturers. Davis is former senior director of business development for the health sciences global business unit at Oracle. He has also held leadership roles with IBM’s health care and life sciences business, most recently as a business unit executive for the public and health care sectors.

McKesson Specialty Health Exec Joins Anthelio as CEO

IT services provider to hospitals and physician practice groups Anthelio Healthcare Solutions appointed Asif Ahmad as CEO. He has been Senior Vice President of IT Services for McKesson Specialty Health since 2010. Prior to that, he was VP, Diagnostic Services/CIO and Associate Dean at Duke University Health System and Medical Center; and he was also CIO/CTO and Chair of Clinical Technology Council of The Ohio State University Health System and Medical Center.

Former Oracle and Phase Forward Exec Joins eData systems Company as COO

Former Oracle VP, Steve Rosenberg was recently named COO at patient-driven eData systems innovator PHT Corporation. Prior to Oracle, Rosenberg served as senior vice president of software and services for Phase Forward and was instrumental in the company’s 2010 sale to Oracle. He also held executive positions at APTSoft, W3Health, McKessonHBOC and HPR.

DRT Strategies Names Leader for Health IT Account Portfolio

Matthew Seguin has been named vice president of health IT at DRT Strategies, a management and technology consulting firm. He is former director of operations at IDL Solutions/CACI International. Sequin brings more than 30 years of experience providing healthcare, medical, and public health IT solutions to the federal government and has held key health IT-focused positions at MITRE and Booz Allen Hamilton.

GetWellNetwork Appoints COO

David Bennett has been named executive vice president and COO of GetWellNetwork, a provider of interactive patient monitoring systems. He is former executive vice president at Krames StayWell, a provider of interactive patient and consumer engagement products, as well as consumer health information and population health management systems.

MVP Health Care Names iCIO as CIO

James Poole, interim CIO at insurer MVP Health Care, has been named vice president and CIO of the company. Prior to joining MVP, Poole was most recently Vice President of Operations for Connecticut-based IT company The Cimino Group, and has served as Vice President of the Enterprise Command Center for Cigna. He has a strong background in health care and insurance IT, having also worked for Howard Systems International, Private HealthCare Systems and Aetna Life & Casualty over the course of his career.

COO Named at KRM Associates

KRM Associates, a small woman-owned health IT development company, named Jack L. Shaffer, Jr. as Chief Operations Officer. Shaffer is former CIO of Community Health Network of West Virginia. He also performed the role of IT project manager for two sections of West Virginia’s Medicaid Transformation Grants administered by The West Virginia Bureau of Medicaid Services (WVBMS).

PatientPoint Expands with Key Leadership Appointments

PatientPoint, the leader and innovator in mobile-enabled care coordination and patient engagement solutions, expanded its executive leadership team with two important hires to support business operations and performance. John McAuley has been named chief operating officer, and Eldon Richards will serve as vice president of engineering & technology services.

Most recently, McAuley was senior vice president of IT managed services for AllScripts, where he played a pivotal role in tripling the company's outsourcing business revenue. Previously, he served as Eclipsys's senior vice president for outsourcing, hosting and support, where he also was responsible for the launch of off-shore organizations that support these businesses in India.

Richards has a strong track record of managing software engineering organizations in rapid growth businesses. He spent 18 years with UnitedHealth Group in a variety of roles, most recently as vice president, software engineering at OptumInsight, where he was responsible for managing and maturing a large, geographically dispersed software engineering team with more than 600 product releases per year.

Dora Vell

Dora Vell is the Managing Partner of Vell Executive Search, a boutique executive search firm in Boston focused on recruiting technology executives and board members. Vell has successfully completed numerous board member and C-level executive searches, including CEOs, COOs, CIOs, and Vice Presidents - at both public and private companies.

Prior to founding the firm in 2005, Vell was a Partner at Heidrick & Struggles' Technology practice for seven years.  Before her career in executive search, she worked at IBM for 11 years, managing software engineering organizations of 100 people and software sales organizations with revenues of $150 million. She has also served as an executive assistant to the CEO of IBM Canada for one year.

Vell holds seven worldwide software patents. She has published several Business of Leadership reports on governance and leadership and has been quoted in numerous articles including The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Business Week, Fortune, Agenda Week, MSNBC, Mass High Tech, the OPUS for the World Economic Forum, Boston Business Journal, The Globe & Mail, CIO Magazine, and IEEE. She also has been a featured speaker on leadership at numerous conferences and at Columbia University's MBA program.

Vell is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), the Boston CEO Roundtable. She has served on the boards of Framingham State, Entrepreneur's Organization, Goodwill, Mary Centre for developmentally handicapped adults,, and RBC Capital Partners.

She has received an MBA from the University of Toronto, a Master in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, and a Bachelor in Computer Science from Carleton. She has also completed the MIT Entrepreneurial Master’s program.
