Electronic Arts Appoints New York Times Digital Exec to Board

Electronic Arts appointed Denise F. Warren, 48, EVP of the Digital Products and Services Group at The New York Times, to its board of directors. Warren previously served as general manager and chief advertising officer of the New York Times Media Group, where she managed operations for NYTimes.com and related digital and mobile products.

Shutterfly Appoints Finance Expert to Board

Internet-based social expression and personal publishing service firm Shutterfly appointed Ann Mather, 52, to its board of directors. She is a corporate finance executive who has driven global accounting and strategic business initiatives for some of the world's most recognized brand names including Pixar and Disney. In her time at Pixar, she was EVP and CFO, and was Pixar's prime contact with Disney on distribution issues as part of the Disney/Pixar co-production agreement, and served as the Company Secretary. Prior to joining Pixar, she was EVP and CFO at Village Roadshow Pictures, as well as SVP at the Walt Disney Company, in the Buena Vista International Theatrical Division.

Pacific Software Appoints Board Member

Carrie J. Weiler, 53, was appointed as a member of the board and corporate secretary of Pacific Software, the company engaged in software development for both PC and mobile platform. Carrie Weiler has over 25 years of experience in public company management. She provides corporate secretarial services and administration to several public companies listed in the United States and Canada.

Jawbone Appoints Yahoo! CEO to Board

Bluetooth mobile phone headsets company Jawbone appointed Yahoo! CEO Marissa Mayer as a Board Member. Marissa joined Yahoo! as CEO, President and Director in 2012. Prior to Yahoo!, she spent 13 years at Google, where she held numerous positions, including engineer, designer, product manager, and executive. As VP of Search Products and User Experience, she played an instrumental role in Google search and led the development of some of Google's most successful services including image, book and product search, toolbar, and iGoogle. She also defined such pivotal products as Google News and Gmail. She is listed as an inventor on several patents in artificial intelligence and interface design. She most recently was VP of Maps, Local, and Location Services overseeing all products with geographic components including Google Maps, Google+ Local, Google Earth, Streetview, and more.

Blue Nile Appoints Retail Industry Specialist as Director

Blue Nile, online retailer of diamonds and fine jewelry, added Mindy Meads, 61, to its Board of Directors. Previously, Meads was Co-CEO of Aeropostale, where she successfully reinvigorated the merchandise assortment and launched "P.S.", Aeropostale's Kid's Division. Prior to Aeropostale, she served as CEO and President of Victoria's Secret Direct. Before that, she held executive merchandising positions at Lands' End for 14 years, including CEO and President during her last two years. Earlier in her career, she held a wide range of executive and operating roles at Sears, Gymboree, The Limited and Macy's. She currently serves on two public boards, Wet Seal and Mela Sciences. In addition to her corporate work, she sits on the Board of Governors of HOBY (Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership) and the Board of Trustees of the Masters School.

TriZetto Appoints Former BlueCross BlueShield Leader as Chair

Health-insurance software company Trizetto’s board member Vicky Gregg, 57, previously CEO of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee, will become non-executive chair. She replaces Trace Devanny, chairman and CEO of TriZetto, who is leaving. Gregg retired from her position as CEO in December 2012. Gregg offers strong credentials within the healthcare community, bringing 37 years of clinical, marketing, business development and executive leadership experience to the board. For nearly three decades, Gregg has served in general management positions with BlueCross BlueShield, Humana and various hospitals. Gregg currently serves on the corporate boards for First Horizon National Corporation and Team Health Holdings. Additionally, Gregg serves on several non-profit boards, including, the America's Health Insurance Plans Foundation, the University of Tennessee Board of Trustees, and the Electric Power Board in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Dora Vell

Dora Vell is the Managing Partner of Vell Executive Search, a boutique executive search firm in Boston focused on recruiting technology executives and board members. Vell has successfully completed numerous board member and C-level executive searches, including CEOs, COOs, CIOs, and Vice Presidents - at both public and private companies.

Prior to founding the firm in 2005, Vell was a Partner at Heidrick & Struggles' Technology practice for seven years.  Before her career in executive search, she worked at IBM for 11 years, managing software engineering organizations of 100 people and software sales organizations with revenues of $150 million. She has also served as an executive assistant to the CEO of IBM Canada for one year.

Vell holds seven worldwide software patents. Vell is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), the Boston CEO Roundtable. She has served on the boards of Framingham State, Entrepreneur's Organization, Goodwill, Mary Centre for developmentally handicapped adults, garage.ca, and RBC Capital Partners.

She has received an MBA from the University of Toronto, a Master in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, and a Bachelor in Computer Science from Carleton. She has also completed the MIT Entrepreneurial Master’s program.
