Former Google and eBay Exec Appointed to Coach’s Board

The fine accessories retailer appointed Stephanie Tilenius, 43, of venture capital firm, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers to its Board of Directors. Ms. Tilenius recently joined Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers as Executive-in-Residence, primarily focusing on companies within its Digital Growth Fund. Previously, she was an executive at Google, where she was VP of global commerce and payments overseeing digital commerce, product search and payments. Prior to joining Google, she was at eBay for nine years, ultimately as SVP of eBay.com and global product. She was also a co-founder of PlanetRx.com and has worked at other technology and business enterprises. She is on the Board of IronPlanet and Chair of the Advisory Board of the Harvard Business School California Research Center.

Steel Dynamics Names Tech Industry Financial Expert to Board

The American steel producer and metals recycler appointed Traci Dolan, 54, to its Board of Directors. Traci is currently the Chief Administrative Officer of ExactTarget. She served as the Company's CFO, VP of Finance and Administration, and EVP of Finance and Administration. Before that she served as CFO, VP of Finance and Administration, Secretary and Treasurer of software company Made2Manage Systems. She previously held financial management and operational positions with Macmillan Publishing, where she was VP of Finance and Operations, and with Coopers & Lybrand, where she was an audit manager.

LA Technology Investor Appointed to Kennedy Center Board

David Bohnett, the founder of Geocities.com, and currently head of Los Angeles venture capital firm Baroda Ventures, has been appointed as a Trustee to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. The appointment was announced by the White House and the Obama administration. Bohnett, who spends a significant amount of time nowadays focused on philanthropic efforts, is currently Chairman of the Board of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association, and is a trustee at Los Angeles County Museum of Art, in addition to other efforts. Baroda Ventures has invested in such companies as DogVacay, GradientX, GraphEffect, LifeCrowd, OVGuide, SurfAir, and Retention Science, among others. Bohnett is one of the early pioneers of Southern California's technology industry, having founded GeoCities.com in 1994 and selling it to Yahoo in 1999.

UK Public Body Appoints Tech Specialists to Board

Technology Strategy Board, the UK public advisory body that drives innovation for the Government reporting to the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, appointed two new Members - Doug Richard and Hazel Moore, to its Board.

Doug Richard, 52, is a successful entrepreneur with over 20 years' experience in the development and leadership of technology and software ventures. He is an active angel investor, the Founder of 'School for Startups'. Between 1996 and 2000 Doug was President and CEO of Micrografx, a US-based software company. Prior to that he also founded and subsequently sold two other companies: Visual Software and ITAL Computers.

Hazel Moore is the chairman of FirstCapital, a technology-specialist investment bank which she co-founded in 1999. Her experience spans advising technology companies on venture capital and private equity, mergers and acquisitions, as well as advising family offices, institutional and strategic investors on investments and portfolio strategies. Hazel is on the Investment Advisory Panel for the North West Fund, a £170m evergreen investment fund focused on small and medium sized enterprises in the North West of England. Previously Hazel was based in Hong Kong and London for W.I. Carr, a leading Asian institutional stockbroker.

Dora Vell

Dora Vell is the Managing Partner of Vell Executive Search, a boutique executive search firm in Boston focused on recruiting technology executives and board members. Vell has successfully completed numerous board member and C-level executive searches, including CEOs, COOs, CIOs, and Vice Presidents - at both public and private companies.

Prior to founding the firm in 2005, Vell was a Partner at Heidrick & Struggles' Technology practice for seven years.  Before her career in executive search, she worked at IBM for 11 years, managing software engineering organizations of 100 people and software sales organizations with revenues of $150 million. She has also served as an executive assistant to the CEO of IBM Canada for one year.

Vell holds seven worldwide software patents. Vell is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), the Boston CEO Roundtable. She has served on the boards of Framingham State, Entrepreneur's Organization, Goodwill, Mary Centre for developmentally handicapped adults, garage.ca, and RBC Capital Partners.

She has received an MBA from the University of Toronto, a Master in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, and a Bachelor in Computer Science from Carleton. She has also completed the MIT Entrepreneurial Master’s program.
