HP Names COO; Brings in New Software Head as Autonomy CEO leaves
HP has named Bill Veghte, 54, Chief Strategy Officer and EVP of Software Business, to serve in the newly created position of COO. He will be overseeing the company’s future strategy by working across HP to drive innovation and customer satisfaction. Prior to joining HP in 2010, he spent two decades at Microsoft in a variety of senior leadership positions from engineering to sales, most recent as the SVP of Online Services & Windows Business Group. In this position, he was instrumental in the delivery and launch of Windows 7.
George Kadifa, 51, recently an operating partner for the Value Creation Team at technology investment firm Silver Lake, will take over Veghte's role as EVP, Software as the company looks to rework its software offerings. Prior to Silver Lake, he was VP of Global Delivery at IBM Global Technology Services. He joined IBM as a part of its 2005 acquisition of Corio, where he served as the CEO and President.
Current CEO of HP-acquired firm Autonomy, Mike Lynch, 47, leaves. He founded Autonomy back in 1996 in Cambridge.
Former HP CEO Apotheker Appointed as Supervisory Board Member at French IT firm
Former CEO of HP Leo Apotheker, 58, has been appointed as member of supervisory board at France based IT enabled business services firm, Steria. Apotheker has headed HP and SAP, where he worked for 20 years. He was the founding President and COO of ECsoft, one of the largest European venture capital start-ups in the 90s. He currently serves on boards for Schneider Electric and NGO Planet Finance
Steria has also elected Laetitia Puyfaucher, 38, as member of the supervisory board. She is the Chairman and Co-founder of WordAppeal, providing clients with strategic guidance and developing new services. She is a shareholder in Pelham Media, WordAppeal’s parent company.
McGraw-Hill taps IBM Exec to Lead Education Unit
McGraw-Hill appointed Lloyd G. "Buzz" Waterhouse, 60, as President and CEO of McGraw-Hill Education, as the company establishes the Education unit as an independent, digital learning and education services company later this year. He is the former CEO of Harcourt Education, and has served as President and COO, and later CEO, of Reynolds & Reynolds, a company primarily focused on software for the automotive industry. Prior to that he had a distinguished 26 year career at IBM where he was GM of E-Business Services and President, Asia Pacific Services, GM Marketing and BD, IBM Global Services and Director of Global Strategy.
Former IBM and HP Exec appointed EVP-Global Sales & Services at Red Hat
Red Hat appointed enterprise software industry veteran ArunOberoi, 56, as EVP of Global Sales and Services. Oberoi comes to Red Hat from Viridity Software, a data center infrastructure management start-up, where he served as President and CEO. Previously he was CEO of Aveksa, EVP of worldwide sales and services at Micromuse, a market-leading provider of network and service management solutions. Micromuse was acquired by IBM, where Oberoi led the integration and its continued fast growth and field expansion as VP within IBM Tivoli. He also held a variety of other roles, including VP and GM of worldwide top 100 Accounts and VP & GM of Worldwide Sales and Marketing for Software Business at HP.
SunGard’s new CFO is former IBM exec
Charles J. Neral, 53, has been named CFO at SunGard Data Systems, succeeding Robert F. Woods, who is resigning. Most recently, Mr. Neral, was CFO at SafeNet, a cyber-security company. Previously, he served as VP of finance for IBM's worldwide software business, and in a variety of financial roles across IBM's Sales, Server and Global Services organizations, including executive roles in Asia Pacific and at IBM corporate headquarters.
RIM’s Chief Legal Officer Retires
The BlackBerry maker’s Chief Legal Officer Karima Bawa is retiring and will leave the company after 12 years. Prior to this she served as a VP of Legal at the company.
CSC Appoints New Members to Senior Management Team
CSC appointed Gary Budzinski, 56, as President, Global Infrastructure Services. Most recently Budzinski has been the CEO and Founder of Integrity Innovation International, an IT consulting services firm. Prior to that he was SVP and GM for Technology Services Business Unit at HP and has held leadership positions like President, Aon HR outsourcing and Geographic BU COO & Enterprise Client Executive at EDS.
The company also appointed Sunita Holzer, 51, as Chief Human Resources Officer. Holzer comes to CSC from the Chubb Group for Insurance Companies where she was Chief Human Resources Officer. She has held executive HR positions at GE Capital Corporate, American Express and AIG.
David Zolet, 51, was appointed as President North America Public Sector (NPS), succeeding James Sheaffer who will be retiring. Zolet has served as President of CSC Business Development for NPS and has held leadership positions at IBM and Northrop Grumman. He will be responsible for overseeing NPS operations focused on strengthening cost and profit management disciplines.
OpenText Strengthens Executive Leadership Team
Eugene Roman resigned as CTO of OpenText, the enterprise content management applications company. He held the position of CIO before becoming the CTO. Prior to joining OpenText Eugene was Group President and Chief Information and Technology Officer at Bell Systems & Technology.
Muhi S. Majzoub replaces outgoing Chief Technology Officer, Eugene Roman. Mr. Majzoub joins OpenText as SVP, Engineering. He is a seasoned enterprise software technology executive having recently served as Head of Products for NorthgateArinso. Prior to that, he was SVP of Product Development for CA Technologies. He also worked for several years as VP for Product Development at Oracle.
Manuel Sousa joined as SVP, HR. He was recently Head of HR for International Banking and Global Insurance for RBC Royal Bank. Prior to that, he served as EVP, HR for Take-Two Interactive, Chief People Officer and SVP at T-Mobile USA, and Chief HR Officer and EVP at Saks Fifth Avenue.
The company also named Greg Corgan as EVP, Worldwide Field Operations. Mr. Corgan was most recently Corporate SVP and President, Global Field Operations for Infor. Prior to Infor, he was SVP, Worldwide Sales for Fair Isaac (FICO). He spent three years at CA Technologies at positions including EVP, Worldwide Sales.

AllScripts nominates Randy Thurman, 61, David D. Stevens, 57, Stuart L. Bascomb, 70, Paul M. Black, 54, and Robert J. Cindrich, 68, as new directors.
Randy Thurman currently serves as the Senior Advisor and Operating Partner at New Mountain Capital, a leading private and public equity firm. He has been Founder, Chairman and CEO of Viasys Healthcare, now acquired by Cardinal Health. Prior to that, he served as Chairman and CEO of Strategic Reserves International, Chairman and CEO of Coming Life Sciences, President and CEO of Rhone-Poulenc Rorer Pharmaceuticals and many other companies. He also served as a fighter pilot for the United States Air Force.
David Stevens is actively involved as an investor/advisor in PE, focusing on providing capital to lower-middle market growth companies in the healthcare services industry. Previously, he served as CEO – AHG Division of Medco Health Solutions. He joined Medco through the Accredo acquisition where he was Chairman and CEO. Prior to working at Accredo, he served as COO at Southern Health Systems, and VP and COO at Le Bonheur Children's Medical Center.
Stuart Bascomb currently serves as the Chairman and CEO of QualSight, a start-up company in Chicago to create a nationwide network of ophthalmologists to market a managed care refractive surgery program to plan sponsors. Mr. Bascomb has a broad range of experience in the healthcare industry. He was a founder of Express Scripts in 1986 and helped lead its IPO as the company's CFO. In addition, he served as EVP and Treasurer at Medicare-Glaser and Group Controller at Pet Incorporated.
Paul M. Black currently serves as Operating Executive of Genstar Capital, a PE firm, and as Senior Advisor at New Mountain Finance Corporation, an investment management company. Prior to joining Genstar, Mr. Black spent over 13 years with Cerner Corporation and retired as its COO in 2007. Prior to Cerner, he was with IBM from 1982 to 1994 in a number of senior sales and professional services leadership positions.
Robert J. Cindrich is the former SVP and Chief Legal Officer for UPMC, and currently serves as Senior Advisor to the Office of the President of UPMC. Prior to UPMC, he served as a judge of the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania for 10 years.
SYNNEX CFO Retires
Thomas Alsborg, 49, CFO of SYNNEX, IT design-to-distribution business process services company, will be retiring soon. He joined the company as CFO in 2007. Previously he served as VP and CFO of Solectron Global Services. The Company is actively recruiting for Mr. Alsborg's replacement.
ManTech Names SVP of SIGINT Solutions & Cyber Operations BU
ManTech, the IT solutions provider to US National Security programs, has named H. Christopher Goodrich SVP of its SIGINT Solutions & Cyber Operations Business Unit. Allscripts Area Leader Appointed to SciQuest Customer Operations Team
SciQuest appointed Teresa B. Jamison as VP, Customer Operations. Jamison will lead SciQuest's customer-facing operations, including client delivery and partnerships, supplier network services and impeccable customer support programs. Prior to joining the SciQuest team, Jamison was the Area VP of Services for Allscripts, responsible for the Southeast region for Allscripts products implemented in the ambulatory, enterprise and community space. She also served as regional director of client experiences for Misys Healthcare Systems where she assisted the Atlantic and Southeast regional sales teams in proposals, prospect presentations and implementation escalations.
Checkpoint Systems Announces Business Segment Leadership Changes
Checkpoint Systems, the global manufacturer and provider of technology-driven loss prevention, merchandising and labelling solutions to the retail and apparel industry, appointed Per Levin as President and Chief Sales Officer, Shrink Management Solutions (SMS) and Merchandise Visibility Solutions. He will be responsible for driving SMS sales, field service, customer service and front-end marketing worldwide. In addition, he will have full responsibility for the worldwide Merchandise Visibility business. Previously he was President Merchandise Visibility and Apparel Labeling Solutions.
Farrokh Abadi has been appointed President and COO, Shrink Management Solutions. He will be responsible for driving SMS research and development, operations, supply chain, product marketing and product management worldwide. Previously he was President Shrink Management Solutions.
James Wrigley has been named President Apparel Labeling Solutions (ALS). He will have full responsibility for ALS, driving sales and operations worldwide. Previously he was Group President, Global Customer Management.
FalconStor Software Appoints New CFO
Louis Petrucelly, 37, was appointed Acting CFO, VP of Finance, and Treasurer of FalconStor, provider of data protection and storage virtualization solutions, as Bryan Urquhart resigned. He has served as the Company's Director of Finance and was the Company's Director of Financial Reporting. Prior to joining the Company, he was Corporate Controller for Granite Broadcasting. He was previously employed by PASSUR Aerospace as CFO and Ernst & Young as Senior Auditor.
CEO and Operations Head Departs from ModusLink
William R. McLennan, 53, departs as President-Global Operations from ModusLink, the supply chain and e-business solutions company. He was initially employed as President, Asia-Pacific Operations, of the company. He joined ModusLink from Onyx Capital Ventures, a Chicago-based venture capital firm, where he was a partner. Prior to that, he was President of RR Donnelley Logistics and Packtion, an Internet-based technology startup. He also worked at Silgan Containers as CFO and at FMC Corporation in finance leadership roles, including an expatriate assignment in Spain.
Joseph C. Lawler, 61, will retire as President and CEO of ModusLink, upon the appointment of a new chief executive officer. Mr. Lawler is stepping down from the Board of Directors. Prior to joining the company in 2004, Joe served as EVP at RR Donnelley. He served as president and CEO of Gander Mountain—the outdoor specialty catalog and retail chain; SVP at Fingerhut Companies—a specialty direct marketer; CEO of Lawler Botsford and Company—an acquisition and management firm; and held various executive positions at CML Group—a specialty consumer marketing company.
Camelot Board and Leadership Changes
Yuhui Wang was appointed Director of Camelot, China's enterprise applications service company. Mr. Wang, an IT services industry veteran with more than 20 years' experience in the banking sector, has served as CEO of Camelot Financial IT Services.
Ching-Hua (Brett) Ho will retire from the Board and from his position as COO. Mr. Ho has accepted a new position to serve as a management development consultant to the Company, focusing on training and advising the managerial career development of new talent.

BluePhoenix Appoints New CEO
BluePhoenix, the Israel based provider of tools and services for modernizing legacy systems and applications, restructured its management team. Matt Bell, who joined the company as President two months back, will now be President and CEO. Prior to BluePhoenix, Matt was the COO of PitchBook Data. Electronic design automation software firm announces Co-CEOs
Synopsys’ Chairman and CEO Aart de Geus and President and COO Chi-Foon Chan are now co-CEOs. Dr. Chan joined Synopsys in 1990 as VP of Applications and Services from NEC Corporation USA, where he was GM of the microprocessor group. Over the years, he pioneered many aspects of the company including the initiation of Synopsys' IP business. He was appointed President and COO in 1998, when he also joined the Synopsys Board of Directors.
Adobe Exec Named VP of Global Partner Sales at Lyris
Lyris, the online marketing software company appointed Tod Bayne as VP of Global Partner Sales. Most recently, Tod was Senior Director of Enterprise Partner Sales at Adobe's Omniture Business Unit. Flat Rock Systems Taps Former SAP, Oracle, and PwC Executives to Drive Growth
