Steve P. EarthLink Names Cloud Solutions Industry Expert as EVP IT Services

EarthLink, the Internet Protocol (IP) infrastructure and services company, named Michael Toplisek as EVP of IT Services. Most recently he was the President of Concentric Cloud Solutions, a XO Communications Company. Toplisek previously served as the company's CMO where he developed, implemented and helped execute a growth strategy for the Business Service division. Prior to XO, Toplisek held the positions of SVP, Global Enterprise & Collaboration and Regional VP of Business Services for Global Crossing. He also held sales leadership positions at Frontier Communications and MCI Telecommunications

Cloud Expert to Lead Engineering and Development at Cbeyond

The cloud solutions company named Tim Myers as VP of Cloud Engineering and Development. Myers joins Cbeyond with more than two decades of engineering experience, including web hosting, e-commerce, database, hardware and software, and virtualization. Before joining Cbeyond, he served as SVP, MGR Emerging Technologies, Enterprise Technology Infrastructure at SunTrust Banks in Atlanta. In this role, Myers directed a wide range of support, engineering, architecture and delivery responsibilities across all facets of enterprise infrastructure.

Online Resources hires Fiserv Exec to run ePayment operations

The web and phone-based financial technology services  company named Greg Haney as EVP of Operations for its Electronic Bill Presentment and Payment (EBPP) business. Previously, he served as the COO of TransCard and SVP of Operations of Biller Services for Fiserv, handling electronic payments and interchange management to merchants, payment processors and card-issuing clients. Haney has also held audit positions for Bank One Corporation, Darling International and Sammons Enterprises.

Savvis appoints Managing Director of German Operations

Savvis, the cloud computing subsidiary of CenturyLink appointed Donald Badoux as Managing Director, Savvis Germany. He joins Savvis' senior leadership team from euNetworks, a bandwidth infrastructure provider, where he held positions in sales and general management. At Savvis, his responsibilities include driving growth in the German business and overseeing a team dedicated to servicing local clients.

UniTek Global Director Resigns

Richard Siber, 49, has resigned from the Board of UniTek Global Services, the wireless internet/telecom infrastructure company. Currently, Mr. Siber is the President and CEO of SiberConsulting, which he founded in 2004, to provide strategic, technical and marketing services to members within the wireless ecosystem

Digital Development Group Appoints CTO

Internet TV distribution content company Digital Development Group appointed Richard Verdoni as CTO. Mr. Verdoni brings an extensive background in technology development and innovation. His various accomplishments include new methods for rotoscoping, sprite development and color computation. He went on to consult for DIVATV, an SRI spin-off, which was eventually sold to Comcast and was one of the first adopters of IPTV where Verdoni was instrumental in providing new methods for VOD content delivery. Previously, Richard went on to partner in a number of successful multimedia start-ups, servicing and developing apps and solutions over the past 15 years.

Neustar brings in Certified Information Privacy Professional

J. Beckwith Burr joined the internet clearinghouse and directory services company as Chief Privacy Officer and Deputy General Counsel responsible for Internet governance, ICANN and domain name registry issues. Ms. Burr most recently served as a partner at Wilmer Hale, practicing in the Communications, Privacy and Internet Law Practice Group. She also is a veteran of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the Commerce Department's National Telecommunications and Information Administration.

Dora Vell

Dora Vell is the Managing Partner of Vell Executive Search, a boutique executive search firm in Boston focused on recruiting technology executives and board members. Vell has successfully completed numerous board member and C-level executive searches, including CEOs, COOs, CIOs, and Vice Presidents - at both public and private companies.

Prior to founding the firm in 2005, Vell was a Partner at Heidrick & Struggles' Technology practice for seven years.  Before her career in executive search, she worked at IBM for 11 years, managing software engineering organizations of 100 people and software sales organizations with revenues of $150 million. She has also served as an executive assistant to the CEO of IBM Canada for one year.

Vell holds seven worldwide software patents. She has published several Business of Leadership reports on governance and leadership and has been quoted in numerous articles including The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Business Week, Fortune, Agenda Week, MSNBC, Mass High Tech, the OPUS for the World Economic Forum, Boston Business Journal, The Globe & Mail, CIO Magazine, and IEEE. She also has been a featured speaker on leadership at numerous conferences and at Columbia University's MBA program.

Vell is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), the Boston CEO Roundtable. She has served on the boards of Framingham State, Entrepreneur's Organization, Goodwill, Mary Centre for developmentally handicapped adults,, and RBC Capital Partners.

She has received an MBA from the University of Toronto, a Master in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, and a Bachelor in Computer Science from Carleton. She has also completed the MIT Entrepreneurial Master’s program.
