Microsoft Loses a Pair of Top Advertising Executives

Richard Dunmall, Microsoft Advertising’s VP of Global Agencies and Accounts, is departing. In the meantime, Microsoft veteran Keith Lorizio, the current VP of U.S. Sales and Marketing, will oversee the global agency team. Previously, Dunmall was the VP, Microsoft Advertising for Greater APAC and Americas. Before joining Microsoft, he was the SVP and MD, EMEA at aQuantive, an advertising network which was acquired by Microsoft. Prior to aQuantive, he served as the CEO of MindShare Interaction UK and mOne UK. Earlier in his career, he was a Sales Director for AdLINK Internet Media.

Marc Bresseel, Microsoft Advertising’s VP of Global Marketing, is also leaving the company. Before being named VP of Global Marketing, he was the VP of Global Agencies, GM of Microsoft Advertising EMEA, Director for MSN Belgium, and Corporate Communications Manager for Microsoft Benelux. Before joining Microsoft, he was a PR Manager at IBM.

SAP Appoints Head of North America Business

SAP appointed Geraldine McBride as President of North America region (US & Canada). McBride rejoins SAP from Dell, where she served as VP and Global Head for the Applications and BPO Services business. Prior to Dell, McBride spent 15 years with SAP, most recently as the President and CEO of SAP Asia Pacific Japan. She also served as CEO and MD of SAP Australia and New Zealand as well as SVP and GM in North America.

Adobe Appoints New Board Members

Adobe appointed three new board members Amy Banse, Frank Calderoni and Laura Desmond. Amy Banse, 51, serves as MD and Head of Funds at Comcast Ventures and as SVP at Comcast Corporation. Before being named MD, she was President of Comcast Interactive Media. She joined Comcast in 1991.

Frank Calderoni, 53, serves as EVP and CFO of Cisco. He joined Cisco in 2004 from QLogic, a storage networking company, where he was SVP and CFO. Prior to that, he was SVP, Finance and Administration and CFO for SanDisk, a flash data storage company. Before joining SanDisk, Calderoni spent 21 years at IBM, where he held a variety of executive positions.

Laura Desmond, 47, is the CEO of Starcom MediaVest Group (SMG), a global marketing services company which is part of the Publicis Groupe. Prior to her appointment as global CEO, she was CEO of SMG - Americas, CEO of MediaVest, and CEO of SMG's Latin America group.

LinkedIn CEO Appointed to Intuit Board

Intuit appointed Jeff Weiner, 42, CEO of LinkedIn, to its Board. Weiner joined LinkedIn in 2008 and became CEO in 2009. Previously, he was an executive in residence at Accel Partners and Greylock Partners. He also served as EVP of the Network Division at Yahoo! and as the VP of Online at Warner Bros.

Fidelity National Information Services Names Chief Risk Officer

Fidelity National Information Services (FIS), the banking/payments technology company, named Greg Montana as Chief Risk Officer. Montana joins FIS after serving as SVP and Senior Operational Risk Executive for Bank of America. Previously, he was the Senior Director of Global Risk Operations at PayPal and Director of Operational, Credit and Compliance Risk for Lloyds Banking Group.

TIBCO Software Names Principal Accounting Officer

TIBCO Software has designated Brent P. Hogenson, 50, as Principal Accounting Officer of the company. He joined TIBCO in 2011 as its Interim Corporate Controller and was later appointed its VP and Corporate Controller. Before joining TIBCO, he has the CFO of Americas at Autonomy and VP of Finance & Corporate Controller at Interwoven.

PTC Implements Chairman Succession Plan

PTC, a product lifecycle management software company, announced that Donald K. Grierson, 71, the company’s Lead Independent Director, assumed the role of Chairman following the retirement of Executive Chairman C. Richard Harrison, 55. Grierson has served on PTC's board for 25 years. He is the former President & CEO of ABB Vetco Gray.

Board Changes at AllScripts; Company Appoints iCFO

AllScripts, a provider of electronic health record solutions, elected Dennis Chookaszian, 67, as Chairman after Phil Pead was dismissed from the position. Chookaszian joined the board in 2010. He currently serves as a Director of CME Group, LoopNet, Insweb, and Career Education Corporation. Previously, he served as Chairman and CEO of mPower, Chairman and CEO of CNA Insurance, and as Chairman of the Financial Accounting Standards Advisory Council (FASAC).

The company appointed Paul M. Black, former COO of Cerner Corporation, as a director. Black currently serves as Operating Executive of Genstar Capital, a private equity firm, and as a Senior Advisor at New Mountain Finance Corporation, an investment management company. Prior to joining Genstar, Black spent over 13 years with Cerner Corporation and retired as its COO in 2007. Prior to Cerner, he held a number of senior sales and professional services roles during his 12 year tenure at IBM.

The Honorable Robert J. Cindrich (Ret.), a former U.S. district judge, has also been appointed to AllScript’s Board. Most recently, Cindrich served as the SVP and Chief Legal Officer for the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC). Currently, he serves as Senior Advisor to the Office of the President of UPMC. Prior to UPMC, he served as a judge of the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania for 10 years.

AllScripts CFO Bill Davis has also resigned. SVP of Finance Dave Morgan has become the Interim CFO. Davis previously served as SVP of Finance and CAO of Eclipsys, a healthcare IT company which merged with AllScripts.

Philips Healthcare Sees Divisional CEO Change

Deborah DiSanzo, 52, will succeed Steve Rusckowski as CEO, Philips Healthcare unit. She joined Philips in 2001 when Philips acquired Agilent’s Healthcare Solutions group. During her time at Philips, she served as the CEO of Patient Care and Clinical Informatics, CEO of Healthcare Informatics and Patient Monitoring, and GM of Patient Monitoring.

Stephen Rusckowski, 53, left Philips to become the President and CEO of Quest Diagnostics. He became CEO of Philips Healthcare in 2006. Before joining Philips, Rusckowski held numerous management positions with the healthcare division of Hewlett-Packard/Agilent Technologies. He was the GM of Agilent’s Healthcare Solutions Group when Philips acquired it in 2001.

Seasoned Executives Join Infor

Infor has appointed John Goedert as the new SVP of Speed. Before joining Infor, Goedert served as VP of Operations for Oracle's Global Retail business unit. Before that, he was the COO of Retek.

Mark Thacker has been named as the SVP of Business Cloud. Most recently, Thacker was CEO of GenieDB, a cloud database software provider. Before that, he was EVP of Business Development and Co-Founder at DATAllegro, a data warehouse appliance company that was acquired by Microsoft in 2008.

VirnetX CFO Change

VirnetX Holding, an internet security software company, announced that Interim CFO William E. Sliney, 73, has retired. Before joining VirnetX, Sliney was CFO of Legacy Software and CEO of Gump’s. He has also served as a Director at Enterra Energy Trust.

Sliney is replaced by Richard H. Nance, 63. From 2002 to 2011, Nance served as the EVP & CFO of Strasbaugh, a designer of precision surfacing systems and solutions for semiconductor, data storage, and LED markets. Prior to that, he served as the CFO of Greentrac, a privately held software company.

Comverse Technology Names CEO

Comverse Technology appointed Philippe Tartavull, 54, as President and CEO of the company's software subsidiary Comverse, Inc. He will also join the company’s board. Previously, he served as the President and CEO of Hypercom, an electronic payment products and services company. Before that, he was the President of Oberthur Card Systems of America Corp., a leading provider of card-based solutions and related software, applications and services.

MarketAxess Board Changes

Nicolas S. Rohatyn, 50, is leaving the board of MarketAxess, an electronic trading platform operator. He has been a director since 2000. Earlier in his career, he was the CEO and Chief Investment Officer of TRG Management, Investment Manager of TRG Global Opportunity Master Fund, and Executive Director at JPMorgan.

Steven L. Begleiter has been appointed to MarketAxess’ board. He is a Senior Principal at Flexpoint Ford, a private equity investment firm. Prior to joining Flexpoint Ford, he was Senior MD and member of the Corporate Strategy Group at Bear Stearns.

JDA Software Appoints Legal Head; Board Changes Made

JDA Software appointed David Kennedy, 50, as EVP & Chief Legal Officer. Most recently, he was the General Counsel and Secretary at Better Place, a startup that builds infrastructure networks for electric vehicles. Previously, he was General Counsel at Business Objects and served at IBM for 18 years.

JDA also appointed Arthur C. Young, 42, to its board. He replaces Douglas G. Marlin, 64, who retired after 11 years of service. Young is a Managing Partner of Blum Capital. Prior to Blum, he served as a Partner at Blavin & Company, Investment Principal at Fir Tree Partners, Consultant at McKinsey, and Litigation Associate at Greenberg Traurig.

Richard M. Haddrill, 57, has been appointed to the newly created position of Lead Independent Director of the board. He currently serves as CEO of Bally Technologies. Previously, he was the CEO of Manhattan Associates and Powerhouse Technologies. Earlier in his career, he served as an Area Managing Partner for Ernst & Young.

Cornerstone OnDemand Names Concur Technologies CEO to Board

Cornerstone OnDemand named Steve Singh to its board. Currently, he is the CEO and Chairman of Concur Technologies, a travel and expense management solutions provider. Singh has served as CEO of Concur since 1996 and as a director since 1993. Prior to joining Concur, Singh was GM of the Contact Management Division at Symantec.

Micro Focus Appoints North America Leadership Team

Micro Focus, a software products and consulting company, appointed Eric Pan as VP of Marketing for North America. Prior to joining Micro Focus, he spent seven years at VMware, where he was Director of Americas Alliance Marketing.

The company also appointed Jim Bladich as VP of North American Sales Operations. Most recently, he served as the SVP of Sales Operations for Allen Systems Group.

Susan Drennan was appointed to the newly created role of VP of Channel Sales for North America. A Micro Focus veteran of 12 years, she most recently served as the VP of North America ISV & SAM Sales. Drennan joined Micro Focus from Lexmark International, where she served as a Sales Manager in the Finance Division.

Omnicell Director Resigns

William H. Younger Jr., 60, resigned from the board at Omnicell, a provider of automated solutions to hospitals. He has been a director since 1992. Since 1981, Younger has been Managing Director of Sutter Hill Ventures, a VC firm. He is also a director of Cardica and several privately held companies.

Accelrys Marketing & Corporate Development Head Resigns

Todd Johnson, EVP of Marketing, Corporate Development and Strategy, has resigned from Accelrys, a scientific business intelligence software company. He joined the company in 2009 as Interim CEO. Previously, he was the SVP of Global Marketing at Verisign. He joined Verisign after it acquired Kontiki, a cloud solution provider where he served as CEO.

PROS Appoints VP, Sales for the Mid-Market

PROS, the pricing and management software company, appointed Kevin P. Fitzgerald as VP, Sales for the Mid-Market. He joins PROS from iContact, where he served as SVP of Sales and Business Development. He has held senior roles at Relativity Technologies, Red Hat, Ultimus, and Channel Advisor. Fitzgerald began his career at IBM, where he held numerous finance, sales and marketing roles.

NQ Mobile Appoints Senior Executives

NQ Mobile, a mobile internet security company, selected Conrad Edwards to serve as Chief Experience Officer and GM of International Marketing. Edwards joins the NQ Mobile team from Samsung Mobile, where he served as a Senior Executive leading design and technology experiences. Prior to Samsung, he led the Experience Engineering and Interactive Media organizations at Motorola Mobility.

Victoria Repice has been selected as the company’s Senior Director of Product Management. Repice joins NQ Mobile from Samsung Mobile, where she served as an executive in charge of Product Marketing & Operations for Content & Services. Before Samsung, she served as Senior Director of Product Management at Barnes & Noble.

Intermec Sees CEO Departure

Intermec, a data identification and collection software company, announced that Patrick J. Byrne, 50, has resigned as President, CEO and Director. Prior to Intermec, he served as SVP and President of the Electronic Measurement Group of Agilent Technologies. Before that, he was Agilent’s VP & GM of the Electronic Products and Solutions Group’s Wireless Business Unit.

Chairman of the Board Allen J. Lauer, 73, will serve as Interim CEO and President until a permanent successor is in place. He will continue to serve as Chairman of the Board. Lauer is the retired Chairman and CEO of Varian, a supplier of scientific instruments and vacuum technologies.

Director Stephen P. Reynolds, 63, will serve as Lead Independent Director and will succeed Lauer in the position of Chairman of the company's Governance and Nominating Committee. Reynolds is the former President, CEO and Director of Puget Energy.

Former TowerGroup Analyst Joins Axway

Axway appointed Susan Feinberg to the role of Director of Financial Services Solutions Enablement. Feinberg comes to Axway from TowerGroup, where she spent 8 years as the Senior Research Director in Wholesale Banking Research Service.

Checkpoint Systems Chairman & CEO Retires, Director Departs from Company

Checkpoint Systems, a network security software company, announced that Chairman, President and CEO Rob van der Merwe, 58, has retired from the company. The Board named Independent Director George Babich, Jr., 59, as interim CEO and President. Previously, Babich served as President and CFO of Pep Boys and held senior financial management positions at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, Pepsico, Ford Motor, and The Franklin Mint. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army.

The Board elected William S. Antle, III, 66, as Non-Executive Chairman. He has been a Director at Checkpoint since 2003. Previously, he served as the Chairman, President and CEO of Oak Industries. He is also the co-founder of the Hadleigh Group, a consulting firm, and has held senior management positions with Bain & Company.

Director Robert N. Wildrick, 65, has also resigned from the Checkpoint Board. He has been a Director since 2008. He is the former CEO of Jos. A. Bank Clothiers.

SAS Appoints VP of Government and MD for UK & Ireland Operations

SAS, a provider of business analytics and BI software, promoted Ian Manocha to VP of Government for EMEA and Asia Pacific. He has also been selected to join the EMEA and Asia Pacific Board. Most recently, Manocha served as the company’s VP & MD for UK & Ireland. He joined the company in 1996 and has also held other senior roles at the company, including MD of Australia, GM of Financial Services for EMEA, and UK Sales Director.

Mark Wilkinson has been selected to replace Manocha as VP & MD for UK & Ireland. Most recently, he served as the VP of UK Applications at Oracle and was a member of the UK Management Board. He joined Oracle after it acquired Hyperion, a business performance management software company where he served as MD of the UK and Netherlands operations.

RealNetworks Sees Leadership Changes

Tracy D. Daw, 45, resigned as Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary of RealNetworks after serving at the company for 12 years. Prior to joining RealNetworks, Daw was a partner at the law firm of Sidley & Austin in Chicago.

Torrie Dorrell joined the company as SVP of Digital Media and Strategy. Most recently, Dorrell served as VP of Applications, Content and Games at T-Mobile. Prior to T-Mobile, she held executive positions at Sony Online Entertainment, Universal Studios, Warner Bros., and The Walt Disney Company.

The company also named Robert Gross as the VP of New Products. Previously, Gross spent over 16 years with Microsoft, where he held various leadership and engineering management roles. Before Microsoft, he held executive positions at IBM, Sun Microsystems, Yamaha Music, and LucasFilm.

IntraLinks Appoints CMO from Sophos

IntraLinks, an IT security and data protection software company, appointed Rainer Gawlick as the company's Chief Marketing Officer. He joins IntraLinks after serving as the CMO of Sophos. Before joining Sophos, he served as VP of Worldwide Marketing at SolidWorks and Aspen Technology. Earlier in his career, he was an Engagement Manager at McKinsey and Company.

ShoreTel Sees Series of Leadership Changes

Joe Vitalone returned to ShoreTel, a VoIP products company, as VP of Channel Management. Previously, he was Chairman at JJentry Publishing and VP of Sales, Americas at LifeSize Communications. Prior to LifeSize, he was VP of North America Sales at ShoreTel.

Timothy C. Gaines was named VP of North America Sales. He joined ShoreTel in 2007. Prior to ShoreTel, Gaines served as SVP of Sales at Covad (now MegaPath). Previously, Gaines served as regional director and GM for a U.S. subsidiary of Fujitsu and held VP posts at StarVox and PictureTel Corporation.

Mark Arman is now VP of International Sales and Worldwide Distribution. He joined ShoreTel in 2006 and led business development efforts, including strategic planning, M&A, and global channel processes. Before joining ShoreTel, Arman was founding CEO of WindSpring, CEO of Conferserv, and a Manager with LEK Consulting.

Kit Digital Chairman Resigns from Board

Kit Digital, an IP video software company, announced that Board Chairman Kaleil Isaza Tuzman, 40, has resigned from the board. Previously, he has served as the President and COO of JumpTV, Managing Partner of KIT Capital, and as Chairman and CEO of KPE, a digital media company.

Former Bain and McKinsey Alum Joins Radisys Board

Radisys appointed Vincent H. Tobkin, 59, to its board. He also serves as a member of the board at Tellabs. He is the Owner of Tobkin Enterprises, which is an advisor to several companies and management teams. Prior to this role, he was a Senior Advisor, Director and Global Telecom/Technology Practice Leader at Bain & Company. Before joining Bain, he was a Founding General Partner at Sierra Ventures and a Partner at McKinsey & Company. In the past, he served as the Chairman of MVC Capital.

Camelot Selects Former Capgemini and HP Exec as Director

Enterprise application services provider Camelot Information Systems appointed Bo Chen as an independent director to its Board of Directors. Chen most recently served as Corporate VP, Chairman of the China Country Board, and President of Greater China at Capgemini. Prior to that, he served as EVP of the Technology Solution Group of Greater China at Hewlett-Packard and as Global VP and President of Greater China at BearingPoint.

Dora Vell

Dora Vell is the Managing Partner of Vell Executive Search, a boutique executive search firm in Boston focused on recruiting technology executives and board members. Vell has successfully completed numerous board member and C-level executive searches, including CEOs, COOs, CIOs, and Vice Presidents - at both public and private companies.

Prior to founding the firm in 2005, Vell was a Partner at Heidrick & Struggles' Technology practice for seven years.  Before her career in executive search, she worked at IBM for 11 years, managing software engineering organizations of 100 people and software sales organizations with revenues of $150 million. She has also served as an executive assistant to the CEO of IBM Canada for one year.

Vell holds seven worldwide software patents. She has received an MBA from the University of Toronto, a Master in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, and a Bachelor in Computer Science from Carleton. She has also completed the MIT Entrepreneurial Master’s program.
