CIO Appointed at Intel

Kim Stevenson, the GM & VP of IT Operations and Services, has been named as the company’s new CIO. Prior to joining Intel, Stevenson served at EDS as the VP of the Worldwide Communications, Media, and Entertainment Industry Practice. While at EDS, she also served as the VP of Enterprise Service Management and as the VP of the Infrastructure Portfolio. Earlier in her career, Stevenson was a VP at IBM.

CIO at Identification Solutions Provider Gains New Title

Brady Corporation has given CIO Bentley Curran, 48, the additional title of VP of Digital Business. In addition to his CIO responsibilities, he will lead Brady's digital transformation to better serve customers. Curran joined Brady in 1999 and has held a variety of leadership positions during his tenure. Before joining the company, he served as a Systems Consultant at CompuCom Systems and as an IT Manager at Alliance Laundry Systems.

Global BPO Company Promotes Insider to CIO

TeleTech Holdings promoted Martin DeGhetto, the former EVP of Operations, to the role of EVP & CIO. Previously, he served as the SVP & COO of the Commercial Division at Connextions, a healthcare IT provider. Before that, he was the SVP of North American & European Operations at Convergys. DeGhetto has also served as the VP of International Customer Service at American Express.

Financial Holding Company Selects New EVP

S&T Bancorp announced that Rob Werner has been promoted to EVP of Bank Operations and Technology. In this position, Werner will be responsible for the bank's operations department. He joined the company in 1991 as a Manager of Loan Operations. In the past, Werner has also served at Mellon Bank and First Federal of Pittsburgh.

CIO Departs from Airlines Operator

Hawaiian Holdings announced the resignation of David Osborne, the company’s EVP & CIO. Prior to joining Hawaiian, he spent nearly 20 years developing and consulting on complex global information distribution systems for banks and financial services firms. Osborne has also served as an MD at Bank of New York and Deutsche Bank. Prior to joining Deutsche Bank, he was the CTO of Plural and VP at Banker’s Trust Company.

CTO Leaves Internet Search Services Provider

Infospace announced the resignation of CTO Travis McElfresh, 40. Previously, he served as CTO & VP of Technology at Onecast, a news and video service platform startup. Before that, he was the VP of Technology at McElfresh has also served as a Lead Program Manager at Microsoft and as a Director of Technical Training at OneSoft.

Women’s Apparel Retailer Promotes VP, Tech to CIO

Coldwater Creek promoted David Edwards to the position of SVP & CIO. Most recently, he served as the company’s VP of Business & Technology Alignment. Before joining Coldwater, Edwards was a Director of Client Relationship Management at Warner Bros. Entertainment Group. Earlier in his career, he held management positions at eToys, Kurt Salmon, Rock-Tenn Company, and Wright Plastics.

Dora Vell

Dora Vell is the Managing Partner of Vell Executive Search, a boutique executive search firm in Boston focused on recruiting technology executives and board members. Vell has successfully completed numerous board member and C-level executive searches, including CEOs, COOs, CIOs, and Vice Presidents - at both public and private companies.

Prior to founding the firm in 2005, Vell was a Partner at Heidrick & Struggles' Technology practice for seven years.  Before her career in executive search, she worked at IBM for 11 years, managing software engineering organizations of 100 people and software sales organizations with revenues of $150 million. She has also served as an executive assistant to the CEO of IBM Canada for one year.

Vell holds seven worldwide software patents. She has published several Business of Leadership reports on governance and leadership and has been quoted in numerous articles including The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Business Week, Fortune, Agenda Week, MSNBC, Mass High Tech, the OPUS for the World Economic Forum, Boston Business Journal, The Globe & Mail, CIO Magazine, and IEEE. She also has been a featured speaker on leadership at numerous conferences and at Columbia University's MBA program.

Vell is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), the Boston CEO Roundtable. She has served on the boards of Framingham State, Entrepreneur's Organization, Goodwill, Mary Centre for developmentally handicapped adults,, and RBC Capital Partners.

She has received an MBA from the University of Toronto, a Master in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, and a Bachelor in Computer Science from Carleton. She has also completed the MIT Entrepreneurial Master’s program.
