JP Morgan Exec on Philip Morris Board

Philip Morris International named Kalpana Morparia, 58, to its Board of Directors. Currently, Morparia serves as JP Morgan’s India CEO. She also sits on the board of Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, an integrated global pharma company, and CMC, a leading Indian systems engineering and integration company. Before joining JP Morgan, Morparia was MD of ICICI Bank, India’s second largest bank. She also served as Vice Chair of ICICI’s Insurance and Asset Management Business. She was named one of "The 50 Most Powerful Women in International Business" by Fortune Magazine in 2008.

Former Diplomat Joins Ralph Lauren Board

Judith McHale, 64, has been selected to join the Board of Ralph Lauren. McHale is the former Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs for the U.S. Department of State. She previously served on Ralph Lauren’s Board from 2001 to 2009. Earlier in her career, McHale served as CEO, COO & General Counsel for Discovery Communications.

Ralph Lauren Exec Joins Campbell Soup Board

The Campbell Soup Company has appointed Ralph Lauren SVP & CFO Tracey Travis, 49, to its Board. Before joining Ralph Lauren in 2005, she was the SVP of Finance at Limited Brands, the parent company of Victoria’s Secret and Bath & Body Works. She also served as CFO for Intimate Brands.  Before that, Travis was CFO of Beverage Can Americas Group and held management positions at PepsiCo and Pepsi Bottling Group. Travis began her career as an engineer with GM and went on to work in financial roles at the company. She has also served on the Board of Jo-Ann Stores.

Wine & Spirits Company Selects New Board Member

Brown-Forman has named Joan Lordi Amble, 57, to the company’s Board. Currently, Amble serves on the Board of Sirius XM Radio. Most recently, she was the SVP, Principal Accounting Officer, EVP, and Controller at American Express. Before joining American Express, Amble was the CFO of GE Capital Markets. In the past, she has served on the boards of Atari and Broadcom.

Wal-Mart EVP Leaves Molson Coors Board

The Molson Coors Brewing Company announced the resignation of Rosalind Brewer, 48, as a Director on its Board. Currently, Brewer serves on the Lockheed Martin Board of Directors and is EVP of Wal-Mart. Before being named EVP, she served as SVP, Division President of Operations, and Regional GM. Earlier in her career, Brewer was President of Global Nonwovens, a division of Kimberly-Clark.

Facebook Exec on Fitness Apparel Board

lululemon athletica has appointed Emily White to its Board. Currently, White serves as the Senior Director of Local and Mobile Partnerships at Facebook. Prior to joining Facebook, she held several roles at Google, including Director of Emerging Businesses, Head of North America Online Sales & Operations, and Director of Asia Pacific & Latin America Online Sales & Operations. White also serves on the Board of the National Center for Women in I.T., a non-profit coalition.

Dow Veteran on Eastman Chemical Board

Eastman Chemical has elected Julie Fasone Holder, 58, to the company’s Board. Holder joined Dow Chemical in 1975 and held a variety of roles at the company, including SVP and Chief Marketing, Sales, and Reputation Officer. She is also the founder and CEO of JFH Insights, a consulting firm which provides leadership coaching for women executives.

Former General Motors Exec on Auto Board

Dr. Xiaozhi Liu has been selected to join the Board of Autoliv, a developer and manufacturer of automotive safety systems. Currently, Liu serves as the Chairman & CEO of ASL Automobile Science & Technology, a startup company she founded. Earlier in her career, she was CEO & Vice Chairman for Fuyao Glass Industry Group.  Prior to Fuyao Glass, Liu held several roles at GM, including Chairman & CEO for GM Taiwan, Director of Electronics, Controls & Software in Detroit, and Chief Engineer & CTO for GM China. Currently, she is the Chairman of NeoTek China and a Director of Viryd Technologies, a wind-turbine company.

Medical Equipment Company Selects New Board Member

Hologic named Christiana Stamoulis, 40, to its Board. Stamoulis is the SVP of Corporate Strategy and Business Development at Vertex Pharmaceuticals. Prior to Vertex, she served as a Managing Director at Citigroup, VP at Goldman Sachs, and Senior Associate at Booz Allen Hamilton.

Campbell Soup CSO on Sunoco Board

Sunoco announced the election of Irene Chang Britt, 48, to its Board. Currently, Britt is the SVP & Chief Strategy Officer for The Campbell Soup Company. She also sits on the Board of Advisors for Catalyst. Prior to joining Campbell, she spent around 20 years in general management and marketing with Kraft and Kimberly-Clark.

Allscripts Recruits Former Kodak Exec to its Board

Allscripts, a healthcare management software provider, announced that Catherine Burzik, 59, has been appointed to its Board of Directors. Currently, she is the President & CEO of Kinetic Concepts, a leading medical technology company. Before joining Kinetic Concepts, she served as President of Applied Biosystems Group and SVP of Applera. Burzik has also served at Eastman Kodak Company, where she held various operations and marketing positions during her 20 year tenure. She currently serves as a board member at KCI, the San Antonio branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, and AdvaMed.

Dora Vell

Dora Vell is the Managing Partner of Vell Executive Search, a boutique executive search firm in Boston focused on recruiting technology executives and board members. Vell has successfully completed numerous board member and C-level executive searches, including CEOs, COOs, CIOs, and Vice Presidents - at both public and private companies.

Prior to founding the firm in 2005, Vell was a Partner at Heidrick & Struggles' Technology practice for seven years.  Before her career in executive search, she worked at IBM for 11 years, managing software engineering organizations of 100 people and software sales organizations with revenues of $150 million. She has also served as an executive assistant to the CEO of IBM Canada for one year.

Vell holds seven worldwide software patents. She has published several Business of Leadership reports on governance and leadership and has been quoted in numerous articles including The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Business Week, Fortune, Agenda Week, MSNBC, Mass High Tech, the OPUS for the World Economic Forum, Boston Business Journal, The Globe & Mail, CIO Magazine, and IEEE. Vell is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), the Boston CEO Roundtable. She has served on the boards of Framingham State, Entrepreneur's Organization, Goodwill, Mary Centre for developmentally handicapped adults,, and RBC Capital Partners.

She has received an MBA from the University of Toronto, a Master in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, and a Bachelor in Computer Science from Carleton. She has also completed the MIT Entrepreneurial Master’s program.
