Cisco SVP Joins Moody’s Board
Moody's, a leading credit rating company, announced that Kathy Hill, 55, has been elected to its Board of Directors. She will also serve as a member of the Governance & Compensation Committee and Audit Committee. Currently, Hill is the SVP of Development Strategy & Operations at Cisco Systems. Prior to joining Cisco, she served as VP of Ascend Communications and held senior engineering management positions at Newbridge Networks and Hughes Network Systems. Hill is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology.
Chemical Cleaning Supplies Company Hires Former JP Morgan Exec
Ecolab has selected Mary VanDeWeghe, 51, to join its Board. Currently, she serves as a professor of the practice of finance at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business. Earlier in her career, VanDeWeghe was the SVP of Finance for Lockheed Martin and the CEO & President of Forte Consulting. While at Forte, she also served as executive in residence and finance professor at University of Maryland’s Smith School of Business. She began her career at J.P. Morgan, where she held a variety of positions in corporate finance, capital markets, and general management. VanDeWeghe is a member of the Board of Directors of Brown Advisory, an investment management company.
Energy Company Loses Board Member
EQT Corporation announced that Barbara Jeremiah, 59, is resigning from the company’s Board. She will not stand for re-election when her current term expires at the company's next annual meeting in April 2012. Most recently, Jeremiah was EVP of Corporate Development at Alcoa, a leading producer of aluminum. She spent over 30 years at Alcoa and also served the company as a Senior Managing Attorney and Assistant General Counsel.
Canadian Joins Financial Services Company Board
Suzanne Labarge has been selected to join the Board at XL Group. She has also been appointed to the Audit, Risk, and Finance Committees of the Board. Currently, Labarge is a member of the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Bank and a board member at Coca Cola Enterprises. Earlier in her career, Labarge was Vice Chairman and Chief Risk Officer of RBC Financial Group. She was also a director of Novelis, a Canadian producer of aluminum products.
Commercial Vehicle Control Systems Provider Gets New Director
Wabco Holdings has elected Mary Petrovich to serve on the company’s Board. She will also serve on the Audit Committee. Petrovich is former Chairman and CEO of AxleTech International, a leading global supplier of off-highway and specialty vehicle drivetrain technology. Before joining AxleTech, she served as President of Driver Controls at Dura Automotive and as VP at AlliedSignal. Petrovich currently serves as a director at Woodward, GT Advanced Technologies, and Modine Manufacturing Company.
Media & Marketing Solutions Company Appoints New CEO and Board Member
Gannett, the publisher of USA Today, announced that Gracia Martore, 59, has been named President & CEO. She has also been appointed to Gannett's Board of Directors. Martore most recently served as President & COO of the company. Before her promotion to COO, she held the titles of CFO, EVP, SVP of Finance, and VP in the Treasury group. Martore also serves on the Board of Directors of FM Global.
The company also announced that Susan Ness, 63, has been elected to the Board of Directors. In the past, Ness has served as a Commissioner of the FCC, where she played a leading role on spectrum policy issues and fostered the integration of new technologies. Prior to joining the FCC, she was the President & CEO of GreenStone Media, a company which produced talk programming designed for women. She was also appointed as a member of the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board by President Barack Obama in 2011. Currently, Ness serves on the Board of Vital Voices Global Partnership, a nonprofit organization that identifies and invests in extraordinary women worldwide.
Entrepreneur on Biotech Board
Bio-Rad Laboratories announced that Deborah Neff, 57, has been appointed to its Board of Directors. Currently, Neff is President & CEO of Pathwork Diagnostics, a molecular diagnostics company. Prior to Pathwork, she was the CEO of Predicant Biosciences, a life sciences company. Neff has also held various management positions at BD Biosciences, including Worldwide President.
