Facebook Exec Joins eBay Board

eBay announced that Katie Mitic is joining the company's Board of Directors. She currently leads Platform and Mobile Marketing for Facebook. Prior to joining Facebook, Mitic served as SVP of Global Product Marketing at Palm, where she oversaw hardware and software product management and marketing. Before Palm, she was the VP & GM at Yahoo! Currently, Mitic serves on the Board of Special Olympics International.

Two New Female Committee Members at Dell

Janet Clark, 56, the EVP, Treasurer, & CFO of Marathon Oil, has been selected to serve on Dell’s Audit Committee. In the past, Clark has served as SVP & CFO for Nuevo Energy and as CFO & EVP of Corporate Development and Administration at Santa Fe Snyder.

Laura Conigliaro, 65, a former Partner at Goldman Sachs, has joined the Board's Finance Committee. At Goldman Sachs, she was codirector of the firm's Americas Equity Research unit and was on the Compensation Policy Committee. Prior to Goldman Sachs, Conigliaro served as a computer and design automation analyst at Prudential and as an intelligence analyst at the National Security Agency.

SVP of Medical Systems Company on Altera Board

Altera, a manufacturer of programmable logic devices, announced that Elisha Finney, 49, has become the newest member of the company's Board. Currently, Finney serves as the SVP & CFO of Varian Medical Systems. Prior to Varian Medical Systems, she held management positions at The Fox Group and Beatrice Foods. Finney also serves on the Board of Directors for Thoratec, a medical device company.

Banking Industry Veteran on Board of Coding Technology Company

Veritec has appointed Sandra Hartfield, 60, to its Board of Directors. Currently, she is the President & CEO of Hartfield Financial Services. Prior to this, Hartfield served as the CAO & CFO of Palm Desert National Bank and as the President & CEO of the company’s Electronic Banking Division.

Former HP Exec on Saba Board

Saba Software, a learning and talent management provider, announced the addition of Nora Denzel, 49, to its Board of Directors. Currently, she is the SVP of Marketing at Intuit, a company which provides cloud financial management software and services. Prior to her experience at Intuit, Denzel served as the SVP of Software at HP, SVP of Product Operations at Legato Systems, and held several engineering and marketing positions at IBM.

New Board Member at Network Engines

Patricia C. Sueltz has been selected to serve on the Board of Directors at NEI. She will also join the company’s Compensation Committee and Nominating Committee. Sueltz currently serves as an independent director for Hitachi Global Storage Technologies, UpStart Mobile, and Objectivity. She is also on the Board of Directors at the American Foundation for the Blind. In the past, Sueltz served as CEO of LogLogic, an enterprise-class log management infrastructure and analysis provider. She was also the CEO of SurfControl, an Internet filtering and blocking proxy.

Dora Vell

Dora Vell is the Managing Partner of Vell Executive Search, a boutique executive search firm in Boston focused on recruiting technology executives and board members. Vell has successfully completed numerous board member and C-level executive searches, including CEOs, COOs, CIOs, and Vice Presidents - at both public and private companies.

Prior to founding the firm in 2005, Vell was a Partner at Heidrick & Struggles' Technology practice for seven years.  Before her career in executive search, she worked at IBM for 11 years, managing software engineering organizations of 100 people and software sales organizations with revenues of $150 million. She has also served as an executive assistant to the CEO of IBM Canada for one year.

Vell holds seven worldwide software patents. She has published several Business of Leadership reports on governance and leadership and has been quoted in numerous articles including The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Business Week, Fortune, Agenda Week, MSNBC, Mass High Tech, the OPUS for the World Economic Forum, Boston Business Journal, The Globe & Mail, CIO Magazine, and IEEE. She also has been a featured speaker on leadership at numerous conferences and at Columbia University's MBA program.

Vell is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), the Boston CEO Roundtable. She has served on the boards of Framingham State, Entrepreneur's Organization, Goodwill, Mary Centre for developmentally handicapped adults,, and RBC Capital Partners.

She has received an MBA from the University of Toronto, a Master in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, and a Bachelor in Computer Science from Carleton. She has also completed the MIT Entrepreneurial Master’s program.
