Former CEO of Thomson Reuters Markets Joins eBay

eBay announced that Devin Wenig, 44, has joined the company as President of its Global eBay Marketplaces Business Unit. In this position, his responsibilities will include overseeing eBay, eBay classifieds, and StubHub. Wenig was most recently the CEO of Thomson Reuters Markets, where he led the company's global financial services and media businesses. Wenig also led the integration of Reuters and Thomson following the merger of the two companies. In the past, he has held other executive positions with Reuters and practiced law at the New York firm of Cravath, Swaine & Moore.

Major Shakeup at Yahoo!

Yahoo! announced that it has fired Carol Bartz, 63, from her position as CEO of the company. Tim Morse, the current CFO, has been appointed as Interim CEO while the Board searches for a permanent replacement. Bartz joined Yahoo! from Autodesk, where she served as Chairman & CEO. Prior to Autodesk, she was the VP of Worldwide Field Operations at Sun Microsystems. Currently, she serves as lead independent director for Cisco Systems’ Board. In the past, she has served on the boards of BEA Systems, Intel, and NetApp.

Liz Lufkin, the VP of Front Page Editorial Programming, is leaving the company as part of Editor-in-Chief Jai Singh's reorganization of the Yahoo Media Network. Before joining Yahoo, Lufkin served as Deputy Managing Editor at USA Today and co-founded the San Francisco Chronicle's

Bobby Figueroa, the VP of Product Development, has announced he is leaving the company. Before Yahoo, Figueroa spent 3 years as the Head of Product Marketing at Google. He has also served as the Director of Product Management and Planning at Microsoft and as a Brand Manager at Procter & Gamble.

The company also announced that it has created an Executive Leadership Council and has named several company executives as new members. Appointments within the company include EVP & CPO Blake Irving, EVP & General Counsel Michael Callahan, EVP of Americas Ross Levinsohn, SVP & MD Rich Riley, and SVP of the APAC Region Rose Tsou.

CAO Departure at AOL

AOL announced that Douglas Horne, the company’s CAO & Controller, has resigned from the company. Matthew Kelpy, 38, has been appointed to serve in his place as the new Controller and CAO. Kelpy last served as AOL's VP and Assistant Controller. Prior to joining AOL, he served as a Senior Manager at Deloitte & Touche.

Online Search Company Gets New Board Member

InfoSpace announced that it has appointed Andrew Snyder, 40, the current CEO of Cambridge Information Group (CIG), to its Board of Directors. In addition to this appointment, he will head a newly-created M&A committee. Prior to joining CIG, Snyder was a VP at Goldman Sachs. He also serves as a director for RR Bowker, ProQuest, Navtech, and The Association of American Publishers.

New VP at announced the appointment of Bob Iguchi as the company's new VP of Operations. Iguchi most recently owned and operated his own high-tech sales and service consulting firm. Prior to this, he served as Director of Enterprise Service Business Development for Cisco Systems, where he was responsible for developing and executing the company's service strategy for the small and medium-sized business (SMB) group.

Dora Vell

Dora Vell is the Managing Partner of Vell Executive Search, a boutique executive search firm in Boston focused on recruiting technology executives and board members. Prior to founding the firm in 2005, Vell was a Partner at Heidrick & Struggles' Technology practice for seven years.  Before her career in executive search, she worked at IBM for 11 years, managing software engineering organizations of 100 people and software sales organizations with revenues of $150 million. She has also served as an executive assistant to the CEO of IBM Canada for one year.

Vell is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), the Boston CEO Roundtable. She has served on the boards of Framingham State, Entrepreneur's Organization, Goodwill, Mary Centre for developmentally handicapped adults,, and RBC Capital Partners.

She has received an MBA from the University of Toronto, a Master in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, and a Bachelor in Computer Science from Carleton. She has also completed the MIT Entrepreneurial Master’s program.
