New Director at Manulife
Andrea Rosen, 56, has been selected to join the boards of Manulife Financial and The Manufacturers Life Insurance Company. Most recently, Rosen served as Vice Chair and President at the TD Bank Financial Group. Earlier in her career, she held senior positions at Wood Gundy and Varity. She also serves as a director on the boards of the Alberta Investment Management, Emera, and Hiscox.
Former Under Secretary Joins Xerox
Xerox announced that Sara Martinez Tucker, 56, has been elected to its Board. Tucker last served as the Under Secretary of Education. Prior to her work with the U.S. Department of Education, Tucker was the President and CEO of the Hispanic Scholarship Fund and a senior executive at AT&T. She is also on the Board of Trustees at the University of Notre Dame and is a member of Wal-Mart's External Advisory Council.
Former MasterCard Exec on Board of Financial Corporation
Ruth Ann Marshall, 56, has been elected to the Board of Directors of Regions Financial. In the past, she served as President of the Americas for MasterCard International. Marshall is also on the boards of ConAgra Foods, Global Payments, and Pella. In 2003, she was named as one of Fortune's Top 100 Business Women.
Australian Metal Recycling Company Recruits New Board Member
Heather Ridout, 57, has joined Sims Metals Management as an independent director on its Board. Ridout is currently the CEO of the Australian Industry Group, a leading industry association providing advocacy and services to businesses in a broad range of sectors. She also serves on the board of Skills Australia, an independent body which advises the government on education, employment, and workplace relations. Prior to joining the Australian Industry Group, Ridout served as a Director of the AustralianSuper Trustee Board, the largest industry fund in Australia.
NetGear Selects Plantronics CFO for Board
NetGear, a networking equipment manufacturer, announced the appointment of Barbara Scherer, 55, to the company’s Board of Directors and Audit Committee. Currently, Scherer is the CFO and SVP of Finance & Administration of Plantronics, a mobile headsets manufacturer. Prior to joining Plantronics in 1997, she was an Associate at The Boston Consulting Group, a member of the corporate finance team at ARCO, and a Director of Keithley Instruments
New Board Member Selected at Hillenbrand
Hillenbrand, a top supplier to the death care industry, has appointed Helen Cornell, 52, to a newly created board seat. Cornell retired last year as EVP & CFO of Gardner Denver, a leading global manufacturer of compressors, blowers, pumps, loading arms, and fuel systems. During her time at Gardner Denver, she also served as VP & GM of the Fluid Transfer Division and as VP of Strategic Planning. Currently, Cornell is the Chairman of the Board and a member of the Compensation Committee at The Alamo Group and Chairman of the Board and a member of the Executive Committee at the Owensboro Grain Company.
