Oracle SVP on D&B Board

Dun & Bradstreet, a leading supplier of business information services, announced that Douglas Kehring was elected to its Board of Directors. Currently, Kehring is SVP of Corporate Development & Strategic Planning for Oracle, the world's largest enterprise software company and a leading provider of computer hardware products and services. Prior to joining Oracle, he was an Associate at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette and RBC Dain Rauscher.

Emulex Executive Chairman Joins Board at CoreLogic

CoreLogic, a hardware manufacturer, announced the appointment of Paul Folino, 66, to its Board of Directors. Folino is the Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors of Emulex, an IT product manufacturer specializing in servers and storage devices for data centers. Folino begin his career at Emulex as CEO in 1993 and became Executive Chairman in 2006. He also serves on the Board of Microsemi, a semiconductor manufacturer.

Advanced Material Provider Acquires HP Exec

Materion announced that its Board has appointed Darlene Solomon, 52, as a Director. Currently, Solomon serves as CTO for Agilent Technologies, an HP spin-off company which manufactures bioanalytical measurement instruments and equipment. Darelene joined Agilent in 1999 as Director of the Life Sciences Technologies Laboratory and Senior Director of R&D for Agilient's Life Science and Chemical Analysis business. Prior to Agilient, she served at HP Laboratories as R&D Manager for the Chemical and Biological Systems Department.

NDS Group CEO Elected to ReadlD Board

RealD announced the election of Dave Habiger, 42, to its Board of Directors. Habiger is the CEO of NDS Group, a leading provider of technology solutions for digital pay TV. Prior to NDS Group, Habiger served as President and CEO of Sonic Solutions. During his 18 years at Sonic, Habiger also held the titles of COO and GM.

Action Products Names New Board Member

Action Products, a pressure management product maker, announced the appointment of Yonghun Kim to the company's Board of Directors. He currently serves as a board member at Newdea, EDC, RediFone, and TIP Solutions. Kim is also an advisor at BB&R and MATIC. In the past, Kim has served as CEO at Power Profit Investment, a startup investment/consulting and natural resources trading firm, and Asia President at Newdea, a software company serving major private banks. Kim also served in the US Army.

Dora Vell

Dora Vell is the Managing Partner of Vell Executive Search, a boutique executive search firm in Boston focused on recruiting technology executives and board members. Vell has successfully completed numerous board member and C-level executive searches, including CEOs, COOs, CIOs, and Vice Presidents - at both public and private companies.

Prior to founding the firm in 2005, Vell was a Partner at Heidrick & Struggles' Technology practice for seven years.  Before her career in executive search, she worked at IBM for 11 years, managing software engineering organizations of 100 people and software sales organizations with revenues of $150 million. She has also served as an executive assistant to the CEO of IBM Canada for one year.

Vell holds seven worldwide software patents. She has published several Business of Leadership reports on governance and leadership and has been quoted in numerous articles including The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Business Week, Fortune, Agenda Week, MSNBC, Mass High Tech, the OPUS for the World Economic Forum, Boston Business Journal, The Globe & Mail, CIO Magazine, and IEEE. She also has been a featured speaker on leadership at numerous conferences and at Columbia University's MBA program.

Vell is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), the Boston CEO Roundtable. She has served on the boards of Framingham State, Entrepreneur's Organization, Goodwill, Mary Centre for developmentally handicapped adults,, and RBC Capital Partners.

She has received an MBA from the University of Toronto, a Master in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, and a Bachelor in Computer Science from Carleton. She has also completed the MIT Entrepreneurial Master’s program.
