Microsoft Announces Departure of Jim Dubois as CIO; Appoints New President in Russia

Microsoft CIO Jim DuBois is leaving the company. DuBois is a more than 20-year Microsoft veteran who became the company's interim CIO in 2013 and permanent CIO the following year. He went on sabbatical earlier 2017.

Microsoft appointed T. Bochenek as new Microsoft President in Russia. Now he keeps the COO position at Microsoft in Russia.

SAP SE Announces Series of Game Changing Leadership Shuffles

SAP announced that Amy Wilson joins SAP SuccessFactors as global head of Product. Wilson was most recently with Workday where she oversaw product and was responsible for implementing strategy and management processes for the human capital management (HCM) portfolio. Prior to Workday, she was VP and principal analyst of people management technologies at leading consulting firm Constellation Research Group. 

James Harvey has been appointed as global head of Engineering and Service Delivery Operations. He joins from CA Technologies where he was general manager and SVP responsible for IT business management. Prior to CA, he was VP and general manager of talent management products at Taleo.

SAP SE announced three key appointments to its North America leadership team designed to strengthen the company’s focus on growth, innovation and customer success in the region. Stephen Shute assumes the new role of EVP and chief business officer for the Americas and Asia Pacific Japan (APJ). Over the past two years, Shute served as COO for North America. Prior to SAP, Shute held senior executive roles at Allscripts and IBM. 

Donald J. (DJ) Paoni is elevated to the position of president of Sales for North America. He will drive the day-to-day strategy, profitability and customer success in the region.

Dave Spencer moves into the role of COO for North America. Spencer will have accountability for the development and consistent execution of SAP’s go-to-market and sales strategies. Most recently, Spencer was managing director of the East region, and prior, was its COO.

SAP has appointed Scott Russell president of SAP Asia Pacific Japan (APJ). In his new role, Russell will be responsible for growing company's business and presence in the APJ region, including Australia/New Zealand, Japan, Korea, the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia. Between 2014 and 2016, he was the COO for SAP in APJ. Prior to the APJ COO role, he was SVP of SAP APJ Services. Before joining SAP, Russell was a managing consultant at PwC and led the Systems Integration and Application Maintenance business for IBM Australia New Zealand.

Claas Kuehnemann will step into the role of acting managing director for Africa while the company's investigation into its South Africa business is conducted. Kuehnemann, who has been with the company since 1992, will assume all managing director responsibilities across the company's Africa portfolio, totaling 51 countries. Kuehnemann has held various executive roles at SAP, including SVP of Professional Services overseeing SAP's consulting business in EMEA, managing director for Africa, and managing director for the South-East Europe & Middle East region. Appoints Chief Communications Officer and Country Leader for India

Salesforce announced that Corey duBrowa will join the company as EVP and Chief Communications Officer. Most recently duBrowa served as SVP, Global Communications for Starbucks. During his seven-year tenure, he led the development and execution of global communications strategies to enhance and protect the Starbucks brand and corporate reputation as it grew from forty countries to seventy-five. has appointed Sunil Jose as senior area VP and country leader for India, the first time company has created such a role in India. The move underscores the company's desire to strengthen its presence in one of the fastest growing cloud regions globally. Jose was previously the managing director of Teradata India and prior to that, he served as VP at Oracle. Jose will report to Eileen O'Mara, SVP commercial business unit in Salesforce Asia-Pacific.

VMware Appoints Communications Chief from eBay; Avaya Exec Amy Fliegelman Olli joins as General Counsel

VMware appointed Claire Dixon to the post of SVP and chief communications officer. Dixon is a seasoned senior global communications leader with a strong track record of successfully driving change with globally recognized brands.  She joins VMware from eBay, where she was VP, Global Communications, leading global external communications including media, executive communications and thought-leadership, consumer PR and eBay's corporate content, digital and social channels.

VMware appointed Amy Fliegelman Olli, 53, to the post of SVP and general counsel. Olli has more than 20 years of legal experience, with most of it focused in the enterprise technology sector. She joins VMware from Avaya, where she served as SVP and general counsel, leading the Avaya Law and Global Contracting organization.

Infor Appoints Cisco Exec as SVP of Cloud Operations

Infor announced it has hired cloud expert Mayumi Hiramatsu in a newly created role, SVP of Cloud Operations. In this new role, Hiramatsu is responsible for providing direction and leadership for automation, scalability, security, and self service capabilities for Infor's cloud organization. Prior to joining Infor, Hiramatsu was VP of Product Operations at Cisco Systems, where she was accountable for life cycle management of a large line of business, including IoT and security, which helped drive Cisco's transition to recurring revenue.

Sage Group Appoints EVP of Partners, Accountants, and Alliances from Within Company ranks

The Sage Group plc has appointed Jennifer Warawa as the EVP of Partners, Accountants, and Alliances. Warawa is a ten-year veteran of Sage and an accountant by trade. Warawa was previously the head of Product Marketing at Sage, where she was responsible for leading Sage's portfolio of accounting products, including the market launches of Sage's suite of core cloud accounting technology. Warawa joined Sage in 2008 to run the accountant business in Canada, before being promoted to various leadership roles in accounting products, partners and marketing, and product marketing.

Avaya Announced Two Senior Appointments to Strengthen its UK and EMEA Marketing Team

Ross White was named head of UK Marketing. He is supported by Nick Main who was promoted and replaces White in the position of head of Channel Marketing for EMEA. In their new positions, White and Main are supporting Avaya's marketing during a period of transformation for the company in the UK and across the globe. Main joined the team in 2016 as EU Channel Marketing Manager.

Citrix Systems Announces New CEO and Interim CFO

Citrix Systems appointed David J. Henshall, 49, as President, CEO and Director of the company. Henshall succeeds Kirill Tatarinov who stepped down from his roles as President, CEO and Director. Mark M. Coyle has been appointed as Interim CFO, succeeding Henshall as the principal financial officer of the company. Henshall, has served as the company’s EVP and CFO since 2011 and as the company’s COO since 2014. Coyle has served as SVP, Finance, of the company since 2015, leading the company’s global finance, accounting, treasury, tax and real estate teams.

Autodesk Appoints New Board Member and New CEO; Interim CEO and Product Chief Amar Hanspal to Depart

Autodesk appointed Reid French, 46, to its Board of Directors. Currently he is the CEO of Applied Systems, where he is responsible for the company's overall business strategy and operational execution.

Autodesk announced that its board of directors has appointed Andrew Anagnost, 52, current interim co-CEO and chief marketing officer, as the company's new president, CEO and Director. Anagnost's appointment follows the February 2017 resignation of the company's former president and CEO, Carl Bass, 60, and a comprehensive search process conducted by the board over the last four months. After joining Autodesk in 1997, Anagnost held various technical and strategic roles. Anagnost began his career at Lockheed Aeronautical Systems Company and as an NRC fellow at NASA Ames Research Center. 

The company also announced that Amar Hanspal, 54, SVP, chief product officer and interim co-CEO, has decided to leave the company.

CDK Global Gets New CFO and CHRO

Automotive dealership software firm CDK Global has appointed Joe Tautges to serve as CDK’s new CFO. Tautges brings 20 years of experience leading global finance, accounting and operations teams for large technology, consumer products and business consulting companies. Tautges most recently served as CFO of Enterprise Services segment of Hewlett Packard Enterprise.

Amy Byrne recently joined the company as EVP and CHRO. Amy brings nearly 25 years of experience leading large global HR teams across talent, compensation and benefits, diversity, labor relations, and organizational engagement. Most recently, Amy was with Avon Products where she led the human resources organization for the Latin America and Global Brand Marketing businesses.

Facebook Leader with Mobile and Payments Platform Product Experience Joins Intuit’s Board

Intuit appointed Deborah (Deb) Liu to its board of directors. Liu currently leads Facebook's developer and commerce businesses. Her experience includes eBay, where she was director of product for the end-to-end buyer experience, and PayPal where she was the product director for eBay business, social commerce, and charity. She also spearheaded the integration between eBay and PayPal. Liu was previously a consultant at Boston Consulting Group. Liu is a seed investor and adviser to several start-ups. She co-founded and is the Board Chair of Women in Product, and serves on the board of Expanding Your Horizons Network, a non-profit that focuses on inspiring girls to pursue STEM careers.

Cadence Design Systems Elects Former Frontier Communications’ CEO as Director

Cadence Design Systems, the electronic design automation software and engineering services company, elected Mary Agnes Wilderotter, 62, to serve as a director of the Company. Wilderotter served in a number of positions at Frontier Communications, including as Executive Chairman and CEO.  Prior to joining Frontier Communications, she served as SVP of the worldwide public sector of Microsoft, as well as SVP of worldwide business strategy.  She is also a board member of Costco Wholesale Corporation, Hewlett Packard Enterprise and Juno Therapeutics.

PTC Grieves Demise of Board Member

PTC reported the death of Renato (Ron) Zambonini, 70, a member of the PTC Board of Directors, passed away. Zambonini had a long and distinguished career in the technology industry, including serving as CEO of Cognos from 1995 until his retirement in 2004.

athenahealth Announces CFO Changes

athenahealth announced that Karl Stubelis, 51, will step down from his positions as SVP, CFO, chief accounting officer, and treasurer. John A. “Jack” Kane, 64, a member of the board since July 2007, to serve as interim CFO. During his service as interim CFO, Kane will remain on the board. Stubelis has served as SVP and CFO since May 2016. Stubelis was appointed as Chief Accounting Officer in 2014, and has served as Treasurer since February 2016.

Fortinet Appoints Founding Member of Amazon Web Services (AWS) Peter Cohen to Board

Fortinet appointed Peter Cohen to the company’s board of directors. Cohen is a 17-year Amazon executive veteran and founding member of Amazon Web Services (AWS), where he served in senior business and technical roles driving business growth. At AWS, he led strategic direction, product definition and development for several core AWS cloud service offerings. Most recently, Cohen led strategy, acquisition, and investment for AWS. Prior, he built and ran the Amazon Mechanical Turk business, where he was responsible for building and operating core technology and computing-related architectural initiatives.

Take-Two Interactive Software Appoints David Ismailer as President of 2K

Take-Two Interactive Software, a leading developer, publisher and marketer of interactive entertainment for consumers, reported that David Ismailer has been appointed as the new President of 2K, a label of the company that develops and publishes interactive entertainment. Ismailer began working with company in 2002 as VP and Senior Counsel. In 2005, the year that 2K was formed, he was appointed the label's COO and SVP of Publishing Operations. 

Fair Isaac Announces Resignation of Greg R. Gianforte from its Board

Greg R. Gianforte, 56, tendered his resignation from the Board of Fair Isaac Corporation (FICO). Gianforte resigned from the Board of Directors as a result of his election to the U.S. House of Representatives. Greg was the Founder of Rightnow Technologies in September 1995 and served as its CEO from 1999 to 2012.

Cision Announces Management and Board Appointments after Merger

The parent company of Cision, the public relations (PR) software firm, and Capitol Acquisition Corp. III announced the closing of their merger. The combined company was renamed Cision Ltd. Cision’s management team, led by CEO Kevin Akeroyd and CFO Jack Pearlstein, will continue to run the combined company. In connection with the transaction, Capitol’s stockholders elected seven directors to serve on the board of the combined company: Mark M. Anderson who will serve as Chairman, Mark D. Ein, who will serve as Vice Chairman, as well as Kevin Akeroyd, Philip A. Canfield, L. Dyson Dryden, Stephen P. Master, and Stuart Yarbrough, who will serve as directors.

Manhattan Associates Names Craig Summers as Managing Director for UK

Supply chain software company Manhattan Associates appointed Craig Summers as Managing Director, UK. In this role, Summers will lead and manage all aspects of Manhattan's UK business, including Sales, Professional Services and Customer Services operations.  Summers joins Manhattan from Oracle where he held senior leadership positions including, most recently, senior director for Customer Experience (CX) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) SaaS Applications. 

Ansys Appoints Janet Lee as General Counsel from HERE Technologies

Ansys, the Computer-aided engineering software developer, appointed Janet Lee as general counsel. Lee will help the engineering simulation leader navigate sophisticated legal topics as it enters the next phase of its growth. She most recently served as senior legal officer at HERE Technologies.

Paylocity CFO Steps Down

Peter McGrail, 58, ceased to serve as the CFO of Paylocity, the online payroll & HCM software solutions. McGrail will continue to serve as an employee of the corporation. President and CEO Steven Beauchamp was appointed acting CFO, and in such capacity, will serve as the Corporation's principal financial officer and principal accounting officer until a successor is identified.

Veeva Systems Appoints Former eBay CTO Mark Carges as Director

Veeva Systems, the cloud-based business solutions provider for the global life sciences industry, appointed Mark Carges, 55, to the company’s board of directors. Carges brings deep development and operational experience to Veeva’s board, having built some of the most impactful and widely-used consumer and enterprise software platforms. Carges previously served as CTO at eBay and BEA Systems. He is currently on the board of directors of Splunk and Magnet Systems.

Proofpoint Appoints Influential Cybersecurity Leader Michael Johnson to Board

Proofpoint, the SaaS based cybersecurity firm, appointed Michael Johnson as a new independent director. Johnson currently serves as SVP and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) of Capital One Financial Corporation. Prior to this role, he served as the CIO for the U.S. Department of Energy overseeing cybersecurity, cyber enterprise integration, enterprise information resources management, cyber supply chain risk management, and headquarters information technology operations.

Vertafore Appoints McKinsey Knowledge Expert for Product and Strategy Role

Vertafore, the developer of cloud-based software and services to the insurance industry, named Sharmila Ray to SVP, Product and Strategy. Ray joins Vertafore after 11 years at McKinsey & Company where she most recently served as an Associate Partner and Senior Knowledge Expert. Ray served property-casualty, health, and life carriers and brokers across strategy, marketing, distribution, digital, and customer experience priorities for over ten years with McKinsey & Company. 

2U Appoints its First Chief Communications and Engagement Officer

Education technology company 2U announced that David Sutphen will join the company as its first Chief Communications and Engagement Officer. In this newly created role, Sutphen will report directly to Christopher "Chip" Paucek, 2U's CEO and co-founder, and oversee global communications, public affairs, corporate brand and events. Sutphen joins 2U from Brunswick Group where he was a partner and head of the Washington, D.C., office. 

Hortonworks Goes Through Multiple Senior Executive Changes

Raj Verma, 46, stepped down as president and COO of big data software company Hortonworks. CFO since 2014, Scott Davidson, 51, was appointed as the Company’s CFO & COO. Previously, Davidson was VP, finance at Dell. 

Alan Fudge, 56, will serve as the Company’s chief revenue officer. He served as COO and SVP of worldwide sales and field operations for software at Hewlett Packard Enterprise from 2014 to 2016. 

Corporate controller and principal accounting officer since 2016, Scott Reasoner, 45, was appointed as chief accounting officer, corporate controller and principal accounting officer.

Pegasus Solutions Appoints Phil Steitz as CTO to Lead Software Development and Technology Strategy

Pegasus Solutions appointed Phil Steitz as CTO. Steitz will lead software development and technology strategy at Pegasus, bringing the company expertise in building first-class technology and high-performing development teams. Steitz brings more than 20 years of proven technology and product leadership experience. As the Global CTO of American Express, Steitz modernized the company's legacy technology to enhance its highly scalable and reliable transaction processing systems while also creating new customer loyalty and corporate travel solutions.

Marketing Automation Software Company Appoints Group VP of Strategy and GM, Engagement Apps

Marketo announced that Tawheed (TK) Kader has been appointed as group VP of strategy and general manager of engagement applications. Marketo acquired Kader's company, ToutApp in April 2017. Kader founded ToutApp six years ago and served as its CEO. Prior to founding ToutApp, Kader spent three years as an enterprise technologist at hedge fund Bridgewater Associates. 

Imperva Witnesses Tech Exec Changes

Cyber security leader Imperva announced that its chief product strategist, Terry Ray, was named CTO. Imperva also announced that its co-founder and former CTO, Amichai Shulman, 47, was elevated to Chief Scientist to align with his research background. 

During his 14 years at Imperva, Ray has focused his efforts on data security and risk, working with hundreds of companies across an array of industries to help them discover and protect sensitive data, create controls to minimize risk for regulatory governance, set data security strategy and implement best practices. 

In his new role, Shulman will be instrumental in monitoring emerging technologies and companies especially as they relate to machine learning and data and application security. Previously, he served in the Israel Defense Forces, where he led a team that identified new computer attack and defense techniques.

Insurity Announces New Chair and New CEO

Insurity, which sells core processing software and data integration products for insurance carriers, named Jeffrey Glazer as Executive Chairman and Chris Giglio as CEO. 

Serving as CEO since 2011, Glazer has led the company through a sustained period of tremendous growth and success. Glazer founded Insurity in 1971.

Giglio has over 25 years of experience driving transformative growth, both organically and inorganically, at software companies. He was most recently CEO of Aderant. Prior to Aderant, he spent over two decades in leadership roles overseeing strategy, operations, sales, marketing and technology development. 

JDA Software Group Makes Executive Appointments to Power Next Generation of Solutions

JDA Software Group announced the addition of several dynamic leaders to its executive team to develop advanced solutions to deliver a digital supply chain and maximum value for its leading customers. 

Desikan Madhavanur has been named to the new position of Chief Development Officer. Madhavanur will be responsible for the company’s product solution strategy, development and delivery, with a charter to invest in and develop its market-leading solutions while harnessing the collective power of cloud, Internet of Things (IoT), analytics and big data to bring next generation SaaS solutions to market. Madhavanur joins the company from CA Technologies, where he served as SVP and business center head for Data Center Orchestration. Prior to CA, he served at E2Open, JP Morgan and i2 Technologies (later acquired by JDA).

Duane Kotsen, 53, has been appointed SVP, Global Consulting and Education Services Kotsen joins the company from Deltek, where he was SVP of Global Consulting Services. Previously he was Deltek’s SVP of America Services and SVP of Global Consulting Services. Kotsen was also SVP of Global Services at QAD and at PeopleSoft, and had positions at Extrarpise Group and Oracle.

Sharon Mills has been promoted to chief customer officer. Mills assumes the role formerly held by Todd Johnson, who has been promoted to a senior leadership role in the company’s product organization. Prior to being appointed CCO, Mills worked as group VP, Professional Services at the company.

Agilysys Appoints Interim CFO for Permanent CFO Role

Hospitality software & solutions firm Agilysys appointed Interim CFO Tony Pritchett as CFO. Prior to assuming the role of Interim CFO, he served as the Company's Senior Director of Operations. He joined Agilysys in 2012 as Controller of the Company's Retail Solutions Group, and subsequent to the divestiture of the Retail Solutions Group served as the Company's Corporate Controller.  Prior to joining Agilysys, he served in various senior roles, including as director of financial reporting at PGI and in Grant Thornton's assurance practice.

Infusionsoft Appoints Chief Revenue Officer from magicJack VocalTec

Infusionsoft hired Keith Reed as the chief revenue officer. Reed oversees Infusionsoft’s entire sales and marketing organization and is focused on further accelerating the company’s growth in the small business market. Reed joins Infusionsoft from magicJack VocalTec, a provider of 'Voice over IP' cloud-based communications offerings, where he was GM and SVP of the Business division. Prior to that, Reed spent 15 years at Intuit in various leadership roles, but most recently as the VP of sales and marketing for the Americas region.

Douglas F. Garn Retires from Board of Directors of Alteryx

Self-service data analytics firm Alteryx announced the retirement of Douglas F. Garn, 59, as Board Member. Garn formerly served as the CEO and President of BakBone Software. His previous roles include – EVP of Worldwide Sales at SO2, Partner of Toba Capital, CEO of Dell Software, and President of Dell Software.

Dora Vell

Dora Vell is the Managing Partner of Vell Executive Search, a boutique executive search firm in Boston focused on recruiting technology executives and board members. Vell has successfully completed numerous board member and C-level executive searches, including CEOs, COOs, CIOs, and Vice Presidents - at both public and private companies.
