Salesforce Appoints Chief Communications Officer from Starbucks 

Salesforce announced that Corey duBrowa will join the company as EVP and Chief Communications Officer. Most recently duBrowa served as SVP, Global Communications for Starbucks. During his seven-year tenure, he led the development and execution of global communications strategies to enhance and protect the Starbucks brand and corporate reputation as it grew from forty countries to seventy-five.

Seagate's President, Cloud Systems and Silicon Group to Leave

Seagate Technology announced that Philip G. Brace, President, Cloud Systems and Silicon Group, will leave the company. Brace will remain with the company for an interim period in order to assist with the transition of his responsibilities.

Arista Networks Adds Former Citrix CEO to Board

Software driven cloud networking firm, Arista Networks, appointed Mark Templeton, 63, as a director. Templeton was President and CEO of Citrix Systems from 2001 to 2015. Before that, he have had more than a decade's experience in management positions of UB Networks, Keyfile Corporation and LANSystems.

Cloudera Announces Board Changes

Cloudera, the company that delivers the modern platform for machine learning and advanced analytics built on the latest open source technologies, appointed Kim Hammonds, 49, Member of the Management Board and Group COO at Deutsche Bank, and Mike Stankey, Vice Chairman of Workday to the Cloudera board of directors.

RingCentral Appoints New Leader for Professional Services

Cloud-based phone systems company RingCentral appointed Derrell James as SVP of professional services. James brings more than 30 years of services experience at major technology companies and has held many senior leadership positions at various companies including Perot Systems, EMC, ACS, and most recently Avaya. At Avaya, James served as SVP of global strategic services, where he was responsible for a nearly $2 billion line of business.

2U Creates Chief Communications and Engagement Officer Role

2U, the provider of cloud-based SaaS platform for educational technology, announced that David Sutphen will join the company as its first Chief Communications and Engagement Officer. Sutphen joins 2U from Brunswick Group where he was a partner and head of the Washington, D.C., office. During his more than eight years at Brunswick, Sutphen advised Fortune 500 and emerging companies on strategic communications, reputation, stakeholder engagement, crisis, diversity, regulatory and public affairs matters with a particular focus on the media, technology and education sectors.

Endurance International Group Announces Executive Changes

Web hosting company Endurance International Group announced that Marc Montagner has been appointed Interim COO in addition to his current position as CFO. Montagner has served as Endurance’s CFO since September 2015 and will continue to report to Hari Ravichandran, the company’s Founder and CEO until the CEO transition plan is completed. 

As previously announced, Endurance is actively conducting a search to identify CEO Ravichandran’s successor. 

Endurance also appointed Allen M. Chaves Jr. as the company’s new CTO. Chaves brings 28 years of technology strategy and software architecture experience with him to Endurance, where he will spearhead the vision and strategic direction for all of the company’s software offerings. "

Carbonite Appoints Former NetApp CIO and Current VC to Board

Carbonite, cloud and hybrid backup service provider announced the election of Marina Levinson, 57, with more than 25 years of corporate leadership experience, as new member of its Board of Directors. Levinson will hold office until 2020, succeeding Jeff Flowers, who co-founded Carbonite in 2005 and retired from the Board after 12 years of service. After serving as the CIO of NetApp and Palm, Levinson founded and is the CEO of CIO Advisory Group.

Shoretel Announces New Chairman

ShoreTel, the provider of cloud hosted communication solutions, announced that Shane Robison, 62, has been appointed as Chairperson of the Board. Chuck Kissner, 69, is stepping down as Chairperson but will remain on the board. Robison serves as a Strategic Advisor of EPIC Ventures. Earlier, he served as the Chairman and CEO at Fusion-io, and Chief Strategy & Technology Officer and EVP at Hewlett-Packard Company.

Kissner is former CEO of Aviat Networks, DMC and Aristacom International.

Redcentric Appoints Former Phoenix IT CEO as Non-Executive Director

The Board of Redcentric plc, an UK based managed service provider offering a range of on-premise, managed & cloud services, named Steve Vaughan, 56, as Non-Executive Director. Until 2015, he was CEO of Phoenix IT plc, and has previously been CEO at Communisis plc and Synstar plc.

Dora Vell

Dora Vell is the Managing Partner of Vell Executive Search, a boutique executive search firm in Boston focused on recruiting technology executives and board members. Vell has successfully completed numerous board member and C-level executive searches, including CEOs, COOs, CIOs, and Vice Presidents - at both public and private companies.

Prior to founding the firm in 2005, Vell was a Partner at Heidrick & Struggles' Technology practice for seven years.  Before her career in executive search, she worked at IBM for 11 years, managing software engineering organizations of 100 people and software sales organizations with revenues of $150 million. She has also served as an executive assistant to the CEO of IBM Canada for one year.

Vell holds seven worldwide software patents. She has received an MBA from the University of Toronto, a Master in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, and a Bachelor in Computer Science from Carleton. She has also completed the MIT Entrepreneurial Master’s program.
