IBM Appoints New Chief Digital Officer for India & South Asia

IBM has appointed Nipun Mehrotra as chief digital officer for India & South Asia, and the appointment comes with months of Bob Lord, IBM's first ever chief digital officer, being charged with bringing together the digital business group (DBG). Over the past two years, as the VP for strategy growth initiatives, Mehrotra led IBM's transformational strategy across several areas in Asia & India.

Greg Peters to Become Netflix Chief Product Officer

Netflix announced that Greg Peters will become Chief Product Officer, assuming the role from Neil Hunt, who for the last eighteen years has led the product team which designs, builds, and delivers the Netflix experience. Peters most recently has led international development efforts from the Netflix office in Tokyo since 2015. In his nine years at Netflix, Peters has held positions overseeing product engineering and business development and in his role leading Netflix Japan, marketing and content licensing and creation. 

Separately, Netflix also announced that Chief Talent Officer Tawni Cranz, who joined the company in 2007, would leave the company and pursue other interests.

eBay Founder Pierre Omidyar Not to Stand for Re-Election to PayPal Board     

Pierre Omidyar informed PayPal that he will not stand for re-election to PayPal’s Board of Directors when his current term expires. He is the founder of the eBay where he served as chairman from 1998 to 2015.

eBay Appoints Former Hewlett Packard Enterprise Exec as General Manager for Hong Kong, Taiwan

eBay has appointed Jenny Hui as its general manager for Hong Kong and Taiwan. In her new role, Hui will be responsible for managing eBay's cross-border trade in marketplace, as well as growing the gross merchandise volume and revenue for the Hong Kong and Taiwan business. Prior to this appointment, Hui worked for eBay as its senior manager, seller management. She has also worked with Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Yahoo! and Microsoft.

NetEase Looking for New CFO

Chinese majority gaming outfit NetEase announced that Onward Choi has resigned from his position as Acting CFO due to personal reasons. The Company will retain Choi as a consultant over the coming year to support a smooth transition to his successor.

Paychex Director Pamela A. Joseph Resigns

Pamela A. Joseph, 57, notified Paychex of her resignation from the Company's Board of Directors. Joseph has been a member of the Board since 2005. Joseph has been the President and COO of Total System Services since May 2016. 13,048.7

Biz Stone Returns to Twitter After 6-Year Absence; Director to Step Down

Biz Stone, one of Twitter's four co-founders, announced that he's returning to the company after a 6-year absence. Stone had worked on other projects, including founding Jelly, "a human-powered search and discovery engine," which was acquired by Pinterest.

Twitter announced that Peter Fenton, whose term expires at the upcoming annual meeting of stockholders, will not stand for re-election at the mutual agreement of the Board and Fenton.

Rightmove Appoints easyJet’s CFO as Non-Executive Director; Witnesses CEO Shuffle

UK's largest online real estate portal and property website Rightmove plc has appointed Andrew Findlay as a non-executive director. Andrew Findlay is the CFO of easyJet plc. Prior to easyJet, Andrew was CFO of Halfords plc, and held senior finance roles at Marks and Spencer, the London Stock Exchange and Cable and Wireless.

Nick McKittrick has stepped down from the Board as CEO and will retire from the company. Nick will be available to support the new CEO, Peter Brooks-Johnson, until his leaving date to ensure a smooth transition.

Just Eat Appoints Hays CEO as Independent Director

Just Eat plc announced the appointment of Alistair Cox as an independent non-executive director. Alistair is CEO of recruitment specialist Hays plc and has significant executive and non-executive experience with UK-listed companies. He has previously served as a non-executive director of 3i Group and as CEO of Xansa plc, the technology and outsourcing group.

Auto Trader Group Appoints Nathan Coe as COO and Executive Director

Auto Trader Group appointed Nathan Coe as COO and Executive Director of the company. Nathan joined Auto Trader in 2007 to oversee the transition from a magazine business to being a pure digital company. Prior to joining Auto Trader, Nathan was at Telstra, where he led Mergers and Acquisitions and Corporate Development for its media and internet businesses.

Criteo Hires EVP, Americas to Lead Sales

Digital advertising company Criteo S.A. announced that Greg Archibald has joined the company as EVP, Americas. Archibald joins Criteo after four years serving as Chief Revenue Officer for NinthDecimal. Before that, he held senior-level strategic revenue positions at Datalogix, Yahoo and Intuit. Prior to his career in business, he served for nine years as a pilot in the U.S. Navy. 

Amaya Goes Through Board and Senior Leadership Changes

Amaya nominated two new directors, Peter Murphy and Mary Turner. Murphy is the Founder and Chairman of Wentworth Capital Management. Turner served as President and CEO and board member of Canadian Tire Bank, a subsidiary of Canadian Tire Corporation. 

Amaya appointed Brian Kyle as CFO of the company. Kyle joins the company from Pivot Technology Solutions where he was CFO. Prior to joining Pivot in August 2016, Kyle was a partner and co-founder of ALSA Capital from August 2014 to August 2016. 

Kyle will succeed Daniel Sebag, who has served as company’s CFO since 2007.

Amaya appointed Robin Chhabra as Chief Corporate Development Officer. Chhabra is an experienced online gaming executive, most recently serving as Group Director of Strategy and Corporate Development for William Hill since May 2010, and as Director of Corporate Development for Inspired Gaming Group (later merged with Inspired Entertainment).

Jerry Ulrich to Retire as CFO and Chief Administrative Officer of Blackhawk Network

Jerry Ulrich has informed Blackhawk Network Holdings of his intent to retire from his position as CFO and Chief Administrative Officer of the company. Ulrich will release claims against the company and agrees to continue to serve as CFO of the company through September 2017 or up to thirty days after the date of hire of his successor.

Cardtronics Announces Several Senior Management Changes

Cardtronics plc, the world's largest non-bank ATM operator, appointed Aimie Killeen as the company’s general counsel and secretary, succeeding Roger Craig. Killeen joined the company in January 2017 in connection with the company’s acquisition of DirectCash Payments. 

The company also appointed Sharon Bridgland-Gough as the company’s CHRO. Bridgland-Gough joined the company in 2014 and has led the company’s European HR operations since that time. 

Jonathan Simpson-Dent, Chief Commercial Officer of Cardtronics gave notice of his intention to terminate his employment with the company.

Gerardo Garcia, chief information security officer of the company, gave notice of his intention to retire from the company later this year.

Verifone Names Cisco’s IoT and Applications SVP to Board

Verifone appointed Rowan Trollope, SVP and general manager of IoT and Applications for Cisco Systems, to its board of directors. Trollope is a 26-year veteran of the enterprise software industry. He joined Cisco in 2012 to lead the re-invention of its collaboration business, and is currently responsible for delivering the company’s internet of things (IoT) technology solutions across multiple market segments. Prior to Cisco, he spent more than 20 years at Symantec, most recently serving as group president overseeing Sales, Marketing and Product Development. 

Q2 Holdings Appoints Spredfast CFO as Board Member

Q2 Holdings added Lynn Atchison, CFO of Spredfast, to its board of directors. Atchison joined Spredfast in February 2017. Prior to Spredfast, Atchison served as the CFO of HomeAway shortly after it was acquired by Expedia. Atchison serves on the Austin Technology Council board of directors.

TrueCar Appoints Former Honda and Ford Motor Vet as Board Member

Automotive pricing and information website Truecar announced that John Mendel has been nominated for election to its board. He would fill the vacancy created by the departure of director Abhishek Agrawal, who is not standing for re-election. Mendel recently retired from American Honda Motor Company, where he was the EVP, Automobile Division. Prior to that, he spent 28 years with Ford Motor and served as EVP and COO for Mazda North American Operations.

Etsy Announces CEO, Chair and Other Senior Management Changes

Etsy has appointed Josh Silverman, a director on the Board since November 2016, as CEO. Josh succeeds Chad Dickerson, who will step down as CEO and Chair of the Board of Directors. Josh previously served as President of Consumer Products and Services at American Express. Before American Express, Josh was CEO of Skype, CEO of, an eBay company, and held various executive roles at eBay. He was also a co-founder and CEO of Evite and he currently serves on the board of directors of Shake Shack. 

Fred Wilson, who joined the Etsy Board in June 2007 and has served as lead independent director since October 2014, will succeed Chad as Chair of the Board. 

Etsy appointed Rachel Glaser as CFO. She joins from Leaf Group, where as CFO she helped scale their global marketplace and consumer media businesses. Rachel succeeds Kristina Salen. 

Karen Mullane, Etsy's VP, Corporate Controller, will serve as interim CFO until Rachel officially starts.

Blucora Board Members to Step Down

Andrew M. Snyder, who has served as a director of Blucora, the digital finance company, since 2011, informed that he does not plan to stand for re-election to the board. In addition, Steven W. Hooper, who has served as a director of the Company since 2011, plans to retire from the Board.

Dora Vell

Dora Vell is the Managing Partner of Vell Executive Search, a boutique executive search firm in Boston focused on recruiting technology executives and board members. Vell has successfully completed numerous board member and C-level executive searches, including CEOs, COOs, CIOs, and Vice Presidents - at both public and private companies.

Vell is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), the Boston CEO Roundtable. She has served on the boards of Framingham State, Entrepreneur's Organization, Goodwill, Mary Centre for developmentally handicapped adults,, and RBC Capital Partners.

She has received an MBA from the University of Toronto, a Master in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, and a Bachelor in Computer Science from Carleton. She has also completed the MIT Entrepreneurial Master’s program.
