The Priceline Group Announces CEO Changes

The Priceline Group reported that Glenn Fogel, the company's current Head of Strategy and Executive Vice President of Corporate Development, has been named CEO of the company. Current Interim CEO and non-Executive Chairman of the Board Jeff Boyd, who served as the company's CEO from 2002-2013, Chairman of the Board since 2013 and Interim CEO since April of 2016, will assume the role of Executive Chairman. 

Prior to joining The Priceline Group, Fogel worked in investment banking and asset management at various firms, including Morgan Stanley. The Corporate Development team that previously reported to Fogel will now report to the company's Chief Financial Officer, Dan Finnegan.

Baidu Appoints Microsoft Exec as Group President and COO

Baidu appointed Dr. Qi Lu as Baidu's Group President and Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining Baidu, Dr. Lu served as Microsoft's Global Executive Vice President and led one of Microsoft's three business units. In 2013, Dr. Lu was appointed as Microsoft's Global Executive Vice President and was put in charge of its Office business.

PayPal Appoints Recognized Attorney and Airbnb Business Leader to its Board      

PayPal appointed Belinda Johnson to its board of directors. Johnson is a recognized attorney and business leader who has focused her talents on crafting and directing policies and strategies that enable high-growth, consumer-facing internet companies for more than two decades. Johnson is the Chief Business Affairs and Legal Officer at Airbnb.

Yahoo CEO and Five Other Directors to Step Down from Board on Completion of Acquisition by Verizon

Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer will step down from the board on completion of its $4.8 billion acquisition by Verizon. Mayer will leave the board alongside its cofounder David Filo and board members Eddy Hartenstein, Richard Hill, Jane Shaw, and Maynard Webb. Eric Brandt will become board chairman once the sale of its core business is completed. The company added that the remaining units of the business will operate as an investment company under the name Altaba. Under the chairmanship of Brandt, Tor Braham, Catherine Friedman, Thomas McInerney, and Jeffrey Smith will all remain on the board.

Twitter Sees Sequence of Leadership Developments 

Twitter's VP of product, Josh McFarland is leaving the company to pursue other opportunities. McFarland was leaving to join Greylock Partners.

Twitter's Chief Technology Officer Adam Messinger decided to leave the company and take some time off.

Twitter has appointed a new managing director, with Sinéad McSweeney taking up the role in Ireland. McSweeney is the current VP of public policy and communications for the EMEA region. Outgoing managing director Mark Little was stepping down, less than six months after he took up the role.

Total System Services Sees Several Exec Changes    

Payments firm Total System Services announced that it has found a successor to run the business unit it now calls Merchant Solutions after the sudden resignation of its Merchant Services top executive. Barclaycard executive Philip McHugh will take the helm of the merchant specialty segment operated by TSYS. His title will be senior EVP and president of Merchant Solutions. 

Gaylon Jowers, current Senior EVP and President of International, will assume the role of President, Issuer Solutions. Kelley Knutson, Executive Vice President, International, will assume the role of President, International and Allen Pettis, Executive Vice President, North America, has been promoted to President, North America.

Broadridge Financial Solutions Appoints Chief Commercial Diversity Officer 

Broadridge Financial Solutions appointed Frieda Lewis to Managing Director, Chief Commercial Diversity Officer. Lewis joined Broadridge in 2008, serving as Managing Director, Global Relationship Management. In addition to her responsibilities in Relationship Management, Lewis has demonstrated a long-term commitment to Broadridge's diversity and inclusion initiatives. Prior to joining Broadridge, Lewis spent 25 years in the financial services industry, holding senior executive positions at Sun Life Financial and Mellon Financial.

Sabre Corporation Reveals Several Executive Changes

Travel technology company Sabre appointed Sean Menke as president, CEO and a member of Sabre's board. Menke will succeed Tom Klein, who has served as president, CEO and board member since 2013. In addition, the board named Larry Kellner, currently the non-executive chairman of the board, as executive chairman. Kellner joined Sabre as non-executive chairman of the board of directors in August 2013.

Menke joined Sabre in October 2015 and currently serves as executive vice president of Sabre and president of Sabre Travel Network. Prior to Sabre, Menke served as CEO of Frontier Airlines and held senior executive positions at Hawaiian Airlines and Air Canada, among other carriers. 

Sabre's board has designated Karl Peterson as lead independent director.

Sabre Corporation appointed two executives for strategic roles in its hospitality business. Brian Jorgenson will serve as senior vice president of product management and Frank Trampert will lead Sabre's hospitality business in Asia Pacific. Jorgenson comes to Sabre from Fiserv, where he held multiple senior leadership positions across product management, development, and service delivery.

As the Managing Director and Chief Commercial Officer - APAC, Trampert will lead Sabre's hospitality business in Asia Pacific. He has deep experience in both hospitality operations and technology in Asia Pacific including leadership positions with Wyndham Hotel Group in Hong Kong, Carlson Hotels across four continents, Brand Karma in Singapore, and most recently as the CEO for Tune Hotel Group in Malaysia.

Deborah Kerr, Executive Vice President and Chief Product and Technology Officer, mutually agreed that Kerr’s employment will terminate following the expiration of her employment agreement.

Worldpay Group Appoints New COO

Payment processing company Worldpay Group announced that Ruth Prior, currently Deputy Chief Financial Officer at Worldpay, will become Chief Operating Officer. Dave Hobday, Managing Director, Worldpay UK has resigned from Worldpay to take up a position as Chief Executive of a private equity owned business. Company has finalized the appointment of his successor, who has significant board level experience at a UK plc, and a strong track record in business transformation and financial services. Company expects to be able to announce this appointment and for him to join Worldpay in the New Year. Dave will leave Worldpay following a handover period.

David Cooper Joins WEX as CTO    

WEX announced that David Cooper has joined the company in the newly created role of CTO. The role was created to lead all aspects of corporate technology. In this position, Cooper will spearhead corporate IT and platform strategy, enterprise architecture, program management, information security, and IT infrastructure operations. Prior to joining WEX, Cooper held several senior technology positions, including head of global operations at GlobeOne, SVP of technology at Green Dot, and CTO and SVP of product development at both Fiserv and CashEdge.

Moneysupermarket.com Announces CEO Succession Plan  

Moneysupermarket.com Group, the British price comparison website-based business specialising in financial services, announced further to the CEO succession announcement, the company confirmed that Mark Lewis will be appointed an executive director of the company and following a handover will become CEO in April 2017. Peter Plumb will step down as an executive director at the company's annual general meeting.

Shutterfly Announces Board Appointments 

Shutterfly elected two new independent directors, Elizabeth (Libby) Sartain and H. Tayloe Stansbury, to its board of directors. Sartain is an executive and advisor with more than 30 years of experience as a senior human resources leader. Her diverse industry exposure includes technology, media, consumer products, professional services, and manufacturing. Sartain is currently the vice chairman of the board of AARP and holds board seats at Manpower Group and the SHRM Foundation. Sartain has served as chief people officer at Yahoo.

Stansbury is a tech leader with more than 30 years of experience building scalable technology platforms and organizations across a number of leading companies. Since 2009, Tayloe Stansbury has worked at Intuit, where he is EVP and CTO. He previously served as CIO at VMware; as EVP of products and operations at Ariba; in leadership roles at Calico Commerce, Xerox, and Borland International; and in engineering and research roles at Sun Microsystems and Xerox PARC.

carsales.com Announces CEO Changes

Carsales.com Limited announced that Greg Roebuck, the company's managing director and CEO since 2002, will retire from his position and the board has appointed Cameron McIntyre, 46, currently carsales' COO as the next CEO and MD. McIntyre commenced at carsales in 2007 as the chief financial officer & company secretary. He also played a key role in the IPO of the company in 2009. In 2014 Cameron became the chief operating officer of the company which expanded his responsibilities to include the oversight of carsales editorial, marketing, RedBook and data services.

WebMD Appoints Managing Partner of Aberdeen Enterprises Ian G. Banwell as Director  

WebMD has appointed Ian G. Banwell to WebMD's Board.  Banwell was appointed to fill a vacancy created when Jerome C. Keller resigned from the. Banwell is currently Managing Partner of Aberdeen Enterprises.

Shutterstock Directors Leaves; Appoints CTO from Sterling Talent Solutions 

Jeffrey Lieberman, a director of Shutterstock notified the company that he would resign from the company's Board of Directors. Lieberman is a Managing Director of the private equity and venture capital firm Insight Venture Partners, or Insight, where he has been employed since June 1998.

Shutterstock announced that Marty Brodbeck has joined the company as CTO. Brodbeck most recently served as CTO at Sterling Talent Solutions. In this role, Brodbeck oversees the product engineering team as it develops and implements products that deliver leading edge solutions for customers.

Travelport Announces Board Changes           

Travel commerce platform Travelport appointed John Smith to its Board of Directors. Until recently, Smith was COO of the Burberry Group. He remains a member of Burberry's Board. Prior to Burberry, Smith spent 23 years at the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC). Joining in 1989, he held a variety of positions including Chief Operating Officer, Director of Finance, Property & Business Affairs and Finance Director. Smith will replace Mr. Gavin Baiera from Angelo, Gordon & Co. who retires from the Board, having served as a member since 2011.

TrueCar Promotes David Green to Senior Vice President of Major Accounts  

Automotive pricing and information website TrueCar announced the promotion of David Green to senior vice president of major accounts within the company’s Dealer Sales and Service team. Green joined TrueCar in 2015 and is currently responsible for the support and account development of the dealer groups within the TrueCar Certified Dealer Network.. Most recently, Green served as the Managing Partner of Showcase Honda in Phoenix, Arizona.
