AOL Names New Ad Practice Head & Huffington Post Editor

AOL Advertising announced that Scott Kelliher was named Industry Practice Head for the Technology category. Kelliher joined AOL in 2008 and will continue as Telecom and Technology Sales Director. Prior to AOL, Kelliher was Director, Mobile Media Services for Virgin Mobile.

AOL Huffington Post Media Group announced that Lori Leibovich, noted lifestyle editor and writer, has been named Women's Editor. Leibovich began her career at in 1996 and went on to work as an editor at Talk, Cookie, Teen People, Babble, and Whole Living. Also, she founded the website and has written extensively for publications including The New York Times, The Washington Post, Harper's Bazaar, Glamour, Elle, Real Simple, and Slate.

Clearwire Gets New Board Member

Wireless internet service provider Clearwire announced the appointment of Bruce Chatterley, 48, to be a Director on its Board. Previously, Chatterley served as President of Business Markets at Megapath, a nationwide local exchange carrier. Prior to Megapath, he was the President, CEO, & Director of speakeasy, a subsidiary of Best Buy, and VP of Best Buy. Additionally, Chatterly has served as CEO of ViAir, a developer of wireless mobile messaging software, and President of Small and Mid Markets for Concur Technologies, a developer of travel and expense management services. Before starting his career at Concur, Chatterley held variety of executive and management positions for Ameritech, US West, GE, and IBM.  

New Management Team at

Rob Luskey, formerly's Senior Director of BD, is named as the company's new VP of BD. Prior to, Luskey served as Director of Internet Strategy for United Yellow Pages. Before joining, Luskey served as Director of BD for Go2 Systems, a leading mobile local directory company. Luskey has also owned and operated his own local media publishing company, which catered to small business advertisers.

Steven Dong, 44, joins the company as VP of Finance. He most recently served as CFO for DigitalPost Interactive, an online digital media company, and as CFO for Taitron Components, a publicly-held semiconductor company.  Prior to DigitalPost Interactive, Dong owned his own professional services firm and worked for the accounting firm Coopers & Lybrand.

Mark Wallin joins as the new VP of Product Development. Wallin comes from Sanger Ventures, a company that specialized in product strategy and development consulting services for high growth companies. Prior to Sanger Ventures, Wallin was VP of Engineering for Jacent Technologies and President & CTO for Synapta. Additionally, Wallin has held various product and technology leadership positions with IBM Global Services.

Search Navigation Company Appoints New VP
LookSmart announced the appointment of Benoit Vatere as VP of its Distribution Network. Most recently, Vatere served as VP of Client Success and Co-founder of magnify360, a metrics-driven web design company that specializes in pay-per-click and display based traffic acquisition. Prior to that, he was the Director of Marketing at computer software firm Qpuncture.

New CFO at Online News Provider

Alternet Systems announced the appointment of Michael Viadero as CFO. In his more than 25 years of experience, he has managed multi-functional organizations, regional departments, and operations for MasterCard International, W.R. Grace and First Chicago. Viadero comes to Alternet from MasterCard where he served as Regional Financial Officer. In his new position, Viadero will oversee the financial operations and regulatory compliance of Alternet and its subsidiaries, Utiba Americas and International Mobile Security.

Dora Vell

Dora Vell is the Managing Partner of Vell Executive Search, a boutique executive search firm in Boston focused on recruiting technology executives and board members. Vell has successfully completed numerous board member and C-level executive searches, including CEOs, COOs, CIOs, and Vice Presidents - at both public and private companies.

Prior to founding the firm in 2005, Vell was a Partner at Heidrick & Struggles' Technology practice for seven years.  Before her career in executive search, she worked at IBM for 11 years, managing software engineering organizations of 100 people and software sales organizations with revenues of $150 million. She has also served as an executive assistant to the CEO of IBM Canada for one year.

Vell holds seven worldwide software patents. She has published several Business of Leadership reports on governance and leadership and has been quoted in numerous articles including The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Business Week, Fortune, Agenda Week, MSNBC, Mass High Tech, the OPUS for the World Economic Forum, Boston Business Journal, The Globe & Mail, CIO Magazine, and IEEE. She also has been a featured speaker on leadership at numerous conferences and at Columbia University's MBA program.

Vell is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), the Boston CEO Roundtable. She has served on the boards of Framingham State, Entrepreneur's Organization, Goodwill, Mary Centre for developmentally handicapped adults,, and RBC Capital Partners.

She has received an MBA from the University of Toronto, a Master in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, and a Bachelor in Computer Science from Carleton. She has also completed the MIT Entrepreneurial Master’s program.
