Alphabet Names Board Veteran as Chairman to Succeed Schmidt. Alphabet appointed John L. Hennessy, 65, former President of Stanford University, to serve as Executive Chair of Alphabet’s Board. Hennessy has served on the Board since April 2004 and Lead Independent Director since April 2007. Eric Schmidt, 62, becomes technical advisor to the company while continuing to serve on its board. Alphabet said that Canadian-born Shirley M. Tilghman, 71, 19th President of Princeton University, also retired from the board effective Feb. 15, 2018.

Rajaraman spent 8 years at YouTube, working to secure licensed content from companies like Disney for streaming. After his tenure at YouTube, Rajaraman spent two years at Spotify working on its video and podcasting efforts, licensing content from Time Warner, Disney and NBC.

Broadcom Announces Board Changes
American fabless semiconductor company Broadcom appointed Check Kian Low as an independent director of the company and as the company's required Singapore resident director. Low will replace Lucien Y.K. Wong as a director on the Board, whose previously announced resignation from the Board. Low, 57, was one of the founding partners and a director of NewSmith Capital Partners.
Facebook CAO Decides to Resign; Company Appoints Former NBCUniversal Information Chief
