Broadcom Announces Board Changes
American fabless semiconductor company Broadcom appointed Check Kian Low as an independent director of the company and as the company's required Singapore resident director. Low will replace Lucien Y.K. Wong as a director on the Board, whose previously announced resignation from the Board. Low, 57, was one of the founding partners and a director of NewSmith Capital Partners.
Oracle Appoints Former Intel President Renée J. James as Newest Board Member
Renée J. James, 51, joined the board of directors of Oracle. James was previously the President of Intel. James has a 25 plus year career at Intel. Prior to becoming President, she served as EVP and General Manager of Software & Services Group. James joined Intel in 1987 as the Product Manager and progressed through variety of roles with increasing responsibilities.
Target Appoints New CIO Mike McNamara from Tesco
Target named Tesco veteran Mike McNamara to the role of EVP and CIO. As the company’s top technology leader, McNamara will further advance Target’s digital transformation. McNamara replaces Bob DeRodes, who is retiring after playing a pivotal role in guiding the chain’s information security efforts. DeRodes, is a 40-year IT veteran who joined Target last spring with a focus on enhancing data security and technology infrastructure. DeRodes will serve for a short time in a senior advisory role to Target.
Nokia Board to Go Through More Changes
Nokia has elected Mary Elizabeth “Liz” Doherty, 54, currently CFO of Reckitt Benckiser, to its Board. Prior, she has served as Group CFO at Brambles, Group International Finance Director at Tesco, SVP Finance CE&E at Unilever, Commercial (Finance) Director at Unilever Thailand, Commercial Director - Frudesa (Spain) at Unilever, Commercial Director - Frigo (Spain) at Unilever, Supply Chain Mgr - Mattesson Walls at Unilever, and Auditor at Unilever.
