GE Announces Digital Executive Appointments       

Patrick Franklin has joined GE as VP & GM, Applications, GE Digital. Prior to joining GE, he was a VP of Engineering at Google. Over his twenty-five year career, Patrick has held leadership positions at Amazon, Microsoft, Intel and the United States Navy.

Siemens Announces CIO Changes 

Siemens appointed Helmuth Ludwig as new CIO, thus assuming responsibility for global IT at the company. He succeeds Norbert Kleinjohann, 62, who is retiring. Ludwig was previously Chief Digital Officer of the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Business Unit at Siemens' Digital Factory Division. 

Google Appoints Former Airbnb Executive for Self-Driving Car Project

Google announced that Shaun Stewart, a former Airbnb executive, has been appointed as the new director of its self-driving car project. Stewart will help the company in commercializing Google's self-driving technology, which has been in development for more than seven years, reported Reuters. The hiring follows the departure of Chris Urmson, who served as chief technical officer of the self-driving car project. 

Pfizer Appoints Adobe CEO to Board

Pfizer elected Shantanu Narayen, 50, to serve as a member of the Board. Narayen is president and CEO of Adobe. Prior to his appointment as CEO in 2007, Narayen was Adobe’s president and COO. Previously, he held key product research and development positions within Adobe, including EVP of worldwide products, SVP of worldwide product development, and VP and general manager of the engineering technology group. Before joining Adobe in 1998, he was a co-founder of Pictra, an early pioneer of digital photo sharing over the Internet. Prior to that, he served as director of desktop and collaboration products at Silicon Graphics, and held various senior management positions at Apple Computer.

 

Apple Hires Xerox's CFO; VP-Retail Leaves

Apple has hired Xerox’s CFO Luca Maestri, 48, as its Corporate Controller. Prior to Xerox, he served as the CFO of Nokia Siemens Networks. Previously he was VP and CFO, General Motors Europe and General Motors Brazil. He has been a Director of Principal Financial Group since 2012.

F5 Networks Appoints Two Industry Vets to Board

F5 Networks named Sandra Bergeron, 54, and Steve Smith, 55, to its board of directors. Ms. Bergeron is an experienced technology industry executive with a national reputation as an expert on computer security matters. Mr. Smith is CEO, President, and member of the board of Equinix, the global interconnection and data center company.

Bell Canada Enterprises Names Former CPP Investment Board CEO as New Director

Bell Canada Enterprises appointed David F. Denison, 60, as a Director of BCE and Bell Canada. Mr. Denison has served as President and CEO of the Canada Pension Plan (CPP) Investment Board. Prior to his appointment to the CPP Investment Board, he was President of Fidelity Investments Canada. He serves as a Director at Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) and as a member of the World Bank Treasury Expert Advisory Committee. He is a director of The United Way of Greater Toronto, and a member of the Toronto Community Foundation Investment Committee and the University of Toronto Investment Advisory Committee.

Allscripts Hires CFO From Aviation Support Company

Allscripts named Richard J. Poulton, 47, as CFO. Poulton joins Allscripts from AAR Corporation, a provider of diverse products and services to the worldwide commercial aviation and government/defense industries, where he served as CFO and Treasurer. Prior to AAR, Poulton spent more than 10 years at UAL Corporation in a variety of financial and business development roles including SVP of business development as well as President and CFO of the company's client focused Loyalty Services subsidiary.
