Alphabet Names Board Veteran as Chairman to Succeed Schmidt. Alphabet appointed John L. Hennessy, 65, former President of Stanford University, to serve as Executive Chair of Alphabet’s Board. Hennessy has served on the Board since April 2004 and Lead Independent Director since April 2007. Eric Schmidt, 62, becomes technical advisor to the company while continuing to serve on its board. Alphabet said that Canadian-born Shirley M. Tilghman, 71, 19th President of Princeton University, also retired from the board effective Feb. 15, 2018.

eBay appoints Adriane Brown and Diana Farrell to its Board - Ms. Brown, 59, is former CEO, Honeywell Transportation Systems. Ms. Farrell, 59, is the Founding President and CEO at JPMorgan Chase Institute, a global think tank and former McKinsey.
Fidelity National Information Services Appoints Louise M. Parent, 67, as Director - A former EVP and general counsel of AmEx, Parent has more than 35 years of experience in the financial industry. Parent retired from American Express in 2013.
Square Announces Ai Expert Anna Patterson, 52, as Newest Board Member - Patterson is the Founder and Managing Partner at Gradient Ventures, google’s AI focused venture fund. Patterson is also VP of Engineering at Google and most recently helped to integrate AI into products across Google.
Apple Appoints New Chief Design Officer and Other Design Execs
Jony Ive, long-time SVP of Design at Apple, now has the title of Chief Design Officer at Apple. This will allow Ive to hand off day-to-day managerial duties and focus more on items like the design of Apple's retail stores and also aid in the ongoing construction of Apple's new corporate campus.

RBS's ex-boss in US, Ellen Alemany, Joins FIS’ Board
Fidelity National Information Services appoints Ellen Alemany, 58, to its board. A former head of RBS Americas, and Chair and CEO of RBS' Citizens Financial Group, Alemany has more than 35 years of experience in the financial industry. In 2007, Alemany joined as Head of RBS Americas, and Chair and CEO of RBS' Citizens Financial Group, and served as a consultant to the company until her retirement in 2013. Beginning as Area Head of Citibank's NY Leveraged Capital Group, she grew to CEO of Global Transaction Services at the firm and spent five years on the board of Citigroup North America. Alemany began her career in Operations at Chase Manhattan before being recruited to Citibank in 1987. She has served on the boards of ADP since 2011 and CIT Group since early 2014.
Microsoft Makes iCIO Jim DuBois Permanent CIO;
Consumer Apps & Services CMO, Bing Engineer and Skype CFO Leave
Microsoft appoints Jim DuBois as Corporate VP and CIO. DuBois, who had served as interim CIO for the past six months, will lead a team of employees overseeing Microsoft IT applications, infrastructure, solution delivery and process excellence. DuBois has been at Microsoft for more than 20 years, during which he has held several key leadership positions. Most recently, he was VP of Microsoft IT Products and Services. He has also served as general manager of IT at the company.
Microsoft Loses a Pair of Top Advertising Executives
Richard Dunmall, Microsoft Advertising’s VP of Global Agencies and Accounts, is departing. In the meantime, Microsoft veteran Keith Lorizio, the current VP of U.S. Sales and Marketing, will oversee the global agency team. Previously, Dunmall was the VP, Microsoft Advertising for Greater APAC and Americas. Before joining Microsoft, he was the SVP and MD, EMEA at aQuantive, an advertising network which was acquired by Microsoft. Prior to aQuantive, he served as the CEO of MindShare Interaction UK and mOne UK. Earlier in his career, he was a Sales Director for AdLINK Internet Media.
