BAE Systems Names Former Senator to its Board of Directors

BAE Systems announced that former U.S. Senator Kelly Ayotte, 49, has been appointed to its board of directors for a three-year term. From 2011 until January of this year, former Sen. Ayotte worked across party lines in Congress on numerous domestic and foreign policy issues. She served on several Senate committees, chairing the Armed Services Subcommittee on Readiness and Management Support and the Commerce, Science, and Transportation Subcommittee on Aviation Operations, Safety, and Security. Previously, from 2004 to 2009, she was the first female to serve as New Hampshire’s attorney general, appointed by both Republican and Democratic governors.

Vodafone CTO to Retire; Company Appoints Ericsson Exec as Successor

Vodafone’s CTO Steve Pusey intends to retire from Vodafone. Pusey joined Vodafone from Nortel in 2006 and was appointed to the Board in 2009. More recently, he has led the Group's organic investment programme, Project Spring, and has also played a leading role in developing the Group's convergence strategy including the acquisition of fixed-line businesses and the ongoing development of fibre networks in Ireland, Italy, Portugal and Spain. 

JP Morgan Exec on Philip Morris Board

Philip Morris International named Kalpana Morparia, 58, to its Board of Directors. Currently, Morparia serves as JP Morgan’s India CEO. She also sits on the board of Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, an integrated global pharma company, and CMC, a leading Indian systems engineering and integration company. Before joining JP Morgan, Morparia was MD of ICICI Bank, India’s second largest bank. She also served as Vice Chair of ICICI’s Insurance and Asset Management Business. She was named one of "The 50 Most Powerful Women in International Business" by Fortune Magazine in 2008.
