GE appoints Harel Kodesh, 56, as VP, CTO, GE Software. Kodesh joined GE from Nurego, where he served as CEO and founder. He served as an EVP at VMWare and President of Cloud Infrastructure Business and CEO of Digital Echo at EMC. He served as the CEO of Decho, CEO of Mozy, Chief Product Officer of Amdocs, President and CEO of Wingcast Corporation, a joint venture between the Ford Motor Company and Qualcomm, VP of the Productivity Appliance Division and VP of the Information Appliances Division at Microsoft.

Cisco to Go Through CFO Change Early Next Year 

Cisco’s EVP and CFO Frank Calderoni, 57, is stepping down from his role early next year, after six years on the job. Calderoni joined Cisco from QLogic in 2004, initially serving as SVP for customer solutions finance. In QLogic he served as VP and CFO, and before that he was CFO and SVP of Finance and Administration of SanDisk. Earlier, he served as a VP of Finance and Operations of Global Small Business of IBM, spending 21 years at the company.

Apple Names Burberry CEO as SVP, Retail and Online Stores

Apple appointed Angela Ahrendts, 53, CEO of Burberry, to a newly created position, as SVP, Retail and Online Stores. Ahrendts will have oversight of the strategic direction, expansion and operation of both Apple retail and online stores, which have redefined the shopping experience for hundreds of millions of customers around the world.

AT&T Adds Chairman and CEO of KeyCorp as Director

AT&T has named Beth E. Mooney, 58, chairman and CEO of KeyCorp, to its board of directors. Mooney joined KeyCorp in 2006 as vice chairman and head of Key Community Bank and served as president, COO and executive director from 2010 to 2011, when she was named CEO. Prior to her most recent position as Senior EVP and CFO for AmSouth Bancorporation (now Regions Financial Corporation), Mooney ran its banking operations in Tennessee and Northern Louisiana. Mooney also completed other line assignments of increasing responsibility at Bank One Corporation, Citicorp Real Estate, Inc., Hall Financial Group and Republic Bank of Texas/First Republic. At Bank One, she served as Regional President in Akron and Dayton, and then as President of Bank One Ohio, managing major markets throughout the state.

EMC Appoints Symantec EVP as President of Newly-Formed Emerging Technology Products Division 

EMC appoints Chirantan "CJ" Desai as President of the company's newly-formed Emerging Technology Products Division. The new division will develop and launch new products and grow new businesses based on emerging technologies, with a special focus on disruptive technologies. Desai most recently served as EVP of Information Management at Symantec. In this role, he was responsible for the company's backup and recovery, storage, cluster file system, high availability and archiving products. Prior to that, he served as SVP of the company's Endpoint and Mobility Group and also led engineering for the Endpoint and Message Security Groups.

Merck Appoints Insider as CIO

Merck appointed James Stewart, 52, as CIO. Stewart joined the Merck Serono biopharmaceutical division in 2011 and has made important contributions to both the development of the pharmaceutical business and the transformation of Merck as a whole. Prior to joining Merck, he had a long and successful career with MSD (in the U.S.: Merck & Co.), where he started in Human Resources and progressed through several global business and functional leadership roles. In 2009, he was appointed VP and Program Realization Officer within the Emerging Markets business unit. Before that, he joined the Human Health division in 2007 and led a successful business transformation program across the EMEA region.  Prior, Stewart had moved to Europe in 2001 to take on the position of Executive Director and International CIO at MSD, spanning EMEA, Canada, Latin America and Asia- Pacific. 

Google VP of Product Management and Head of Search for Google Play Store Depart

Google's VP of Product Management for Android, Hugo Barra, is leaving the company. Barra is joining Chinese company Xiaomi as Head of the company's International Business Development. During his five years stint at Google, Barra had been the constant public face of Android. Xiaomi, which entered smartphone segment just two years ago, recently displaced Apple in China.

Apple Appoints Former EPA Head to Lead Green Efforts; Former Yves St. Laurent CEO Joins for Special Projects

Apple has appointed the former head of the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Lisa Jackson as VP, Environmental Initiatives. Jackson had, until earlier this year, served as head of the EPA. Appointed by President Obama, she had been charged with helping to guide environmental policies and help to protect national resources from contamination. She left the post earlier this year following a run of more than four years heading up the agency.

VMware Appoints SVP, Global Channels and Alliances

Dave O'Callaghan has joined VMware as SVP of global channels and alliances. In this role, he will be responsible for the growth of the company's global partner organisation and help deliver solutions pertaining to software-defined data centers, hybrid cloud and the mobile workspace. Prior to joining, VMware, O'Callaghan worked for 12 years with Cisco, most recently as VP, Worldwide Commercial Sales.  He has also held several sales-centric roles at Hitachi Data Systems and Memorex Telex.
