Google’s VP of Sales, Mr. Jon Kaplan, left the tech major to join Pinterest as its head of global sales, a position that fell vacant last year after Joanne Bradford, the former head of the company’s media and sales operations, left the company in June, after being assigned a lesser role within the organization. Kaplan had been at Google for over a decade, having joined the tech giant back in 2003.
Amazon Witnesses Executive Departures
George Stathakopoulos, VP of Information Security left for Apple to be its VP of Corporate Information Security. Before Amazon, he was Microsoft’s general manager of product security.
John Tan left Amazon as VP of global operations engineering. In that role, John was responsible for the engineering design and capital procurement of a multi-billion dollar group for Amazon’s worldwide fulfillment centers, fresh/pantry facilities and transportation logistics. Prior to Amazon, John served in senior operations roles at both Thermo Fisher and PerkinElmer, both in the U.S. and abroad. He has joined Counsyl, a health technology company, as SVP, Operations.
Amazon’s VP of Operations Arthur Valdez has left the company. He has joined target as EVP, Chief Supply Chain and Logistics Officer. Valdez is a seasoned supply chain leader with extensive experience in both direct-to-consumer and direct-to-store operations. In addition, during his 20-plus year retail career, he also has held positions with Walmart and Kmart.

Yahoo! Appoints Former Morgan Stanley Exec and Current CFO of Broadcom as Directors
Yahoo! appointed Catherine J. Friedman and Eric K. Brandt to serve as directors of Yahoo. Catherine J. Friedman held numerous positions over a 23-year investment banking career with Morgan Stanley, including Managing Director and Head of West Coast Healthcare and Co-Head of the Biotechnology Practice, where she was strategic and transaction advisor to many of the most important companies in the sector. Friedman is a director of XenoPort, EnteroMedics, GSV Capital, Innoviva (formerly Theravance), and Radius Health.
Eric K. Brandt served as the CFO of Broadcom Corporation until its acquisition by Avago in February 2016, the President and Chief Executive Officer of Avanir Pharmaceuticals, and as the Chief Financial Officer of Allergan. Brandt also served as Vice President and Partner at The Boston Consulting Group. Brandt is a director of Lam Research Corporation and Dentsply Sirona.

Zynga Appoints Board Member and Former EA EVP as CEO
Zynga appointed Frank Gibeau, 47, a member of the Board, as CEO. Gibeau spent more than two decades at Electronic Arts, where he held a number of influential business and product leadership roles. Most recently he served as the EVP of EA Mobile. The Board appointed Mark Pincus, 50, Zynga's Chairman of the Board, as Executive Chairman. As Executive Chairman, Pincus will be an officer of Zynga and report to the Board. Concurrent with his appointment as Executive Chairman and the appointment of Gibeau as CEO, Pincus will resign as CEOof Zynga.
Shutterfly Names Christopher North as President and CEO
Shutterfly, the leading manufacturer and digital retailer of high-quality personalized products and services, appointed Christopher North as President, CEO and director. Interim CEO, Phil Marineau, will continue to lead Shutterfly until North joins as CEO. North joins Shutterfly from Amazon UK, where he has worked since 2006, serving as the UK managing director since 2011. Under his leadership, Amazon's UK revenue has grown rapidly to more than $9 billion in 2015.

SPS Commerce Gets New Chief Sales Officer

Tinder Reshuffles Management
Tinder, the popular dating app which is a part of Match Group, added Yahoo engineering executive Maria Zhang as its VP of engineering. Ferrell McDonald, most recently an independent marketing consultant and also a former Starz Entertainment marketing executive, joined as CMO.
YouTube and Google marketing executive Derek Callow was hired as VP of international and James Kim of TigerText hired as VP of finance.
CTO Ryan Ogle will take up responsibility of the product organization, and current product head Jonathan Badeen will become Head of Strategy. Current CMO Phil Schwarz “will take on a new role where he will continue to lead a range of marketing initiatives”.

Snapchat has hired longtime Pandora executive Tom Conrad as its new VP of Product. Conrad spent a decade at Pandora and was running product and also serving as the company’s CTO by the time he left back in 2014.
Spotify Taps Top Microsoft Lawyer as General Counsel
Horacio Gutierrez, Microsoft’s general counsel and longtime head of intellectual property law, has been hired by digital music service company Spotify to serve as its general counsel. Its former general counsel, Jared Grusd, left last year to become CEO of AOL’s Huffington Post.
Virtual Reality Startup Jaunt Builds Sales Team
Jaunt, a startup that makes applications and hardware for virtual reality, has hired a Julie Uhrman, the former founder and CEO of the Android game console company Ouya, as Head of Platform Business Development.
Beth Greve, the Chief Revenue Officer for YouTube network AwesomenessTV, is coming on as a “senior consultant” focused on the revenue strategy.
