Salesforce Names Keith Block as COO

Salesforce named Vice Chairman and President Keith Block, 54, its COO. Keith Block will continue to serve as vice chairman and president and serve as a member of Salesforce's board. Prior to joining Salesforce, Block served as Oracle's EVP of North America Sales and Consulting, leading a multi-billion dollar sales and services business-unit that achieved record revenue and margin during his tenure.   

ADP Appoints PayPal SVP to Board

Automatic Data Processing appointed William J. Ready as a new director of the company. Ready is SVP, Global Head of Product and Engineering at PayPal and also serves as the CEO of Braintree.

Fiserv Appoints CFO and President of Biller Solutions Business

Fiserv announced that Robert Hau will join the company as CFO. Hau’s professional background includes nearly 30 years of progressive business and financial leadership roles. He most recently served as EVP and CFO of TE Connectivity Ltd. Hau succeeds Tom Hirsch, who is retiring after a distinguished 21-year career with Fiserv. Hirsch was named CFO in 2006 and will continue through the year as a special consultant to the company.

Michael O'Laughlin has been named president of its Biller Solutions business. He spent the past 12 years in senior leadership roles at NCR, most recently serving as SVP, Global Services Delivery, and previously leading Financial Services. O'Laughlin has also held a variety of roles encompassing technical, management and sales responsibilities with Anderson Consulting, AT&T Data Systems Group, Data General, Convergys and Digiquant.

VMware Appoints New Board Members, CFO and Other Geographic Leaders

VMware elected Anthony J. Bates, 48, and Donald J. Carty, 69, to its board of directors. Carty joined the board in December 2015 and Bates joined on February 8, 2016. Bates currently serves as president and member of the board of directors at GoPro. Prior to GoPro, Bates was the EVP, Business Development and Evangelism of Microsoft and prior to that was the CEO of Skype until its acquisition by Microsoft in 2011.

Carty has been a director of EMC since January 2015. His past roles include vice chairman and CFO of Dell from January 2007 to June 2008, and chairman and CEO of AMR Corporation and American Airlines from May 1998 to April 2003.  Carty is also chairman of Virgin America Airlines and is a director of Canadian National Railway Company.       

VMware announced that Jonathan Chadwick, 49, the EVP, CFO and COO of the company, is resigning and will be replaced by EMC's CFO, Zane Rowe, 44. Chadwick has served in his role since August 2014, joining VMware as CFO in 2012. Prior to joining VMware, Chadwick most recently served as the chief financial officer of Skype since March 2011.

Rowe has been the CFO and EVP of EMC since October, 2014. Prior to that, Rowe served as VP of Sales at Apple since April 2012 and also served as its head of North America Sales.

VMware has appointed Jean-Phillipe (JP) Barleaza as VP, Channel and Alliances and General Business in EMEA. He has been a key member of the EMEA channel team since joining VMware in 2007 and acting VP since October 2015.

Henri van der Vaeren named as VP for South Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). His previous appointments includes five years at SAP, where was managing director for France and BeLux, and a member of the EMEA Executive Committee.

Kerrie-Anne Turner is VMware’s new Australia head of channels and general business. Turner, who starts at VMware February 15, 2016, fills the vacancy left behind by John Donovans departure in October. Turner comes to the VMware channel manager seat from mobile software vendor StayinFront, where she was Asia-Pacific VP.

Symantec Appoints Managing Partner of Silver Lake to Board

Symantec announced in conjunction with Silver Lake’s investment, Kenneth Y. “Ken” Hao, 46, managing partner of Silver Lake, will be appointed to Board of Directors. With his appointment, the Symantec Board will be comprised of ten directors, nine of whom are independent. Hao joined the Silver Lake in 2000. He led the establishment of Silver Lake's offices in China and Japan from 2007 to 2008. Mr. Hao has spent his career as an Advisor in technology companies. Previously, he served as the Managing Director at Hambrecht & Quist Group(Chase H&Q).                        

Citrix Gets New CEO; Appoints Board Chairman for Future Spin-off of the GoTo Products

Kirill Tatarinov, 51, has been appointed President, CEO and director. Interim President and CEO Robert Calderoni, 55, continues his role as Executive Chairman on the Citrix Board of Directors, focused on driving execution of the strategic plan for operational excellence, capital structure and portfolio simplification.

With 30 years of industry experience, Tatarinov has a long and successful track record overseeing product strategy and commercial operations in software and services. His background includes leadership positions at Microsoft for 13 years, including most recently serving as EVP of the Microsoft Business Solutions Division. Prior to Microsoft, Tatarinov was CTO at BMC.

Citrix elected Kevin Parker, co-founder and senior operating principal at Bridge Growth Partners, as the Chairman of the Board for the soon-to-be formed company comprised of the Citrix ‘GoTo’ product line, effective upon separation in late 2016. Parker also serves on the boards of Cvent, Salient CRGT, Intermedia, Aptos Retail and Polycom. Prior to his current roles, Parker spent more than 20 years as a top executive in software and services companies. He was President, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Deltek.

Workday Appoints Former Amgen CIO in Similar Role

Workday has appointed Diana McKenzie as the company's CIO. Reporting directly to Co-President Mark Peek, Diana will have global responsibility for Workday's information services organization. Prior to joining Workday, Diana was SVP and CIO at Amgen.

First Data EVP Departs Company

First Data Corporation announced that Sanjiv Das, 53, EVP of First Data, will leave the company. He has been appointed as CEO at Caliber Home Loans. Das served as Co-Head of Global Financial Solutions and Head of EMEA & APAC Regions at First Data since June 2015 and served as its EVP of Global Financial Solutions since May 2014.

NetApp Announces Management Streamlining; CFO Noviello Resigns

NetApp announced organizational changes that will flatten and streamline the structure and enable focused execution in driving efficiency and velocity in the business. As part of this reorganization, Cynthia Stoddard, NetApp's CIO, and Kris Newton, VP of Investor Relations, now report directly to CEO George Kurian, and Bill Berg, NetApp's SVP of Operations will report to EVP Joel Reich, among other changes.

NetApp also announced that CFO Nick Noviello has decided to pursue another opportunity. Jeffrey Bergmann, VP of corporate finance, will assume the role of interim CFO. Bergmann brings over 30 years of experience to the role, including six years in finance leadership positions at NetApp. NetApp has initiated a search process to identify a permanent CFO and will consider both internal and external candidates.

Jack Henry Appoints President David Foss as New CEO; Jack Prim to Continue as Executive Chairman

Jack Henry & Associates announced a plan for executive transition whereby David Foss will be named president and CEO on July 1, 2016. Foss, who has served as president of Jack Henry & Associates since July 1, 2014, will assume the additional role of CEO and Jack Prim, the current CEO and Chairman of the Board will become Executive Chairman.

Foss began his career in 1985 at NCR and held leadership positions at Advanced Computer Systems (ACS) and BancTec.

Prim previously held the positions of COO, President, CEO and in 2012 he was named Chairman of the Board. Prim joined JHA through the acquisition of Broadway & Seymour's Community Banking Division in 1995.

Open Text CHRO Departs; Appoints New EVP, Engineering

Open Text’s CHRO Lisa Zangari departs. Zangari joined OpenText in 2014 as CHRO. Prior to OpenText, she held a senior role at of IAMGOLD Corporation, a Canadian-based mining company. Prior to that, she held a variety of executive roles in strategic HR with emerging growth companies in the gold sector, including Kinross Gold Corporation and the former Placer Dome Group.

Muhi S. Majzoub was named EVP, Engineering in January 2016. Muhi joined OpenText as EVP of Engineering in June 2012. Prior to OpenText, Muhi was Chief of Products for NorthgateArinso, SVP of Product Development for CA, and VP of Product Development at Oracle.

Nuance Appoints Chief Legal Officer and EVP/GM for Mobile Division

Nuance Communications has appointed Ken Siegel as chief legal officer for legal organization and operations. Bruce Bowden, who has served as interim General Counsel since 2015, will transition into a leadership role for Nuance's transformation initiative in addition to his current Corporate Strategy and Business Development leadership.

Siegel joins Nuance with more than 30 years of experience and a distinguished career in both private and corporate roles, including most recently VP, General Counsel and Secretary at Cyan.  

Nuance also appointed Bob Schassler as its EVP and General Manager of the Mobile division.  Schassler joins Nuance as Mike Thompson, the division's veteran EVP and general manager, has decided to pursue interests outside of the company. Bob comes to Nuance from Motorola where he was EVP and General Manager.

athenahealth Names CTO from Kaseya International

athenahealth appointed Prakash Khot as CTO. Most recently, Khot was CTO at Kaseya International. In 2006, he co-founded Dimdim, a web-based platform that let users host or attend live online meetings, demos and webinars, and served as its CTO and EVP of Product Development. Dimdim was acquired by Salesforce in 2011 where he became their SVP of Engineering for the Collaboration Cloud platform. Previously, Khot led the CA RFID Group in the Office of CTO. He joined CA in 2001 upon its acquisition of Boston-based AIM, which he co-founded and served as CTO.

CSC Looking for a Corporate Controller as Diane Wilfong Leaves

Computer Sciences Corporation announced that Diane Wilfong, VP, controller and principal accounting officer has announced that she will be leaving the Company in order to accept a significant opportunity with a large company on the West Coast. She will remain in her position and will assist with a transition through her departure from CSC on February 26, 2016. The Company has initiated a search for a permanent replacement and has named Herve Maciejewski to serve as acting corporate controller during the period following Wilfong's departure.              

Manhattan Associates Promotes Corporate Controller

Supply chain commerce solutions firm Manhattan Associates promoted Linda Pinne to SVP, global corporate controller, and chief accounting officer. Pinne previously served as Manhattan’s VP and corporate controller, beginning in 2007, and as its Controller Americas, beginning in 2005.                           

Tableau Software SVP of Sales to Retire

Tableau Software announced that EVP of sales, Kelly Wright has informed the company and board of directors that she plans to retire by the end of 2016. Wright will continue in her role until a replacement is identified and integrated into the company. She will also be active in the search and transition.

Retired CSC President to Retire from Teradata’s Board

Edward P. (Pete) Boykin, 76, a director of Teradata, notified that he will retire from the board of directors and will not be standing for reelection. Boykin was President and COO at CSC from July 2001 to June 2003, joining the company in 1966.                                 

CallidusCloud CIO Joins Ellie Mae as VP, IT

Ellie Mae, which provides loan software to the mortgage industry, announced that Shamyo Chatterjee has joined the company as VP of IT. In this role, Sham will be responsible for providing the technology vision and leadership for developing and implementing internal business and information systems to support Ellie Mae’s growing business. Prior to joining Ellie Mae, Sham served as the CIO of CallidusCloud for over 12 years, where he held varying responsibilities over corporate IT, SaaS Operations, Security & Compliance and Facilities organizations worldwide.

Allscripts Healthcare Solutions Names Kraft Heinz’s Finance Exec as CFO

Allscripts Healthcare Solutions announced Melinda D. Whittington has joined the company as SVP – Finance and will become the CFO of the Company. Ms. Whittington most recently served as SVP, Corporate Controller and Chief Accounting Officer of The Kraft Heinz Company. Ms. Whittington will oversee all of Allscripts finance functions including controllership, tax, internal audit, financial planning and analysis, treasury, and investor relations.

Verint Systems Promotes Cyber Intelligence Exec

Business intelligence software company Verint Systems promoted Elad Sharon, formerly the COO, Communications and Cyber Intelligence segment to President, Communications and Cyber Intelligence segment replacing Hanan Gino. Sharon joined the company in 1997 and served in many roles overseeing research and development, innovation, project management and customer delivery. Gino will be leaving the company to pursue other opportunities.

FireEye Appoints President as Board Member; Announces New Lead Director

The Board of Directors of FireEye appointed Kevin R. Mandia, 45, to serve as a member of the Board. Mandia has served as FireEye's President since February 2015. He previously served as FireEye's SVP and COO from the date of FireEye's acquisition of Mandiant in December 2013 through February 2015. On February 9, 2016, the Board appointed Enrique Salem, an independent director of FireEye, to serve as the Lead Independent Director of the Board. 

MicroStrategy Sees Reorganization in Senior Ranks

MicroStrategy implemented a reorganization of the company's management team. Michael J. Saylor, the company's Chairman and CEO, was also elected as President of the company. Jonathan F. Klein, the company's President & Chief Legal Officer, and Paul N. Zolfaghari, the company's President, departed the company, with W. Ming Shao, Senior EVP & General Counsel, assuming the duties and responsibilities that Klein held as Chief Legal Officer and Saylor assuming all of their other respective duties and responsibilities.

RealPage Appoints Interim CFO as Company Looks for  New CFO

RealPage announced that Brian Shelton has been named Interim CFO and Treasurer. W. Bryan Hill, CFO and Treasurer, is resigning that same day to pursue other opportunities and interests. The company has engaged a search firm to conduct an extensive search for Hill’s replacement.

Shelton previously served as VP of Finance for St. Jude Medical, a global medical device company from 2010 to 2014.             

Shopify Appoints Chief Platform Officer to COO   

Ecommerce software firm Shopify named Harley Finkelstein as COO.  As Shopify’s first COO, Finkelstein will manage Corporate and Business Development, Sales, Shopify Plus, the Shopify Partner program, Shopify’s App Store, Merchant Support and all external and merchant-facing initiatives. Finkelstein joined Shopify in 2010 to support business development and soon took on additional responsibilities. As Chief Platform Officer, Finkelstein built the Shopify Partner program, which has become a core competitive advantage for Shopify. He currently serves on the board of The C100, and is an Advisor to Felicis Ventures and Omers Ventures.                 

CyberArk Appoints RSA Exec to Lead Sales for Asia Pacific and Japan

Israel-based security software company CyberArk named Vincent Goh as VP of sales for Asia Pacific and Japan. With more than 20 years of technology industry experience, Goh was most recently VP, Asia Pacific and Japan for RSA, The Security Division of EMC. Goh brings deep IT industry and sales experience with companies such as EMC, AST, Dell and Iomega to this role. Goh was also a member of the Republic of Singapore Airforce. 

Demandware Appoints Salesforce EVP as Director

Demandware appointed Linda Crawford to the company’s Board of Directors. As the former EVP and General Manager of the Salesforce Sales Cloud products, Crawford brings broad expertise in operations, enterprise sales and product leadership to the board. Crawford currently serves as the chief customer officer at Optimizely.

Additionally, Lawrence Bohn, 64, has retired from his position on the Demandware Board of Directors. Bohn has served on the Board since 2004, helping to advise Demandware from the company’s beginning through its more recent IPO and ascension to a leading market position.

Synchronoss Technologies Appoints SVP of Finance and Corporate Development

Synchronoss Technologies appointed Daniel H. Ives as SVP of Finance and Corporate Development. Ives joins Synchronoss after 16 years with FBR Capital Markets, where he was Managing Director and Senior Analyst for the Technology, Media and Telecoms equity research group, with a focus on enterprise software.         

Constant Contact Sees Management Changes after Endurance International’s $1.1B Acquisition of the Company Late Last Year

Endurance International announced that its acquisition of Constant Contact, for approximately $1.1 billion, has closed. In accordance with the Merger Agreement, each of Gail F. Goodman, Robert P. Badavas, Julie M. B. Bradley, John Campbell, Jay Herratti, Bill Kaiser, Dan T. H. Nye, and Lisa Weinstein resigned as directors of Constant Contact. Hari Ravichandran and David C. Bryson, the directors of Merger Sub, became the directors of Constant Contact.

Gail F. Goodman, President and CEO; Harpreet S. Grewal, EVP, CFO, and Treasurer; Ellen M. Brezniak, SVP, Customer Operations; Christopher M. Litster, SVP, Sales and Marketing; and Kenneth J. Surdan, SVP, Product, all resigned as officers of the company.

Hari Ravichandran, 40, became CEO and President of the Company and was appointed as a director. He is also a founder of Endurance, has served as a director of Endurance periodically since its inception and continuously since 2007, as its president since December 2009 and as its president and CEO since March 2011.

Marc Montagner, 54, became CFO and Treasurer of the Company. He has served as Endurance's CFO since September 2015.

David C. Bryson, 63, became Chief Legal Officer and Secretary of the Company and was appointed as a director. He has served as Endurance's Chief Legal Officer since July 2013.

Timothy S. Mathews, 52, became Chief Accounting Officer of the Company. He is also Chief Accounting Officer of Endurance.     

Insperity Promotes VP of MidMarket operations to SVP

Insperity promoted Kathy Johnson to SVP of MidMarket operations. Johnson joined the company in 2002 as general manager of the Atlanta Service Center, and since then has served as VP in various service technology roles, including Human Capital Management and Cloud Services. Most recently she served as VP of MidMarket operations. Prior to the company, Johnson held positions with The New Power Company and AT&T.

BroadSoft Promotes Finance Exec to Chief Accounting Officer

BroadSoft appointed Dennis D. Dourgarian, 40, as VP of Finance and Administration and Chief Accounting Officer. Dourgarian has held numerous financial positions with the Company since 2003, most recently as VP, Worldwide Controller and Treasurer since November 2012.

Marketo Appoints Former Autonomy and VeriSign Exec as Chief Security Officer    

Cloud-based marketing solutions platform provider Marketo appointed Jason Hoffman to the position of Chief Security Officer (CSO). Hoffman has more than 25 years of experience and leadership in the IT, security, and risk management fields at brands such as Autonomy (now HP), Kaiser Permanente, VeriSign (now Symantec), and Greater Bay Bank (now Wells Fargo Bank.) He most recently served as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for [24]7. Hoffman brings a breadth of experience from both large and small organizations in the high-tech, healthcare, and financial services industries.

Rovio’s CEO Steps Down After Just Over a Year

Pekka Rantala took over the role of Rovio CEO from co-founder Mikael Hed, but just over a year later he’s already stepping down. He’s to be replaced by Kati Levoranta, former chief legal officer for the Angry Birds maker.

Dora Vell

Dora Vell is the Managing Partner of Vell Executive Search, a boutique executive search firm in Boston focused on recruiting technology executives and board members. Vell has successfully completed numerous board member and C-level executive searches, including CEOs, COOs, CIOs, and Vice Presidents - at both public and private companies.
