athenahealth Names CTO from Kaseya International

athenahealth appointed Prakash Khot as CTO. Most recently, Khot was CTO at Kaseya International. In 2006, he co-founded Dimdim, a web-based platform that let users host or attend live online meetings, demos and webinars, and served as its CTO and EVP of Product Development. Dimdim was acquired by Salesforce in 2011 where he became their SVP of Engineering for the Collaboration Cloud platform. Previously, Khot led the CA RFID Group in the Office of CTO. He joined CA in 2001 upon its acquisition of Boston-based AIM, which he co-founded and served as CTO. 

Allscripts Healthcare Solutions Names Kraft Heinz’s Finance Exec as CFO

Allscripts Healthcare Solutions announced Melinda D. Whittington has joined the company as SVP – Finance and will become the CFO of the Company. Ms. Whittington most recently served as SVP, Corporate Controller and Chief Accounting Officer of The Kraft Heinz Company. Ms. Whittington will oversee all of Allscripts finance functions including controllership, tax, internal audit, financial planning and analysis, treasury, and investor relations.

Quality Systems Appoints Former CareFusion and Allscripts Exec as Subsidiary CTO  

Quality Systems appointed David A. Metcalfe, 52, to serve as the CTO of its subsidiary NextGen Healthcare. Prior to joining the Company, Metcalfe, served as VP of R&D at Becton, Dickinson & Company. Previously, Metcalfe was VP of Product Development at CareFusion, which was acquired by Becton, Dickinson & Company. From 2008 to 2012, Metcalfe was VP of Development for Allscripts.

Vocera Names Cisco Exec as VP of Marketing 

The provider of clinical communications system in healthcare Vocera Communications appointed Kathy Doub English as its VP of Marketing. English joins Vocera from Cisco Systems, where she served as the Global Senior Director of Industries and Services Marketing Communications and was responsible for monitoring and managing industry trends, amplifying solution value, leading content strategies, and aligning marketing programs to meet customers' needs in innovative ways.

AEON Merges into Authentidate Subsidiary as Founder Appointed as Authentidate Chairman; Makes Other Board Changes

Authentidate Holding Corp. and Peachstate Health Management (AEON Clinical Laboratories) announced that they have completed their merger transaction whereby privately-held AEON has merged with a wholly-owned subsidiary of Authentidate. In connection with the completion of the merger, Sonny Roshan, founder of AEON, will become Chairman of Authentidate.

Authentidate Holding elected Ronald C. Oklewicz, Varinder S. Rathore and Mustafa Chagani to the board. Mr. Ronald C. Oklewicz is currently the managing member of iRoar Partners, where he is focused on helping businesses in the federal medical sector reach their full potential by assisting them with strategic and business development.

Dr. Varinder S. Rathore is practicing Psychiatrist and has acted as Chief Medical Officer of Vitality Physicians Group Practice, P.C. since February 2013, and provides mental health and medical services to the patient population of the organization.

Mustafa Chagani is currently the CEO of Texas International Institute of Health Professions (dba) Vcare Community Clinics. Chagani has served in this capacity since January 2014.

Moseda Technologies Appoints New CEO and Chair

Mobile healthcare solutions company Moseda Technologies appointed Dr. Lisa Crossley, PhD., P.Eng. as CEO and Director and Mr. Sameet Kanade as President and Chairman of the Board as the Company aims to ramp up its client acquisition strategy. Most recently, Dr. Crossley was CEO of VitalHub Corp. Her prior experience includes leadership positions as CEO of Quantum Dental Technologies and President & CEO of Natrix Separations.

Sameet Kanade has been actively involved in the Canadian technology industry over the past 10 years having worked within equity research at several firms building upon his prior experience in the technology VC world.

HealthFore Technologies Ltd Announces Resignation Maninder Singh Grewal from the Board of Directors           

Cloud based hospital information systems firm HealthFore Technologies announced that Maninder Singh Grewal has resigned from the Board of Directors of the India based company. Grewal is the CEO of Religare Technova.

CompuMed Appoints Co-Interim CEO as President and CEO

CompuMed announced that Lee Keddie is the new President and CEO of the company. Previously, Lee Keddie and David Pointer were serving together as Co-Interim CEOs. David Pointer will continue in his role as Chairman of the Board. Laura Carroll, who has been extremely helpful in assisting Keddie throughout the leadership transition over the past two months, continues as the company's CFO. Keddie brings engineering and executive experience to the company, including expertise in developing scalable systems. He was the President and General Manager of HKX.

Dora Vell

Dora Vell is the Managing Partner of Vell Executive Search, a boutique executive search firm in Boston focused on recruiting technology executives and board members. She has received an MBA from the University of Toronto, a Master in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, and a Bachelor in Computer Science from Carleton. She has also completed the MIT Entrepreneurial Master’s program.
