Oracle Appoints Former Intel President Renée J. James as Newest Board Member

Renée J. James, 51, joined the board of directors of Oracle. James was previously the President of Intel. James has a 25 plus year career at Intel. Prior to becoming President, she served as EVP and General Manager of Software & Services Group. James joined Intel in 1987 as the Product Manager and progressed through variety of roles with increasing responsibilities.

Starbucks Appoints Ulta Beauty CEO as Newest Board Member

Starbucks Corporation announced that Mary Dillon, 54, CEO of Ulta Beauty was elected to the Starbucks Board of Directors. Dillon brings three decades of experience leading consumer-driven brands to build brand engagement and drive profitable growth. Prior to joining Ulta Beauty, Dillon served as president and CEO of U.S. Cellular. During her tenure, U.S. Cellular expanded its product and service offerings and strengthened new channels of distribution, while maintaining customer satisfaction levels. 

Banco Santander Sees Board Member Changes

The Board of Directors of Banco Santander has voted to appoint Belén Romana, 50, as an independent member. Romana will take the seat previously held by Sheila Bair, who resigned due to requirements of a new full time academic career. Romana has an extensive career, where she has held a range of responsibilities. Currently, she is independent non-executive member of the board of directors of British insurance company AVIVA.

Her last executive role was chairman of Sareb, the company that manages the assets resulting from Spain's banking sector restructuring, since November 2012, when the company was created, until January 2015. In the public sector, Belén Romana was head of the Spanish Treasury from 2003 to 2005 and director general for Economic Policy from 2000 until 2003.

Priceline Group Appoints Salesforce’s CMO as Board Member

The Priceline Group named Lynn M. Vojvodich, EVP and Chief Marketing officer of salesforce.com, as The Priceline Group's newest Director. Prior to her role at salesforce.com, Vojvodich served as a partner at Andreessen Horowitz where she helped companies build their go-to-market strategies.

General Motors’ CEO Mary Barra Adds on Chair Role

General Motors announced that its CEO Mary Barra, 54, is also taking on the role of chairman at the company. She'll replace Theodore Solso, who will stay on as the board's lead independent director. Barra took over as CEO in January of 2014, becoming the first woman to lead a major global automaker. Barra replaced Dan Akerson, a former telecommunications and private equity executive, who also held the chairman and CEO roles before leaving the company.

Nokia Announces Changes to the Board Following Alcatel Deal

Nokia confirms the composition of the Board of Directors following the successful public exchange offer for Alcatel-Lucent securities. Elizabeth Doherty, 58, who was a member of the Board of Directors until the successful closing of the exchange offer for Alcatel-Lucent securities, has stepped down from the Board of Directors.

Infosys Appoints Director with Experience in Investment Management and Financial Markets

Infosys appointed Dr. Punita Kumar Sinha, 53, as an independent director. Dr. Sinha is the Founder and Managing Partner of Pacific Pacific Paradigm Advisors. She served as a Senior Managing Director of The Blackstone Group; Senior Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer at Blackstone Asia Advisors; Senior Managing Director Asia Closed-End Funds and Senior Managing Director of India Closed-End Funds at The Blackstone Group.

Castellum Appoints Hilanders CEO as Board Member

Sweden-based real estate company Castellum AB elected Christina Karlsson Kazeem as a new board member. Kazeem is the CEO of the B2B firm, Hilanders, a position she has held since 2012. Since autumn 2015, she is also the chairman of the board of directors of Tomorrow China. 

Tesco Appoints One of UK's Most Powerful Women in Property as Director

Tesco PLC announced that Alison Platt will join the Board as additional independent Non-Executive Director. Platt is the Chief Executive of Countrywide plc, and has a wealth of relevant experience of the property sector and customer service delivery. She was previously Managing Director at Bupa, responsible for International Development Markets, and has held a range of senior posts including Chief Operating Officer of the UK private hospitals business at Bupa and a number of senior positions in British Airways.

Applied Materials’ New Director Comes With Experience in Global Growth Investing, Capital Markets and M&A

Applied Materials announced the appointment of Adrianna Ma, 41, to serve on its Board of Directors. Ma has been a Managing Partner at the Fremont Group, a private investment company, since May 2015. From 2005 to 2015, Ma served as a Managing Director at General Atlantic.

VMware Sees Changes on the Board and Leadership Team

Retired CFO of Accenture Pamela J. Craig, 58, resigned from the Board of Directors of VMware. Craig served as the CFO of Accenture from 2006 until her retirement in 2013. During her 34 years at Accenture, she held a variety of consulting, line management, operational and finance leadership roles.

Former PeopleSoft CMO Joins Board of Equinix

Equinix appointed Nanci Caldwell, 57, to its Board of Directors. Caldwell also currently sits on the Boards of CIBC and Citrix Systems. Caldwell is the former EVP and Chief Marketing Officer of PeopleSoft.

Sodexo Appoints Company Veteran and Director as Chairwoman

Sodexo appointed Sophie Bellon, 54, as Chairwoman. She will succeed Pierre Bellon, Sodexo's founder and Chairman, who will become Chairman Emeritus. Sophie Bellon joined Sodexo's Board of Directors in 1989 and has been Vice Chairwoman since November 29, 2013. She has also been a member of L'Oréal's Board of Directors since April 2015.

Bellon joined Sodexo in 1994 as a Senior Analyst in Group Finance Department. Most recently, she has been in charge of Group research, development and innovation processes as a Member of the Senior Management Team. Bellon started career in 1985 with Crédit Lyonnais in the United States as a Mergers and Acquisitions Advisor for the Bank's French clientele in New York.

Expedia Appoints Stanford Professor to Board

Expedia elected Susan C. Athey, 45, to fill a newly-created directorship position. Dr. Athey has served as a professor at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business since 2013, where she is also the co-director of the Digital Business Initiative. Prior to joining Stanford, she was a professor at Harvard University. She is the first female winner of the John Bates Clark Medal. She currently serves as a long-term consultant to Microsoft as well as a consulting researcher to Microsoft Research.

TD Ameritrade Appoints Couple of Female Leaders as Board Members

Irene Miller, 63, will join the online broker TD Ameritrade board of directors. Miller is the CEO of Akim, and the former vice-chairman and CFO of Barnes & Noble. She previously held senior banking and corporate finance positions with Morgan Stanley and Rothchild. She currently sits on the board of directors for both TD Bank Group and Inditex, S.A.

Ann Hailey, 64, will join the TD Ameritrade board of directors. Hailey has accumulated more than 30 years of finance, retail and operations expertise through executive leadership positions at companies such as Gilt Groupe, Mobil Oil Corporation, Pepsico, Duggan Consulting Associates, Nabisco Holdings Group, Pillsbury Company, and Limited Brands. She most recently served as president, CEO and CFO of Famous Yard Sale and currently sits on the board of directors for Avon Products, Realogy Holdings Corporation and W.W. Grainger.

Coach Appoints Director with Strong Business Acumen and Track Record of Investing in Digital and Lifestyle Companies

Coach, a leading New York design house of modern luxury accessories and lifestyle brands, announced that Annabelle Yu Long, 42, has been appointed to Board of Directors. Annabelle Long currently serves as Chief Executive, Bertelsmann China Corporate Center, and Managing Partner of Bertelsmann Asia Investments. Formerly, she was a Principal at Bertelsmann Digital Media Investments. Long is an active member of the World Economic Forum’s Young Global Leaders Advisory Council and is also a member of its Global Agenda Council on the Future of Media, Entertainment & Information.

Amazon Exec Joins as Director of Kingfisher

British multinational retailing company Kingfisher plc announced the appointment of Rakhi Parekh, 41, as a non-executive director of the Company. Parekh having spent 11 years at Amazon.com in various roles from 2002-14, most recently was Director, UK Media at Amazon, responsible for ranges such as books, music and DVDs. Prior to joining Amazon, Parekh held roles at TomTom (wireless products) and in management consultancy in the United States.

CDW Appoints Nielsen EVP as Director

CDW Corporation appointed Lynda M. Clarizio, 55, as Director. Since 2013, Clarizio has served as president, U.S. Media, for Nielsen. Prior to her role at Nielsen, Clarizio served as EVP for corporate development and operations at AppNexus. 

Frontier Communications Appoints Lead Director as Chairman; Separates Chair/CEO Roles

Frontier Communications announced its planned succession in the leadership of its Board of Directors. Maggie Wilderotter, the company’s CEO for ten and one-half years and its executive chairman since April 2015, will be succeeded as chairman by Pamela D. A. Reeve. Reeve joined the Frontier Communications Board in 2010 and currently serves as Lead Director. During her 15 year tenure at Lightbridge, Reeve held executive positions including president and CEO.

Walt Disney Company Veteran Joins Tupperware Board

Tupperware Brands Corporation announced that Meg Crofton, 62, has been elected to the company’s board of directors. Crofton is the former president of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts' U.S. and France operations. She is a 35-year veteran of the Walt Disney Company, serving numerous leadership roles over the years, spanning from diversified operations, staff and executive roles. Prior to working at Walt Disney, she worked for AT&T, and began her career at General Telephone & Electronics.

Founder of The Catalyst Group Joins Fannie Mae Board

Renee L. Glover, 66, was elected to the Board of Directors of Fannie Mae. Glover is the Founder and Managing Member of The Catalyst Group. Glover is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Enterprise Community Partners.  Glover served as President and CEO of the Atlanta Housing Authority from September 1994 to September 2013. She also served as a consultant for the Atlanta Housing Authority from September 2013 to November 2013 to facilitate the transition of leadership upon her retirement.
